every time i think about the secret war, it bring tears to my eyes knowing how much our hmong ppl, our ancestors, and our families suffered to get to freedom, and still suffering til this day. thanks for sharing!
This is a good thing. You guys should keep it going throw out the country of USA to show everyone how much we suffer for over 40 years. My dad and grandpa was a Caub Fab for 2 Long Year trying to help the Hmong free from the jungle of Laos during 1975-78 before they left to Thailand.
beautiful work!! This video really touched my heart!! I may not rememeber anything, but the part where the child was poisoned with opium really really hurt me, why? Because I was one of the many thousand of babies who was poison, but unlike the many unlucky ones, I survived.
while being hunted in the jungle, my mom escaped the gunshots of the laotian military. but her mom & brother (9 yrs old) who were just a few steps behind were shot. my mom hid just a few feet away, afraid to leave her hide-out because the lao military was still present. she listened to her mother & brother cry in pain, until their voices eventually died off.
yet, she had to keep running. burial was not an option. another relative came across dead bodies, son in his mom's arms. he buried them.
it was the hmong people fleeing to thailand.. and one of the baby was crying and so the leader told one of them to kill the baby with opium, so they won't get caught..
whoa my parents told me that they use opium to make them stop crying not kill them..but if its over dose yea...idk i think ur rite or theres alot of stories to it
@mabxyooj no not to kill the babe, during the night time when you are in enemies territory if a babe cry the parents would give little opium to put the child to sleep, there were time when given too much the child never wake up again.
maybe we can make a better video with more realistic events. i have an idea. why don't you stand there while i shoot at you with my AK47 and watch your guts spill out crying, weeping, and begging for your dear life. that would be more realistic wouldn't it? what say you?
I'm not sure if the Hmong community is familiar with why most communist countries hate the US. The United States have been known to manipulate countries to aid in their foreign war affairs. If the Hmong people are being targeted today, it was definitely the result of the American deception. Nonetheless, killings should not be tolerated anywhere in the world as we shall represent ONE kind, ONE purpose. I definitely love the message because I never knew about the existing conflict. Thank you.
that was a good scene on how the hmong people had to go through then and now... but whats the title of the song that was playing cause i want to use it a a background for one of my video that i'm planning to make. thanks keep hmong the people inside of you strong and maybe one day we hmong will have our own country.
I notice Pao Vang wants to be look at as a Laotian even though he's Hmong. Honestly, I can see his point of view and why he doesn't want to be see as Hmong. Like LoogKaoNeo said, he is a Lao patriot who served the Lao People. He's just not down with the communist. That's all.
Well technically Vang Pao was a citizen of Lao but with hmong heritage. Just as all the hmong that came abroad. It's unclear exactly when hmong migrated to Lao. Hmong probably migrated to lao because Jao Fa Ngum created a constitution and abolished slavery in Lanjiang (Lan Xang) in the mid 1300s. Back before that Lao was called Nanjiang and later known as Lanjiang and it was a multicutural a country since. This happened because of communist. There were and still are hmong communist in lao.
none the less there was royal prince(traitor) in the Pathet Lao too...through the chaos and confusion...It's time to heal and make sense of the mess and do it proper in a history so that it may never happen again....It's more important educate the masses no matter how hopeless it seems.
Well done. It's true hmong and lao alike was persecuted. My dad was detained in an interrogation camp for couple of years, but he was lucky enough to survive unlike his peers. Thanks, for incooporating lao in your awareness effort.
i am hmong... and i grew up in the USA and i'm proud to see that there are at least people i know that still remember hmong and there way... it's good to know that kids like you are doing this so yeah... One day in my school year i hope to do something like this to let other people know the hmong way to... "i WANT THE HMONG IN THE HISTORY BOOK BECAUSE WE DID HELP THE USA!!!" one day it shall come alive... nice video i love it!!! =]
thats wes great my hmong people brothers and sisters.we need to keep our heads up and don't ever forget where we kame from and what happen.keep our hmong name alive and well.
all my hmong people out there we need to make a stand and let all the white necks people now what our parents and grandparents and some off us have suffer from what happen to our people in laos.
dont speak of hope and such if you are just saying it. it does nothing. best to do is rep ur name and the hmong name. just dont give it a bad name. that much you can do.
Consider the geographic issues u dick. Going to China would be crossing through Vietamn, and than what. You really think the Chinese would care for refugees, them fucking commiess.
wow..good job actin. Credits to the St. Olaf Hmong peeps who put this on. I hope that one day our grandpas and fathers whos died for this war will help guide us to let the world know about the situation.

Just to shed some light, hmongs held high positions in the Royal Lao Army too in the resistence of the Pathet Lao(communist).
Hmong and lao lived in peace in Laos before all the chaos.
