I pick the one who killed an entire kingdom minus Cyan and one nameless NPC, killed dozens of Espers, rose a gigantic continent, killing a bunch of people in the process, damn near DESTROYED an entire planet, and destroyed several towns that opposed him. Simply put, I prefer the one that attained godhood for at least a year.
It takes one FUCK of an insane clown to not only think of doing all that shit, but actually manage to pull it off, if you ask me.
Just dropping by to say that Kefka is the most awesome villain ever IMO, and that FF6 NEEDS to get a DS remake.
Also, Kefka has a boner. Never realized that until I read about it online, and now, I can't unsee it. Needless to say, he probably enjoys destroying the world just a little bit too much.
If this were released on the PSP, I'd probably buy a PSP just for this alone. I don't really care what system it's released on, though, so long as they remake FF6 in some form. But when (better NOT be if) Squenix releases a remake of this game, they make it somewhat more difficult, and again, give Kefka more HP and make Forsaken/Goner do more than like 500-2000 damage per cast.
Yes, I did know that. I own FF6 Advance, and I beat it, and tried the bonus dungeon, and in it, I ended up getting owned by the Earth Dragon and his 100 Gs+Quake spam. So, yeah, I think it's awesome.
VII was only so popular because it was a launch title with the Playstation 1, which itself was one of the most popular gaming systems of all time. Alot of people who play VII then go on to play other games of the series soon find that it's not as amazing as it's made out to be.
I always want to play this game, and I keep thinking I'm going to love it, then I wind up hating it around the world of ruin. I have no idea what it is, something just rubs me the wrong way. I'm thinking of doing a LP of it while mocking it all the way through, and see if I can succeed in my spiritual journey of coming to like it.
Fuck stop talking about Sephiroth this is a KEFKA video. Why on earth would you bring up the most overrated villain in the series on a video about a villain eighty times better than him?
you know, even though its weak damage wise here, Goner/Forsaken actually has the highest damage output for a spell in the entire game. 220 base power (ultima has like 150 i think. goner doesnt cut throught defence tho.) just sayin that makes kefka badass.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
you guys are retarded who compare Sephiroth to Kefka, I cant really take Kefka serious cus he's so infamous and hasnt made any good graphic game with kefka or movie to see him fully more then some fucking pixels.
so duh, ofc sephiroth is better :P and much more realistic
Kefka killed an entire kingdom minus two people, killed dozens of Espers with his bare hands, and damn near DESTROYED an entire planet, and destroyed ALL towns who dared oppose him. He achieved his goal of godhood.
Sephiroth had a HUGE nervous breakdown because he found out he was experimented on by Hojo, arguably an even BIGGER villain than him, and burned a village and killed a flower girl. Tried to destroy world with meteor, failed miserably. DIDN'T achieve goal of godhood.
I've always assumed that the head pops up to show that Kefka is laughing before using his trademark move "Goner". Probably because the in-game graphics couldn't handle changing Kefka's facial features during battle.
Sephiroth, a stereotypical villain with loads of hench powers and a mysterious disposition who fails to achieve his goals.
Kefka, an origional and fairly unique villain who starts of pathetic and no stronger than the man protagonists and, in fact, weaker than some of them and works his way up tom power, is a total batshit mad and achieves his goals of becoming god and destroying the world..
Agreeded, yet lets compare the two to... the handheld concels.
Kefka worked its way up to be the god of magic, and was not challenged for about a year, yet looked and acted like an angry child, like the DS.
Seph was the Cool badass who had a couple of abilities kefka didn't at first, yet he failed, and only lives on in messed up recreations of himself that fail as well, like the PSP
Of course. Sephiroth's stereotypical mysterious character had nothing on Kuja's great lyrical dialogue which turns to madness at the realisation of his mortality in my oppinion.
Sephiroth is a success story which sets him on a pedestal, so to speak, but Kuja is ultimatly just a failed creation who's mere existance was to temporarily cause destruction his pathetic, meaningless existance whilst Zidane was being perfected.
The trick to fighting an epic battle with Kefka is to level yourself silly, use a ROM hack to raise Kefka's offensive and defensive stats (defence is key), then make him faster. A lot faster. The only downside is that his laugh won't sound right.
but, make no mistake, i like all FF villains a lot, although i wouldnt consider Sin as much of a villain as a destructive monster. Although i like Kuja a bit more than Sephiroth because of his poetic grace. you have to be very firm in your own masculinity to be able to wear a crotch plate like he does. and also, in reference to his poetic themes, Kuja wears the crotch plate as an aside to Shakespearean times when many males wore crotch plates and protecters, not just warriers but nobility too
Sephiroth and Kefka had interesting philosophical views on life, whereas Golbez and Exdeath are just villains with bloodlust. although i will grant that Golbez has ambiguous views on Light and Dark, which make him more interesting, but Exdeath, while he is cool, is just a power hungry villain.
ExDeath really was boring, I thought. He pales in comparison to Golbez.
ExDeath kinda deserves his lack of credibility but Golbez was hench as hell and is thusfar the only antagonist to leave the side of evil and join the good guys before the end.
i think they shouldve evolved kefka after this battle to a more powerful form. or better yet they shouldve made his hyperdrive a multiple target move. but anyways good thing for emulators the kefka i reprogrammed his much harder to beat. no element spells can harm him theyy cure him after all he is a god right. and even at lv 99 he still can beat u. u just have to get lucky and get him first before he gets u. also he has a new set of moves like xzone, and meteo. he also uses a couple of espers.
the only problem is that he has a total of over 73,000 hp included his auto life 3 spell when u drain his hp. i wanted to exceed the 65535 hp cap but theres no way to do that. and i cant have life 3 restore his hp to full to give him over 130,000 hp. i wanted to give him about 150,000-200,000 hp to make him a true test like he shouldve been.
Well, if they ever do come out with a FF6 remake, which they BETTER, one of my biggest hopes is that they make Kefka harder. They should give him more HP, and make it so Forsaken aka Goner does more damage.
I don't know about everyone else, but I didn't like the fact that Kefka only had 62,000 HP. He had a few pretty awesome attacks (I.E. Heartless Angel, Havoc Wing, Forsaken/Goner, Ultima and Meteor), but you almost always kill him before he manages to pull at least Ultima and Meteor off.
offering makes u hit four times. u can find it in the ancient castle where u get odin and raiden. to make them hit 8 times equip a genji glove along with offering. 4 hits for each weapon.
Because of a programming bug, the "Evade%" stat is meaningless and this is the stat that the Darkness status was to affect. Therefore, Darkness has no effect. This is at least true of the American SNES version, as well as any ROM derived from it.
Anyway, cool video. I remember the first time I beat Kefka. Everyone was dead except Cyan, who was near death and finished him off with his desperation attack. Great ending to the best boss fight in 16-bit gaming, if not ever.
You know that the Blind status is irrelevant, right? It doesn't DO anything in the SNES version. I don't think it does anything in the PS1 version, either. Just an observation. D:
Finally, someone showing a better progression of the Kefka fight. Everyone wants to show how to "one-shot" or "quick kill" him, something I figured out how to do when I was 10. But I never liked doing that, because I always thought it was an awesome boss fight, especially when he powers up with the freaky head thing popping up. Good show, sir.
Nice fight man, I love these type of challenges although I find that FF6 can get to easy because of an over powered party so I created my own bosses which are quite formadable.
If you're looking for a challenge, check out my "FF5 vs FF6" debut. ;)
I don't think I've ever seen some of those moves, since Ultima and Bum Rush are so overpowered I just spam those and he goes down. I like the slower version here though, made for a better fight.
I think the head inflicted the 'seizure' status effect, where HP slowly decreases. If I recall correctly, you couldn't heal from it.
My best guess to the significance to this is that it was originally meant to be a much more powerful move... the dialogue probably also made better sense in japanese.
The whole Kefka-battle makes me think of it like a path from Devil to God. First is the Devil-battle, then something that could be thought as Sinners, then Saints and finally this awesome battle.
I loved this fight. But I couldn't help but notice, when he says those words, the stage shakes. I couldn't figure it out either, but now I see it's a warning that he's about to attack with "Goner."
"The end comes...beyond chaos."=Right after everyone and everything goes nuts, the world will end.
Look at the literal meanings, though: the "end" is obvious, but "beyond chaos" isn't quite so. Usually "beyond" means "farther ahead," so take it as "after."
Of course...there's always a symbolic twist. It's possibly the most cryptic thing I've ever read in a video game, and one of the most cryptic in all fiction. The whole boss fight is so Gothic and spooky.
What would have made Kefda a good final boss would be 100,000-125,000 HP, more speed, an instant kill move like Doom, and an Ultima at the end like the Magimaster does.
Still though, he is the superior villain personalitywise.
Well there's a tool that lets you edit the ROM's monsters. You can give Kefka Auto-Rise so that he technically has over 100k HP. As for moves, you'd have to figure out how to alter his battle script.
kefka rules as well as sephiroth, kuja and the necron but zeromus is at the top of the main boss chain. they shouldve made kefka stronger though fight my kefka on my ff 3 rom even at 99 ull still lose to him hahahahahahaha plus i gave him more moves like crusader and meteo and grandtrain even has tek missile and xfer in his arsenal
The thing is he doesn't need those. He has the 3 'agas, his virtual OHKO HavocWing and even Ultima. All he needs is the ability to attack more often and more HP.
how can't you not get all the magic.... wow but if you can beat em without all the quick I tip my hat with you...... because the original trick for him is to get everyone to use quick and then ultima his ass!
Kefka is really something else...since I've never had the change to face him myself I can't say if he's superior to Sephiroth, but it looks good...really good.
I completed this with only 2 characters above level 30 (Terra and Sabin). I'm pretty good with them though, I don't die. All I can say is, I love Bum Rush.
I played the Playstation version when I did that, don't know if that makes a difference?
Ever since the PS3's release it's gotten nothing but crappy reviews. I got a 360 so I would naturally hope that any remakes come out for that. Lokandfffan, theres not much seperating the ps3 from the 360 in terms of capability: the ps3 is a bit better but they are mostly equal. And the Wii wasnt made to be a powerhouse, it's focusing on the new controller design. So shut up.
if i must say my littel brother said the ps3 is the best and personly think the ps3 is a bit better ans you think but the 360 is still on my lsit infact it is one of my fav becuas i wanted it fr halowar and halo3 all this nonces was from my brother cus his other acc was bannd so plz accept my aplogy and take no hard feeling my way

I can't wait to see the FF6 remake on hte DS GODDAMMIT
Sefirosu88 4 years ago 5
I'm still ticked off that they renamed Kefka's move Goner to Forsaken on the GBA. I mean, come on. Goner is just *his* move.
coolkyle342 4 years ago
FF6 deserves a 3D remake
rocketfox129 4 years ago 12
I hope it gets one. They are redoing 4 in 3D, maybe V and VI as well? (maybe 1 2 and 3 too!)
Firewizard23 4 years ago
That would rock and finally give me a chance to play them, I know they made remakes with the same graphics for PS1 but I couldn't find them anywhere
When Dissidia comes out, the first person I am playing as is Kefka
rocketfox129 4 years ago
there is a 3d remake for 3 itss on the ds
mrunescape 4 years ago
You might be thinkn' of IV, but that one's good too.
Cubivore10 3 years ago
there is a remake for ds of both games
Jugaal 3 years ago
im preety sure they will but i hope they make FF7 for ds but it is imposible beacuse the rights of that game are owned by the playstation
solarboy27 4 years ago
No they're not. Square owns the full rights.
That being said, I'd far prefer a PS3 remake for FF6 and FF7.
ex0du5 4 years ago 2
anything below 7 is most likely going on the DS. I can garuntee you that FFVI will not be remade on the PS3.
KrimboElf 3 years ago
huh its very unlikely they will make final fantasy 6 for ps3 they will make it for ds more likely just like they did with 3 and 4
ichimaru400 3 years ago
Kefka is the best villain of the series, everyone likes sephiroth though because he has a huge sword and a wing.
kefka could kill sephiroth anyday
KralleCR 4 years ago 8
Kefka is the most underrated villians, hes one of my all time favorites.
artb76 4 years ago 3
I have to admit, Kefka is one of my favorite villans...but I doubt that he could beat sephiroth. At least in his normal form
Saturnstales 4 years ago 2
i'd think Kefka would Drive Sephiroth Mad.
or Sephiroth beats him and Kefka defeated
runs away to return in this form.
or they'd Team up and destroy the world
with godlike power
Xarscum 4 years ago 3
Kefka isn't nearly as underrated as Golbez. Also Sepheroth is lame, I like VII and all, but I just hate sepheroth.
KrimboElf 3 years ago 4
Yeah I hear you.
I feel the same way about the Legend of Zelda series, I loved the game, but I really always disliked Gannon.
artb76 3 years ago
yeah gannondorf sucks ass
ichimaru400 3 years ago
I heard that they're going to remake ff5 and ff6 for nintendo DS, are true? because if is true I have to buy a NDS
Sefirosu88 4 years ago
You manage cheaper if you buy Gameboy Advance. It already has remakes of both of them.
About this DS-thing I haven't heard about, but I guess it might be possible.
tubeshark 4 years ago
They are, and FFIV DS is already out in Japan.

Link, now.

The whole Kefka-battle makes me think of it like a path from Devil to God. First is the Devil-battle, then something that could be thought as Sinners, then Saints and finally this awesome battle.
PS. Kefka's laughter is soooo cool :D
tubeshark 4 years ago
Kefka is not the most insane, Giygas is.
MOUPIMOUPI 4 years ago 3
Well, he DID destroy his own mind. :D

dangit, better lineup. Sabin, Gogo, Terra, and Locke/Cyan(preferably)

if you get 2 7 and a bar your doomed

I wish they would have made him like a thousand times tougher. It was kind of a letdown for such an awesome villain.
NightChorus 4 years ago 3
great music :(

Yeah...
Tuppenfall 4 years ago
For such a good villain, he was so easy to beat.
NukeA6 4 years ago
I loved this fight. But I couldn't help but notice, when he says those words, the stage shakes. I couldn't figure it out either, but now I see it's a warning that he's about to attack with "Goner."
Altair0115 4 years ago
where i can get the Ragnarok and The Excalibur?
TheRafa9258 4 years ago
You can choose between Ragnarok esper/sword on Narshe. You get Excalibur from Goddess.
Tuppenfall 4 years ago
POOW Kefka just got pwned LOL!
CommanderSavage 4 years ago
Wow. Sabin pwned him on that last attack.
coolkyle342 4 years ago
There's something I dont get... "the end comes.... beyond chaos" <--- what?? What is that supposed to mean?
Also, why does his head appear in front of him after that? Anyone know?
KaseyAkira 4 years ago
"The end comes...beyond chaos."=Right after everyone and everything goes nuts, the world will end.
Look at the literal meanings, though: the "end" is obvious, but "beyond chaos" isn't quite so. Usually "beyond" means "farther ahead," so take it as "after."
Of course...there's always a symbolic twist. It's possibly the most cryptic thing I've ever read in a video game, and one of the most cryptic in all fiction. The whole boss fight is so Gothic and spooky.
calchexas 4 years ago
Look we're still talking about Kefka. Does the 00's suck that much?
Greatermaxim 4 years ago
What would have made Kefda a good final boss would be 100,000-125,000 HP, more speed, an instant kill move like Doom, and an Ultima at the end like the Magimaster does.
Still though, he is the superior villain personalitywise.
ehf884 4 years ago
Yeah. I also like the fact that while all other FF villains were "Gods" or Demons or Super Men(LOL). Kefka was just an awful human being.
Crow51 4 years ago
Well there's a tool that lets you edit the ROM's monsters. You can give Kefka Auto-Rise so that he technically has over 100k HP. As for moves, you'd have to figure out how to alter his battle script.
RoarOfRa 4 years ago
yes secptile a rom have u heard of emulation
kefkaroth 4 years ago
kefka rules as well as sephiroth, kuja and the necron but zeromus is at the top of the main boss chain. they shouldve made kefka stronger though fight my kefka on my ff 3 rom even at 99 ull still lose to him hahahahahahaha plus i gave him more moves like crusader and meteo and grandtrain even has tek missile and xfer in his arsenal
kefkaroth 4 years ago
The thing is he doesn't need those. He has the 3 'agas, his virtual OHKO HavocWing and even Ultima. All he needs is the ability to attack more often and more HP.
RoarOfRa 4 years ago
Level 13 with superballs is something I could try. I like the non-hacked lower level versions.

Valientlink 4 years ago
how can't you not get all the magic.... wow but if you can beat em without all the quick I tip my hat with you...... because the original trick for him is to get everyone to use quick and then ultima his ass!
kakashifan666 4 years ago
Kefka is really something else...since I've never had the change to face him myself I can't say if he's superior to Sephiroth, but it looks good...really good.
tubeshark 4 years ago
He can either be easier, or harder. Kefka however is the superior villain plot-wise and personality-wise. As well as in every way other than battle.
RoarOfRa 4 years ago
Yeah. I also like the fact that while all other FF villains were "Gods" or Demons or Super Men(LOL). Kefka was just an awful human being.
Crow51 4 years ago
looks like you have pretty high levels there?
I completed this with only 2 characters above level 30 (Terra and Sabin). I'm pretty good with them though, I don't die. All I can say is, I love Bum Rush.
I played the Playstation version when I did that, don't know if that makes a difference?
looneyluke888 4 years ago
The only difference was minor translation and magic name differences.

So shut up.
