Chris Mullin having a interview with the great Chick Hearn equals classic. Chick is the best ever in commentary for the NBA. His personality and demeanor is what made him legend.
mully was way underated. Magic said it best " When God created a Basketball player it was CM" Only jumped high enough, only quick enough, only dribbled well enough, shot well enough, for a great carer. ask anyone who ever had to guard him after he scored 30+. In the NBA. What I'm saying is if he needed to jump a little higher he did, move a little quicker he did it, cross somebody up off a dribble he did it. he played with a guile that got it done period. My favorite GSW
i loved having chris back with the organization. the management did him, and mitch wrong with the way they were let go. they will always be warriors to me.
Only if Run TMC could play a little defense, they might have won a championship. But when it comes to offensive continuity, Run TMC were one of the best in the business.
@paternagnstuser Chris Mullin still speaks with a thick Brooklyn accent. I tawk the same way. If he is serious about broadcasting he needs to work on reducing his accent. It isn't a sellout. It's a business decision. FUGGETABOUTIT!
@Loudmouf84 I am all about keeping it real. But money talks. Thick accents can hold you back in life. It stinks but that is the way it is. Some people might be distracted from Mullin's message by his accent. I tawk the same way and sometimes have that issue when speaking publicly. ESPN brawdcasts to the world, not just Brooklyn.
@Jefgg Man, I think that originality is way more appealing to the audience. It's authentic. I watch espn and I get sick from the way their announcers and analysts try to talk so "professional." It's not real. Nobody talks like that in society. The only people that do are wearing suits in front of a camera, and it annoys us in the public. Could you ever handle hearing Charles Barkley try to speak professional?? No, because it's not who he is. If he did, it'd be fake and people would tune out.
U need to respect legends such as Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Alex English, Kevin McHale, Hakeem Olajuwon, etc. that have came before our time and UNDERSTAND THE FACTS LITTLE BOY before you start being all tough on the internet. I think you're a Kobe homer (not that I hate Kobe), but it's people like you that piss me off that want to get attention, now night-night.
Chris Mullin was a class player and I remember he had 4 solid NBA seasons averaging roughly 25 PPG and shooting at a 50%+ clip in that given span of time 1988-1992. His 1992 team I believe averaged some 119PPG and I'm very disappointed that Mitch Richmond and Mr. U-tep Step Tim Hardaway didn't win a title. IN 1990-1991 that team looked real good. Richmond was averaging 20+ppg too!! I guess they lacked a solid rebounder and defenders. But Mullin's injuries decimated a potential great career.
Great interview! Mullin is great, but Chick cracks me up with the word association when he says "Let me throw a word at you... two words, actually: NEW YORK CITY".
I was watching this interview when I was 13 years old and die hard Laker fan
