@ehta01 maybe I'm being rude for no reason, some songs sound right for organ, some not so much - have you never heard this piece on a piano or an orchestra WOW, I am not criticising your skill, but if you played this on a piano it would be out of this world as you have the ability, but the organ is just too much uknow?
@ehta01 Well, Saint-Saens actually wrote it for orchestra. But this is one of those remarkable cases where the organ transcription may be as good as (or even better than) the original. Organ transcription by Edwin Lemare.
@ehta01@TheCurtthehurt This is a slightly adapted version of Edwin Lemare's organ transcription. However, the original Lemare's score cannot be found / downloaded from the web because of copyright issues. It can be purchased from a number of sheet music dealers, including bardon-music (dot) com and wayneleupold (dot) com

I am a pianist and I m working on this piece....I am struck by the magnitude of the organ, of which I don't know much....Congratulations, very well done indeed....!! Impressed
a belated response to this deepbluehue, but its not as unusual as you might think. Danse Macabre is actually a very old concept dating back to the middle ages to show the inevitability of death and the fleeting nature of material life. There are a lot of old churches and tombs decorated with bones and even depictions of danse macabres to show this. in a time when the majority of people couldn`t read it was a powerful image indeed.
Just so you know that I have been obsessed with this video, not mildly impressed. This organist really is a great musician and takes this piece to the level it deserves. LOVE IT.
This is a fantastic organist :P I admire his interpretation of this piece, and the suond of the organ is very good.
I would like to play "Dance Macabre" on the Pipe Organ of my city, and I have a question for all the people: where can I find the score of this piece?
wow i gotta post again, thats always been one of my favorite songs and Ive never even thought of hearing it played entirely on an organ, Raul is amazingly gifted, and enthusiastic! 10 stars!
This video gave me the chills and that means that he is playing one of my favorite pieces on one of my favorite instruments. Danse Macabre is a powerful piece of mucic and the pipe organ is also a very powerful instrument. The two together was out of this world. The best part is the enjoyment he gets from playing Danse Macabre. As far as previous comments go, he is playing it all by hand. If you look closely at the white knobs you will see the stops changing as he hits the preset pedal button.
Okay, wait a minute, I talked to Mr. Ramìrez personally: he explained me that the Matarò organ has *NO SEQUENCER*, and only SIX combination toe pistons, which are NOT enough for all the stop changes needed throughout the Danza Macabra. So he used the pistons, but had to integrate them with several stop changes by hand. The instrument was built in 1927 and modified/reworked in 1974. There aren't any electronics: the memories are electromechanical.
Great work! This version by E. H. Lemare has a buch of registration changes, which are very difficult to execute without a good combination action mechanism. Felicidades!!! Me encanto la interpretación. Las diferentes texturas del organo tubular dan una extraordinaria riqueza a la obra.
