Pepe Escobar must be one of the best news analysts in the world. I always find his commentary to be spot on. It's a damned shame that more weren't like him.
I don't think people realize to whom Senator Obama was speaking in this debate.
Most people have already made up their minds about where their vote is going to go. So, the messages that Senator Obama was sending were directed to those uncommitted voters that are not always the best informed and that appreciate civility.
I found the debate incredibly dissatisfying, myself, but what can any of us expect when they had so much territory to cover in 90 minutes?

Agreed, McCain seems an angry hateful old man and a bully that will say or do anything for power. He doesn't care what the world thinks of us. Obama is very thoughtful and intelligent, but I would like to see him be a bit more forceful. He could show more "fight" without sinking to McCains level.

Agreed, Tman. Last I heard, Obama has a slight lead over McSame, but he REALLY needs to come out swinging in the next debate. And knock off this "I agree with Sen McCain" garbage. How COULD he agree?! And he needs to scream in anger over this bail-out-the-rich bullshit. The average american is calling us "The US of Socialism" now because of this baillout. This is getting WAY out of hand. If it were fiction, I'd tell the writer to work on the plot a little more because it seems too far-fetched.

especially the independents! they've been around long enough to gather enough support to get the laws changed, so they might have the same power as the big two. Other parties need to demand the rights of the others. Even if it means a malcom X type of approach.

Did you go to the Rally for the Republic earlier? There were many things discussed which the republicans and democrats do to keep 3rd parties out.
With the US Army now being sicced on the American people with micro-wave guns, concussion gernades, etc... Martial Law to be declared, I wouldn't be too hasty. How can you help when you are locked away in prison?

I hear you, bebop54. It is real grief to awaken. I understand the need people feel to deny reality which sucks so bad.
I woke up in the 1990's to horrible lies, watching TMWKK over and over again. I recorded it and watched it several times before sending the tape to the local paper. It was terrible. I broke-down and went a bit crazy for awhile.
-People need to process this information at their own pace. The news media are a big part of the problem, as we know.

the truth is so contradictory to the reality we have created that something must be denied ... ...it involves shifting our perception & 'wakin' up to the truth ' ....i think for people who are resistant to change ( & aren't we all ..lol) it's good to remind them that we TOO have passed the 'horror' & de-personalization of 'wakin' up '...

I must admit, bebop54, I've been stymied for awhile. It was so good at the Rally 9/02 in MN, being surrounded by 'friendly' freedom lovers. It made my heart light right up!
-Then to return to 'reality' where Freddie, Fannie Mae, et all are forming a seemingly endless rape-train on the taxpayer...
Time to shake it off, and get back to work. We've got a little book club started for Campaign for Liberty. We stalled on chapter 3 of the Revolution because of my brooding and sulkiness. Thanks.
