Yea after i watched i think he was still steering when he abruptly let off the throttle. Fatal mistake..(almost literally...)

Well if he overcorrected the same basic thing wouldve happened IMO. I think at that speed there was probably less than 5 percent chance of saving it once he lifted.

The drag chute is used to quckly slow a race car at the end of a pass. Drivers will let it out at any sign of trouble...

Yes if I remember correctly this was around 1995. Bret Kepner, Bob Varsha and Ted Jones. ESPN did do alot of tape delay races in this era...I remember watching this one on TV....
