  • Sting has said in interviews that he almost did the same thing once that caused Owen to fall.

  • They should do that at Mania with Cena

  • Lmao at ppl saying vince wouldnt spend money for something like this. Need I remind you the Empty Arena match between The Rock and Mick Foley or how about getting Mike Tyson? Jeebus you ppl are naive.

  • "If it's not Sting, we're at war." Lol gotta love Brain. He always had the best soundbites.

  • This should be a WrestleMania entrance one day.

  • That was Epic i Remember seeing that as a Kid

  • jesus christ of latter day saints.

  • Bischoff sold the wind better than Nash sells a Goldberg spear. Sad.

  • @KongregateNews hahahaha

  • @KongregateNews LMAAOOOOOOO

  • This entrance by Sting blew my mind. I was going nuts.

  • Bischoff's overacting there with the helicopter is as bad as Vince the first time he got a stunner.

  • This brings back great memories. Stings crow gimmick cannot be beaten. WCW did amazing things between 96-97. Its a shame it went a bit sour from Mid 98

  • wow! I just barely remember this. The sting storyline here was pretty damn good. The last interesting thing to be done with the NWO.

  • Back in the days!

  • 20 bucks said they told him to aim for the pool LOL

  • @cipher10000 True, But does this have to do with money? Vince is a Billionaire he can do anything he wants. The reason he wont have any of his talent jump off a helicopter is because of Owen Hart. He doesn't want to take that risk of seriously injuring someone or killing.

  • @45Yankeeclipper Well, not to split hairs, but Vince lost the billionaire title in 2002 or 2003 I believe. He's only in the millions now. ("only" being a relative term there LOL) Although this looks a bit safer than most of the arena line spots. The helicopter seems to be much lower than most of the arena rafters. That being said, there are many dangers to be found here as well.

  • @CombatSportFan okay, sorry for forgetting Vince is not a billionaire anymore BUT, Thank You for agreeing with me that This stunt is still dangerous and why it's not done today.

  • @45Yankeeclipper It's just a pet peeve of mine that Vince still spouts the "billionaire" line to try and stroke his ego =P I was never a fan of any of those spots because they always looked very dangerous. One of the most cringe worthy was from Memphis. Jerry Lawler lowered into the ring from the top of the Mid-South Coliseum only holding onto a rope. No real safeguards were seen from what I could tell.

  • @CombatSportFan I completely agree, and that's why Vince is smart not to do those spots anymore but you got to read some of these comments. These Stupid marks keep saying it's because of money why vince doesn't let his talent do things like this.

  • @45Yankeeclipper To be fair, if Vince saw a way to market from it I wouldn't put it past him to TRY to do this again (whether a wrestler would agree is another story.) However, Vince still has enough production money to blow up limos, and have huge explosions in the ring etc. This wouldn't be a drop in the bucket for WWE or the USA Network to cover. Helicopter rental plus stunt crew, well south of $10,000 total. Nothing for them. It's just not a good risk/reward any longer.

  • @cipher10000 what are you talking about? Vince DID something like this two years before this incident. It was at Wrestlemania 12. Shawn Michaels greatest entrance of all time.

  • @cipher10000 waste of resources.

  • i never seen anything this awesome in my life sting is the man i'm sorry

  • Epic with a touch o cheese.haha

  • This is why Sting is fucking boss.

  • Started laughing at 2:07.

  • I REMEMBER WHEN WCW USED TO DO THESE "SPRING BREAK EDITIONS" I WAS 12...AND ALL I REMEMBER IS HEENAN WITH HIS PATENT "OOOOOOH!!!!!!!" WHEN STING KICKED SAVAGE...CLASSIC!!!

  • hard not to respect Sting, even if you're a WWE mark

  • Most epic fuckin entrance in wrestling history.

  • coolest fucking entrance ever

  • sting had alot of balls to do that

  • when the fuck was this? wasnt in 1998!

  • How much money did WCW waste by having Michael Buffer there every week lol

  • @fantasyexctasy I'm not sure, but damn, Buffer was amazing.

  • Never Forget!

  • How much money do you think this cost?

  • That was fucking brilliant, can't believe I hadn't heard about this before. This is what made WCW fucking awesome

  • Borden has balls, I'll give him that!

  • His Starrcade entrance in 97 was better.

  • how was this not on the wcw best of nitro dvd

  • This was around the same time Danny Way dropped into a half pipe from a helicopter.

  • Love the wrestling ring on the pool

  • dude i remember watching this on classics on demand i kept rewinding it sting is a legend

  • Hbk wrestlemania entrance from the roof is the best ever

  • I remember this so clearly. I never missed WCW and I was stunned when Sting came down from that helicopter. Sting Rules!

  • look at how hogan walks right by bischoff while he's being blown away.

  • @Bigge1724 Yeah, It's called no Selling, since Hogan is all about himself.

  • @45Yankeeclipper Hogan's the heaviest guy there. Lex Luger wasn't "blown away" but you're not complaining about that. There's a good reason Hogan didn't sell that.

  • This was my favorite Sting moment from WCW! Man, I miss WCW.

  • I remember this, but I couldn't find it anywhere. Thanks for uploading...is this on any WCW dvd?

  • @5880missy sadly, no. This should of been on the Best of Nitro DVD.

  • That was hella dangerous, not just for Sting, but for the fans as well.

  • WWE hasen't got the money to even do this :P

  • @HipnosisV1SvR The only reason WWE will never do anything like this is because of the death of owen hart.

  • @45Yankeeclipper wwe is a billion dollar company retard

  • @shadowloks2292 what does that have to do with my statement?

  • @45Yankeeclipper they could if they used ropes made for a man instead of a freakin boat

  • @45Yankeeclipper That is so true. After what happened to Owen Hart the WWE won't ever do anything even close to this.

  • @HipnosisV1SvR exactly how much do you think it is to rent a helicopter? cause it's not that expensive. alternatively, this was a massive gamble, and i can't actually believe Ted Turners insurance agents let this happen. as someone who worked around helicopters daily for 4 years in the army i can tell you there are few machines on this earth that can go from fine to completely fucked faster than a helicopter.

  • I always wondered--when Stimg was still hooked to the cables, it always took a few seconds to get free, but NO ONE EVER JUMPED HIM!!!

  • If its not Sting, we're at war. LoL.

  • i love sting but wcw was dumb ass at times

  • Wcw was always weak

  • @FJC509: That's your opinion, and it's your right to think that way. Then again, why are you watching a WCW video if you don't like it?

  • @FJC509 bullshit

  • this was good, but the best sting entrance ever to me was at starrcade 97 cause that was the time when everybody wanted to see sting come down the ramp most lol

  • @sweetpetergeda Idk it's not everyday somebody desents from a helicopter for just an entrance and this was on nitro not on PPV. But yes his Starrcade entrance was epic as well.

  • @sweetpetergeda starrcade 97 wasnt even steve borden, it was the fake sting

  • @catnip213 and what the hell are you smoking dude Starrcade 97 was Steve Borden it sure as HELL wasn't Jeff Farmer aka the NWO Sting

  • @catnip213 huh, you need to watch that again pimpin lol, everybody knows the real sting when they see him and that was him at starrcade 97, i got the match on like 3 or 4 dvds. as much as i study that guy as far as wrestling goes, i know that guy no matter where i see him at lol

  • This is why, for a couple years, billionaire Ted was a good thing.

  • OMG...........awesome

  • thanks for uploading this, i remember watching it many moons ago when wrestling was more enjoyable and anticipated than it is today but cant remember, what year was this ? im thinking 1998/99 ???

  • @promenoshi it was in March of 1998 don't remember the exact date.

  • when wrestling was good

  • Finally someone posted this thank you.
