I use my Aiptek also in my car. The problem is that the battery doesn't store enough energy for long distance drivings. If you use the power supply at home, you can use the cam without a battery. So I tried to use the camera in my car with a car-power-supply (-->miniUSB). But the camera thinks, it is connected to a PC an shuts down.
This is some amazing footage; especially considering how Youtube displays HD signals. If I didn't know what camera you used, I would guess it was a Canon XL2 or comparable $3000 HD Camera.
amazing quality for re-render! would have been better if it was a straight from the camera upload. Do you like the camera? im thinking of getting it. it seams better than my AgfaPhoto DV5000(records in 720p but looks like 480p).
I am getting very confused between the various models and which is best. I think some people are naming Action HD as A-HD etc and I am not clear on all the varieties and which I should purchase.
On Aiptek I see the following:
Action HD GVS (249)
Action HD (209)
A-HD+ (199)
Hi Speed 720p (169) etc...
Which one do you have? Action-HD? I hear people talking about how A-HD is better than A-HD+ but I don't see a A-HD unless their meaning Action-HD.
I'm thinking about getting an Aiptek but some videos look like they stutter or like frames are being dropped. However they all say 1080p etc. I really don't care about 1080p I want 720p but smooth consistent video.
Yours looks very smooth. Is it because it was in 720p? Do you find 720p mode is much better motion wise?
Also I am confused at which models people are using. Is this shot on a A-HD or an A-HD+? I can't really see what the difference is but one costs more.
This was shot with the Aiptek Action HD, which, as far as I know, is only available at Walmart. The current price is around $155-160 which is a good deal for this cam.
I'm pretty sure I shot this at 720P 60i, which is probably the smoothest setting. However YouTube videso from thicam may look jerky because of the way the user output the file for upload. If this cam wqs better in low light and had exposure lock It would be great.
I wanted to know what brand of video editing software did you use to render this video. I bought the Aiptek Action HD 6 months ago and would like to make DVD's in HD. Although I don't have a blu Ray player, I would like to have the option of burning them on Blu Ray just in case.
Wow. Very Impressed with the film quality for such a small camera. I'm seriously starting to think about getting one. Have you noticed any major flaws with the user interface or the physical design of the camera? Thanks
as a canon hv20 owner, i have been considering this little camcorder as a cheap back-up cam. i would rather get one of these stolen from than my canon hv20 when i'm on holiday.
ive got the HF 10 and im thinking about getting this to shoot multi cam, this is nice and cheap but is still hd so it would be nice to edit in multi camera
The cam was mounted on a tripos over the passenger seat. I've never used a Jazz Elite. The action HD would be better if it had exposure lock and better WB.
Wish the original audio recording was kept so that we could get a sense of how that camera handles audio. I heard the built in microphone is pretty useless, does it have a mic. line in for a stereo minijack, 1/8" microphone?
The audio track wasn't good because the mic picked up too much low frequency noise from the car. The mic is mono and not that great, but it picks up voice fairly well. You can search around on the web and maybe find where someone added a mic input to the cam. I saw it somewhere.
I found the mod, thanks. Looks like some work and a void warranty, but even with the mono mic it's a good deal. The 60fps at 720p could be handy feature
I tried sony vegas 8 and rendered AVCHD (Advanced Video Codec High Definition)and didn't get the same kind of results. if possible can u go over ur render settings. u did a grate job on ur video and it's perfect. thanks for all ur help..
Hi, I'm considering buying this instead of the a-hd+ 1080p. The action hd for ($30 more), comes with the optical zoom & it is much more sturdier looking than the a-hd+. what do you think. And please explain what does it mean when you say "re-render"? What editing software will work with this brand?
Kewl... do you recall if Image Stableization was on...
btw were you missing the passenger windshield wiper? it seems odd to have that much of your windshield not covered by the wiper path...
just curious... ;-)

@dracaler The Action HD doesn't haave any stabilization control. My windshiles wiper blades were old at the time.

CampSKate4 2 years ago
You guys you have to render it in a video editor like Sony Vegas Pro or Windows Movie Maker so that when you upload it to YouTube it is in HD.
martinolatino123 2 years ago
how do you render it could you maybe make a video on how to that would be amazing because i really wanna get into this kind of stuff

Amazing video for such an economical camcorder.... you did a great job filming it and the background music was nice!!
You should disguss using it as a promo with Aiptek!!

get a cigarette lightyer power converter. Basically it gives a 120V AC outlet in your car. Problem solved!

i saw a new model....aiptek a-hd PRO...its $30 more than the A-HD. Has anyone any experience with the PRO?
Also why did you have to re-render when h.264 files can be uploaded to youtube?

I uploaded a few test videos on my channel. Apart from that, any video having the HD tagg with it in my channel is also from the cam.
