  • X-38 you mean? I think cancelling the TransHab module was a very, very poor idea. This is the sort of technology we need for long-duration spaceflights outside low earth orbit (hell, that's what TransHab was originally designed for... going to Mars)

  • @Spaceguy5 X-38 looks to be the winner! I wasn't aware of the X-38 at the time I posted this...they are similar delta shapes but the tails are different. Also have been looking for the original animations of transhab but can't find them on Nasa's site.

  • damn, sorry. I am aware that it isnt a Bigelow module (although obviously the Bigelow modules are direct descendants of the Transhab).

Its just that I arrived at this video while looking for some info on the Bigelow predecessors, so I had "Bigelow" in my head, and considering this transhab is so similar to the BA330, I just forgot it was a video about Transhab, haha.

  • is it just me or the animation shows a X-33 docked in the opposite side to the Bigelow module?

  • @rogerpenna Ha, that is a good catch. It is so subtle I had forgotten the X-33 was even in this simulation video. To be clear however, that is not the Bigelow module, that is a simulation of NASA's Transhab concept prior to project funding being cut and the rights transferred to Bigelow Aerospace.

  • Or, if it isn't the X-33 then it certainly is something similar...
