The gospels were all written at the LEAST (35-60) yrs of more after the alleged events. Written in Greek by unknown authors and even bible believing historians will acknowledge that.They were embellished as time went by. In the bible, Jesus says that people need to follow scripture. The New Testament is all about Jesus, thus this confirms that true Christians must follow the rules of the Old Testament. The Jews were once Gods chosen people because they once followed his will, Now they don't, Most of the Orthodox Jews for instance deny Jesus is the Son of God. Times change.

@ndzoko Nope, The simple fact is this, in the Old testament Christ had not been sacrificed therefore people could be judged for their sins which is why they made sacrifices and rituals etc to recieve remission from God of their sins and they prayed and such. God has never changed just the times have. The world was a very vile place before The floods which is why it had to happen. Wipe the slate clean. God never changed morality. He wanted people to be saved just as much as he does now

Well, the good news is that yahweh was nothing more than a mythical God. Originally a more minor God in the Canaanite pantheon of Gods and Goddesses. His character and actions are really just a reflection of the people's cultural mindest that endorsed him...the late Bronze age Hebrews.

@SHAOLINSINZ You are making an assertion that "Love" is "god". Love is an emotion. It can be and is often experienced by people who have no knowlege of your god at all. You can't provide an assertion as proof of another assertion. I honestly don't have time to go out and list all of the contradictions that can be found in the bible. Google "bible contradictions graph" and you'll find a handy list of them all.

@TheEkstaza This whole life can be experienced without Any knowledege of God, Does that mean his existence is not real or God is not love?
We know God is love by the fact that his arms are always open and no matter the depth of sin or how evil we are we can turn to Christ and be saved from Hell in the second Death. I need not search for Bible contradictions because i read a bible every single day, if I considered it contradictory or to not make sense i would of never believed in it.

In the bible, Jesus says that people need to follow scripture. The New Testament is all about Jesus, thus this confirms that true Christians must follow the rules of the Old Testament. The fact of the matter is that almost all Christians alive today would be stoned to death by other Christians if they went back to any time before Copernicus, which means that they're not really Christians, thus this whole debate is moot.

@theredscourge Your mistaken, That is ONLY if they are in agreement with Jesus teachings, then Christians are called to follow the Old Testament Law aka Mosaic Law. Reason being is that, as the Apostle Paul stated "We are no longer under law but grace." Look at Galatians 2:19-21 as a reference. If we were capable of righteousness through the Law then Christ died for nothing. The law was given to show us that were imperfect, blemished humans in need of a Savior. The basis of your comment is void.
