Don't know for sure, but I wouldn't be surprised. Hillary would have been 8 years old at this time and that little girl looks to be the right age. I'm also pretty sure I've heard Hillary mention going to one or more award shows with her mother. If it is her, it's pretty great to go from watching your mother win a CMA to 15 years later winning your own!

Why did they sing the song at the CMAs in 1993, but then win the award in 1994? Don't you usually perform the song you're nominated for the same year?

Not necessarily. A lot of artists like to perform their current singles on award shows to give it some exposure and hopefully boost how much radio plays it. This song was Reba's single in 1993 so it would make sense that she would choose to perform it then.

The song was fairly new in 1993 at the time thay sang it on the show. They sang it to promote the song. then the following year they won the award.

@MirdieMird not necessarily because it was a brand new single for Reba in November 1993. A year later it had become the best selling and most played radio event in the entire 1994 year. So they were rewarding her their accomplishments for what happened that year. Reba also won a Grammy for that song.

This is so adorable! Their speeches were sweet and funny. I love that Reba has such a great sense of humor about "the dress" and all the bruhaha over it! Fact is - although it may have been more risque than she would have liked, Reba did look amazing in it (not everyone could have pulled it off) and by today's standards it isn't even shocking.
