  • wear resistance is not a good thing for a knife. that only means its harder to sharpen

  • @canadianglock22 It means it stays sharp longer as well. And in some situations edge retention is more important than sharpening it.

  • hay nutn, when you dowin the aqua salt review?

thnx keep up the good work.

  • The Pentagon Elite II is a great little folder.

  • nutnfancy I found one for $79. However it has a nylon sheath. Does it come in any other steels? Or did I find a deal?

  • @lucky13driver That is one of the ones in i believe aus8 instead of the 20cv

  • Nutn. It wouldn't pierce as good as your Boker I don't think. Thats a wicked wicked looking edge put on there. You've backed the angle up as well. Thats one naughty little Applegate/Fairburn. Thanks

  • where to get the Duratech version for $100?

  • I got the tl02.. I love it and hate it hahah... Still a great knife but it has the saw on top witch takes away using the back of the blade for more pressure....

  • Do you prefer stainless steel or carbon steel in your knives?

  • @frankgon4 I don't know Nutn's opinions on this, but I'm almmost sure he'll agree... Carbon steel serves different purposes than stainless. Carbon steel holds it's edge better, and sharpens up easier than Stainless. BUT carbon steel will rust/corrode. So anywhere near saltwater, or very moist environments, you might want to go with stainless. Different uses for different people.

  • @braxtonamour I prefer stainless steel on short blades that don't do any pounding or batoning. I prefer Carbon steel for any full tang knives over 12 inches or any knives to be used for batoning. You don't see any actual use Combat swords , large axes or sledge hammers made out of stainless steel. Stainless steel is too brittle for continuous pounding, but does resist corrosion very well. I gun blue my carbon knives. It may be possible to apply some other type of protection to the blade.

  • hmmm this or Sog Field Pup... Big price Difference but i just found this knife for $70! By the way how is it in that sheath looks very flimsy in there like its going to fall off. Nutn it be cool and nice if you were to do more test when the knife is in the sheath like turn it upside down and give it a jiggle :0 Thanks!

  • man this knife review never gets old awesome knife.

  • Does anyone have experience with botachtactical?, I want to get that MOLLE sheath, its the cheapest there, but everyone says they've had bad luck with that place?

  • @TheSherminator64 Nutnfancy loves them, i love them, i dont know what is up with everyone else.

  • 666 vids!

    ace vid AGAIN! lol

sog a good trusty knife. no wonder the forces like them.

  • @nutnfancy

hey what do you think of the smith and wesson special tactical knife ? could you review it ?

  • This is the first knife I bought as a serious knife collector, about 2-3 years ago. I was so excited when I saw this post from nutnfancy. Thank you so much!!!!!!!!

  • Great review! Can't wait to see the update when you receive your Team Leader. Hopefully we can get to see the 20CV tested out a little bit, cutting, hacking, etc.

  • Holy heck, You should see how jacked the subtitles are. They don't coincide with what you're saying AT ALL. I have no idea why they thought it was a good idea. <.<

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 I had to turn my CC on after your comment... I think I just pissed myself. LMAO

  • @KCWes ^_^

Hope you had fun with it, mate. Lol. The subtitles are just SO inaccurate it's not even funny... well, actually it is kinda funny. :D

  • @JesusFuckingChrist84 it IS horrible. From what I understand they are using the google voice recognition program which is still a ways off. I also heard that google is offering free 411 service to anyone in exchange for your voice being recorded to assist them in making the CC program more accurate.

  • @OutONoWhere

Interesting. Didn't know that... but with the ridiculous volume of videos on youtube, no doubt in my mind, the subtitles will not improve.

Watch a video of someone with a foreign accent, and you'll understand what I mean!

  • O I stole it alright, try $74.... Its a good blade...my first fixed.

  • Great Video Nutn

id love to see an Ontario NIGHT STALKER 9 reviewed

  • I would love to get my hands on a sog. They are a great looking knife.

  • what happens when the molle adapter gets drenched in water??? I'd rather "duck it" worked great for my k-bar.

  • Hey everyone......anyone who has input on this question please respond.

OK, I am looking at buying a dagger around the one foot long mark.

I seam to be just debating between the Cold Steel Peacekeeper in San Mia II,

and the SOG Daggert 2. Both have similar shape and design, and even the the same basic sheath.

    Any recommendations? Thanks.

  • dude you need to do a review on the beretta Px-4 storm full size 9mm

  • how many times have you had to use a knife "tactically"?

  • Great review! BBBBBAAAAAAAAADDDDDDDD Knife!

  • I should get this knife on the 10th of May, I am really contemplating making my own kydex sheath. I just wish it came with one straight from the factory. Does anyone know of substitutes? Or perhaps someone that does custom kydex sheaths?

  • nice vid

  • Nutnfancy, I love this knife, but I have a question: are they legal to carry on you? when does a knife become not legal? I would not like to get caught with one and get a misdemeanor on me.

  • @sentinell Generally speaking, if a knife has a blade under 5 inches in length its legal to carry.... BUT it depends on the state that you are in so you'd have to check out what the knife laws are in your state.

  • @NifoOtiBoy Thank you for your response; I always wondered about that. I always like to carry a knife, but hope to never have to use it. I'll check the laws in VA.

  • what online store you recommed to buy knives

  • Comment removed

  • I just got this knife in and WTF SOG!?!? The edge is DULL, like I mean super dull. I have my stones soaking right now, I am not too hot on having to sharpen my knives right out of the box..... very frustrating.

  • Can you do a reveiw on the sog trident???

  • @12marinecorp He did a review on the trident a long time ago

  • just got mine today...already love it

  • Nutn'

Not sure if you've considered the Team Leader Survivor version that has the saw on the spine.....OMG that thing has a devastating saw action. WOW. I just got mine today and performed some testing. I'm glad I saw...pun intended...saw your video and also got this one to compliment the 20CV. Only $50 bucks on Amazon. Looks like the 20CV has gone back up in price, as of today. I can't believe I snagged one for so cheap. Thanks for the heads up.

  • Got my Team Leader in the mail today via Amazon. I am thinking that I might have the "plastic'y" handle scales replaced by one of those Fitzen cord wraps he was talking about! Oh Yeah...! You're right though, not that sharp OTB, I will have Fitzen tighten that up along the way too.

  • @wflccb83 Fitzen will make your blade sharp, but it looks like hes a little choppy I guess I could say. Not very clean cut looking if you know what I mean.

  • @GunGuru727 not sure if i truly understand what you mean, but if you mean what I think you mean and that he is perhaps a little shady and maybe less than law abiding than I can assure you that he is not that way. He is a law abiding citizen, I also know personally that there has been at least one occasion that presented itself that proved to me that he has a greater respect for what is good and right than most. If I didn't understand you correctly I apologize for wasting your time.

  • @8onebaddude8 I hear what your saying. Thats not what I mean. I was just basically saying he makes the knives sharp but they dont look very nice once the edges are done. I have seen some of nutns knives in the videos they looked good before he went in(obv they were not sharp) but then they just looked roughed up. Thats all.

  • I'm dying for a gun video. It's been soooo long.

  • Thanks for all your vids!

  • Great vid Nutn!

  • it doesn't crank my wheel either!!!!

  • Hey Nutnfancy, thanks for all of the great videos- always informative. How do you think the Aqua Salt will hold up as a survival knife, is it tough enough for chopping, batoning, etc.

  • I really like the look of that knife! Might have to save up for it, would be worth it for the quality. Thanks for the review! Good mix going with knife, and Fitzen vids.

  • I'm sensing a theme here. Keep the edge reviews coming!

  • "perhaps it doesent crank my wheel" LMAO...Luv yur vidz maan...

  • I would love to see a non-leather sheath :)

  • I love SOG!!! I have the Tsunami, it rules!!

  • I ordered mine the other day from Amazon I just couldn't help myself.. If the snap on the sheath breaks apart like it did on my Tech Bowie, and my Fusion Bowie, I'm gonna go all tactical on them.... BTW... only 1 month warranty on the sheath... :'[

  • XD i just found 111$ today =)

  • Hey Nutn. Great video. Couldn't help but notice the blade on the Sog Teamleader bears an AMAZING likeness to the blade on my Boker Kalashnikov 74 Auto. I had to look twice & it looks just like the shape. Just a comparison. What do you think?

  • How about the d2 steel rant u can get for less than $60? that beats this sog i would say for alot less.

  • love the flat ground blade:-)

  • is the spyderco pacifica a good knife?

  • The H1 should definitely beat the 20CV in corrosion resistance, H1 cannot physically rust, science dictates it.

Do some serious research on it Nutn, H1 is more of an alloy than a steel.

  • Nutnfancy, CPM means Crucible Particle Metallurgy. It is like a brand name so steels like CPM S30V, CPM D2, CPM 154, etc. are made by Crucible. Saying Duratech 20cv is "a CPM" is incorrect. It is a powdered metal, but is made by Duratech not Crucible.

  • Over £200 in the UK unfortunately :(

  • @Fizzoid I know it sucks, like all the knives he talks about are like £200 lol .

  • @MrConor54 Actually, it seems most are even more in £ than they are in $

  • If you search Botach tactical there are loads of complaints about them not shipping orders and not refunding ect. I thought I would just let you know. :)

  • 440c isn't an outstanding steel. It is a common steel found in cheaper knives.

20CV is a good steel, similar to S30V. Won't hold quite the edge, but it is easier to sharpen.

  • Hey, did you review the SOG tomahawk? Just curious, the price is very affordable but I don't know if it's any good. Any info would be helpful.

  • Hey all,

They've got the Team Leader sawback for $60 at Sportman's guide. Don't think it's the same steel as this one [and it obviously doesn't have the straight back either]. Might be worth a shot for folks though.

  • last few knives you reviewd are dc'd, how about doing some new 2010 knives!!

  • Nutn's jammin' on the knife vids!

    //Like!//

  • is this a good throwing knife.

  • @fierwall5 Man, I knife like this, not a chance...

  • @fierwall5 Why would you want to throw this knife?

  • Great vid keep up the good work.

  • You always say TMPer, but im thinking i miss heard u cuz idk what that means, but TNPer would probably be The Nutnfancy Project ers?

  • @yoohoosk8r correct

  • @spartan177saber ahh ty

  • I like that desert dagger!

  • Finnally i get hold of alot of s30v blades thinking i got top of the line shit this super steel comes out horse shit

  • Many benefits to folders, but there is just something about a good fixed blade. One thing that would float my boat a little more about the blade is more of a blunt edge on the pommel. Great vid as always.

  • grrrreat vid man....keepen comming

  • Very nice size, full tang, strong metal... I like it!

Time to hint for Father's Day. :D

  • The Hinderer XM-18 has been using 20CV for a while I believe. They go for $600+ though.

  • nutnfancy would you be so kind so maybe do a review on a desert eagle, preferably in 50 AE, for some who are considering to purchase one for the fun factor of it. I would just like to hear your take on it, thanks.

  • rifle > knife

  • How does the adhesive on the velcro hold up to heat? Might be a problem. I've used velcro similar to it and it tends melt under (what I consider) mild temperatures.

  • Comment removed

  • blades arnt my biggest concern id rather have a nice rifle just keep that in mind

  • In your opinion, whats a good edc knife, im tired of all these broken, loose, pos knives i have in my collection, small side carry knife. thanks, great videos

  • i would love mine better if it was tanto.....

  • Hey nutnfancy (or anybody else). Do you have any experience with "Scrap Yard" knives? I did some shopping around and for the money they seem to be amazing. They're custom (maybe semi-custom?) knives that are a brother company of "Busse Combat", but around the $100 price point, the "Scrap Yard" blades seem almost too good to be true. Any info?

    -By the way excellent review.

  • my sisters boyfriends' work has a signing with SOG and i get them half off see if you can find a friend who works at a hardware store cause its sweet

  • Cool Vid, nice notice on the immediate price value.

    Thanks Nutunfancy!

  • If you get a chance dude, I'd like to see a review of the SOG NW Ranger. Sweet review as always!

  • looks sweet.. i'd def like to see you point out the blade during your next sledgehammer run (if you're carrying it, or any other knife) just to see how and where you carry it... maybe incorporate a use of the blade (or hypothetical use) during the run.. thanks.. as always.. another great review.. thanks..

  • Nice review dude! As always. This seems like a very good knife. I wanted to get myself a good tactical edc knife. I like drop point knives. I wanted to get the sprint run spyderco manix 2. But the blade shape wasn't the same for regular ones, as you know.

Would you recommend this than the spyderco manix 2 or the para/military series? I know folding knives are different from the team leader, but yea. Your opinion.

  • Awesome Knife, of course it was designed for a specific use, maybe not really tacical but it looks great for doing vegetables, meat and anything that requires your thumb on top. So based on that I would say that the ergonomics on the handle is totally awesome, smooth, comfortable, good looking , great. Also the Molle Sheath is a wonderful idea.

The Steel well "harder steel beats softer steel or softer materials" and I like knives you can even cut wire with

  • Uhgg....that burn is soo distracting. hehe. Seems to be healing up nicely. Nice knife. I would have overlooked this one if not for this review. The design of the blade doesn't really stand out. Didn't realize they used such a nice steel on it. The grip looks really comfortable/functional.

The H1 steel on the aquasalt is rust proof.(Uses Nitrogen instead of Carbon) I am thinking about picking up an H1 blade for the tackle box.

  • Good review will probably pick one up. Hey, you forgot to add the cool music beats in this vid :(

  • SUPER AWSOME GREAT = SOG LOL

  • I love SOG. I carry my Trident Tanto every day.

  • love your vids and the sog brand. have a question for you. i was thinking of upgrading my flash 2 to the vulcan from sog, Do you prefer the arc lock and are they any good

  • is it sad that ive started dreaming about meeting nutnfancy?

  • good knife

  • blade length??

  • just a few left topglock website has this blade for $73

  • i love your gun reviews, but i love your knife vids more! i hope you get into a knife video making groove. or maybe a gun+knife review, meaning, what knives you would prefer with specific guns.

  • the sheath is not going with the design of the knife

  • @biocybernaut i agree.

  • hey nutn check out the gerber icon. great, high value, large folding knife that isn't heavy!

  • looks kinda bushcrafty

  • Love the table top reviews!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dont ever go away from tose please.

  • Keep up the great work nutn. Stick with these "shorter" vids. More frequent 10-20 minute videos are better than 40-50 minute videos.

  • good knife i would buy it

  • Where is "Mean Steel" Pt 2?! Been waiting for that one. I love your visits to the little shop of horrors.

  • I'm surprised we haven't seen a review on the Glock Field Knife 78 yet

  • Nutn showed me this knife a little while ago and I agree that the ergonomics on this knife are VERY sweet indeed. VERY lightweight and I would consider it strongly for a load bearing rig. Yes, you can get something with a stronger tip; its called a rail road stake.

  • talk abt 2 kinds of kool heheheh...1st type of kool pretty awesome,2nd kind...depends on the person...

  • For the euros here, its still on sale at wolfster (german webshop) for 119.90Eur. but only in 440C.

  • only a couple left from topglock $73

  • only a couple left from topglock $73

  • thoroughly informative and entertaining

  • This knife seems like SOG's version of the BM Nimravus. I had a Nimravus140 w/ G-10 scales... and I sold it. Did care for it too much. You could maybe use it for skinning, meal prep or maybe a small defensive weapon, but it was very thin and wasn't comfortable in hand. I put Camo Form on it and it helped a little, but it just wasn't my thing.

  • Its funny how when I started watching the vid I was considering this SOG Team Leader but right when you flashed the Spyderco Aqua Salt and I looked up the price, I immediately decided for the Spyderco instead. Thx for the vid and info.

  • Awesome review. Nice to see that Aqua Salt on camera. I have been waiting for that one for a long time. I have a Pacific Salt (used a lot in salt water) and it is a sweet blade.

  • I hate it when your timing doesn't work out right and we get, "...this knife is so awesome! ...great value! ...excellent steel!"

    "...no longer being produced..."

As soon as you brought that thing on camera, I fell in love with it. Beautiful blade and it's made by SOG. Can't beat that. Hopefully, I can still find one.

Great video as always Nutn. Keep doin what ya do 'dude'.

  • good video nutn and veri keep up the great work

  • good review NutnFancy! and no Gloves either!

  • @Ski11inger Thought the gloves kicked ass.

  • WooHoo

Got me one at Amazon for $65 SHIPPED.....how you ask......apply for the Amazon VISA and get $40 off...just remember to pay that credit card off ON TIME.

    Thanks Nutn'

Hey, did you see the Survivor version with that WICKED saw on the spine..got one of those too for $50....Sweetness!

  • That Aqua Salt has been tempting me for some time. But I want a Rock Salt first. It would be nice to see a twofer with both Salty blades.

  • I like the looks of that knife. Too bad in Europ they go around €250, which is is around $350. Rip off!

  • Adding to my previous comment, I will forgo purchasing this knife because I want to get a Fitzen Ghurka. I'll be making the phone call today!

  • @oOBunnyackOo lol i just had this weird mental image of 2 guys with really really long knives...

  • You are really good at getting me to impulse buy knives!!! haha. I see a review and I'm like, "Oh man! I need that knife!!! I have 30 already but I NEED that one!!!"

  • lol is there a variety of knife combat other then close quarters?

  • I'm 20 minutes away from Latrobe. PA in the house!

  • great vid

  • Have you bought one, Nutnfancy?

  • MOAR blades!

  • Darn, I thought the Temperance 2 was king of the hill til this guy came out in 20CV. I wasn't even aware that this steel was being used in knives yet. The T2 we used (previously reviewed in TNP lol) split, made tinder, and kept it's edge relatively well with only a little touching up to be paper cutting sharp after the weekend.

To see this option for 100 bucks will really turn the market upside. Thanks for the review man!

  • awsome!

  • I used to love me SOG blades, anyone remember X-42 Recondo, black tini coated +Kydex sheath Bro took it camping, never got it back. (sad face). Looked awsome but was chisel ground & BG-42 steel was too brittle if you ask me.

Recently i a feeling my endura FFG over sog folders.

  • I love blade time!!!!

  • I met kevin Wilkins at a custom knife show in Germany he told me Crucible went bankrupt. The patents and Steel traDEmarks have been sold...here we go again

  • I'm broke, unemployed, and my wife is going to leave me. But I have a new knife in my online shopping cart :) Thanks allot nutn. Just kidding, I'm not unemployed. Great review, always love SOG. I got the aegis based on your review. Love the knife for EDC. Keep up the good work.

  • Verry nice knife man. Tnx for another great review. Hope u can say something of Al Mar Shiva.

  • Sorry nutn if this was already answered, but you say this is a good LBE knife at the beginning, then you say for civilian sheepdogs it is not a good LBE knife specifically. Are you saying that this doesn't work as well as other knives in a dedicated LBE role, so civilians would be better served with a more combat oriented knife, or do you mean that this knife works better on a soldier's LBE than a civilians? I probably misunderstood. Awesome review dude.

  • Nutn, you mentioned before that you prefer fixed blade knives to have a fully wrapped handled (e.g. no bolsters, no tang metal to hand). Does it effect the team leader at all? Seems between the jimping and metal all around that it would be an issue.

With that said I like the form factor of the handle.

  • guys i would recommend not using botach tactical. They have Horrible customer service. My order turned in to a month and a half of being lied to,and not getting the product i ordered. I eventually got my money back. ymmv

  • great vid nutn

  • If you cant afford this blade I just noticed Walmart online is selling the SOG field pup in Aus8 for $30.00 and I think they ship free to a local store. Im thinking of getting one myself since the two blades are so very similar.

  • @jbc6650 That would be a great deal and the Field Pup is a good camp knife.

  • would you say, Dark Ops' CTV-2 steel, CPM-125V, VG-10 or 20CV is better in strength and durability? my personal fav is VG-10, but you speak very highly of this 20CV

  • When are you going to do a review on Military Shovel WJQ-308? lol

  • for most people they would probably love this knife, but i dont think its right for to many things. ill explain and remember this is my opinion dont jump me

tactical- to thin of a blade risk of breakage.

    edc- to big

survival- like u said deffinatly doesnt look strong enough

i guess if you would like to carry a little bit of a larger edc i could deffinatly see that because of the great blade, but not for me, awesome review tho, i love how many your doing now hope u can keep it up lol

  • @stealthassassin1990 All fair observations and thanks for the support dude. If you can ever do it, try to handle this one and see if you still feel the same though ;-)

  • @nutnfancy oh trust me i would love to handle it and see what its like, i dont like to judge the book by its cover, just an opinion before handling lol, im actually selling my microtech combat troodon drop point blade (didnt carry it alot) so hopefully i can sell it and fund some more spending on knives i dont need :) i might pick this one up just to try it out.

  • @nutnfancy whats up nutnfancy looks like you got free time dont want to bother you but ( nothing to do with the knife ) in my country semi autos and shotguns under 27barrel inches are illegal what do you think about the marlin 336 as a tactical rifle?

  • @stealthassassin1990 You should learn the difference between "to" and "too".

  • man loving how many your throwing out now, thats a nice blade, i have always loved sog. for that to be a tactical knife i would like a little bit thicker blade (thats a huge pet peeve for me) other than that awesome

  • thank you nutnfancy

  • whats a TNPer?

  • @Thei9Ways follow of The Nutnfancy Project

  • @Thei9Ways the people who follows / viewers of TNP (The Nuntnfancy Project)
