I can go and shake the hand of the person who made your automobile and before he died, I could do the same with Mr Da Vinci. Just because you think the Universe was created by an intelligent entity doesn't mean it was created by a thing that men created called God. Why not a giant hamster, or a large kosher pickle?
No No, much better to create a fairy tale friend and make him your own personal creator.
@lucavigg I would like to see you shake the hand of Leonardo da Vinci. But how do you know da Vinci existed if you have never seen him? You may base it off of his works, but that would prove Mr. Comfort's point. You could say from witness accounts or historical records, but if you haven't seen da Vinci then you have to take their word for it. You have faith that someone existed though you have neve seen him, but you have no faith in God who is still living?
@branchbros I did say "before he died, I could do the same with Da Vinci', but I'm happy to leave it in the present and shake hands with designers who are still alive, if that fulfils your need for absolute accuracy in all things. I'm very happy that you have faith and if it comforts you when thinking about death, then that's great. The point is that Ray has not proved the existence of God here, as he promised to do. BTW, if everything has a designer, who designed God?
@lucavigg But I'm saying, according to your comment, how can you know to shake his hand if you've never seen him before; you're a;ready believing his existence before your own method of reasoning is complete. I didn't say that Ray proved his point, I just said your comment is flawed to the point that you can't believe one without the other. And noone designed God because he existed before time and space and always will exist.
@lucavigg You have never seen da Vinci, yet you assume that you could shake his hand because you believe he existed based upon other people's writings. But you are so quick to deny God's existence even thought the same logic applies to him. Understand now?
@branchbros Yes please dumb it down a bit! I'm just a simple person with lower than average intelligence who loves being patronised on Youtube. We covered this, two messages ago.
By the way, the guy who designed my car is still alive. His name's Sven. It's a Saab!
When someone starts to patronise, conversation over.
@lucavigg Oh don't go anywhere! I was just poking fun a bit! I'm sure you're an intelligent human being who has a conscious and can put two and two together. And what if Mr. "Sven" died and was cremated. All I'm saying is that it is unwise to dismiss truth simply because you cannot see it.
Einstein - March 24, 1954: "It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
Einstein believed in "Spinoza's God", not a personal god.
I'm on a rock that spins, spins around a ball of fire in a galaxy so vast that short of time travel it cannot be crossed in a single life span, with a indescribeable black hole at its center, a galaxy that is one of perhaps millions of galaxies in what must be an endless space lest you encounter a paradox...(what's on the other side of the wall). Believers Vs Unbelievers? In the end not are destined to be reconnected to their source....Thankfully none of us really know who's who...not yet.
there is no way this universe could exist without God!! i love Jesus. <3
so many people claim to believe in things like love or gravity which cant be seen and yet they can exist. i dont understand how anyone could not believe in God and all the beautiful things He created.
@zuzka0012 gravity can be demonstrated with experiments. Love is a label we put on the emotional response we get when we value another person more than usual. To prove god you have to do two things: define god for me (because everyone has a different definition), and provide evidence that a god exists. It's really not asking too much. All I require is evidence.
Life and space never had a beginning. Space is eternal. it has ALWAYS! existed because, the universe was never created to begin with Ray. And if in fact, thermodynamics is wrong (which it isn't) who created your god? Who is the builder of the builder? exactly. NO ONE!
Ray. you are a fucking MORON!. Read up on the third law of Thermodynamics and physics. that is how life came into being. We didn't "come from nothing". It is your "god" ray that created something out of nothing. That is a christian claim, not a secular one.
Why ignorant people talk about stuff that they don't understand? It is like me talking about how to make a symphony. I have no clue. Imagine a conference on symphony making calling me to explain why Beethoven symphony was a piece of crap and give some childish explanation about and they would give me even television time.
Ray is a fucking genius! How else could something exist without a creator? It is obvious that EVERYTHING THAT 'IS' MUST HAVE BEEN -Hey Wait a minute....Who created God then? Isn't God's existiance PROOF of his creator???? Jackass.
Hawking and Sagan explaining the Big Bang. The universe may have always existed and run in cycles. i.e. -> Singularity - expansion - collapse - singularity.
what make is it????a it was made in the 1900's by henry ford the first automobile...its purpose was for transportation..why the hell does this man compare a car with human anatomy..fucking hilarious...epic fail
First mistake right off the bat - most English words, including "scientific", do not break down simply to their etymological meanings, but often carry a wealth of additional meaning added by the borrowing language! Moral - don't try to do linguistic analysis when you've never studied the field.
All of these men were far more intelligent than anyone living today.
Atheists these days are considered the most lost and clueless people on planet Earth... who thinks that nothing created something?! lol. nothing created a tree, nothing created matter.. It goes against every fact and law taught in physics, chemistry, and biology.
@HermannTheGreat so explain creationism? god created the earth out of what then? nothing. then he created man out of? yup. dirt. im pretty sure that a man made out of dirt goes against every law taught in anything ever. Clueless? According to you, Bill Gates is clueless. Warren Buffet is clueless. Carl Sagan is clueless. Richard Dawkins is clueless. Marie Curie was clueless. John Lennon was clueless. Watson and Crick are clueless. Freud was clueless. And many more. I'm sorry, you're hopeless.
@LoLiTzOmg You're banging your head against a rock trying to compare mentally average men Bill Gates or Watson and Crick with men like Galileo or Isaac Newton lol.
@HermannTheGreat Your first argument is an argument from authority.
Your second argument is ignorant of what an actual atheist accepts (strawman). What I accept is that one can accept many definitions for God (Albert Einstein, for example, ascribed to Spinoza's God).
What do you say is God and why do you believe he exists?
Creation of matter? Pure unsubstantiated speculation. Did matter have to be created, as far as we can tell? Please justify yourself and define your god.
@Pichounator The sole authority of all things is the Bible, and I see you are very interested in who God is and what he has done. The Bible reveals the truth about who God is and what he has done and is doing now. If you want to know about him you can read his word the Bible, so I wholeheartedly recommend you go read it and you will have the answers you seek.
Mentally average? If they are mentally average, i would like to see you come out with a scientific or technological breakthrough like that. We've pushed farther than Galileo and Newton, but no one notices because they are regarded as the fathers of those fields. and Watson and Crick discovered the structure of DNA, which has led to hundreds of breakthroughs in genetics. To think that's average, youve got to be brain dead. which must explain why u believe in god.
I know that creationists have said some stupid things, but Ray may have just made me 20 IQ points stupider. Which might have been the point because studies show that the lower your IQ the more likely you are to believe in god. (lower case intended)
@ZeroContentSF And what studies are they? So did people like Galileo, Isaac Newton, Robert Boyle, Gregor Mendel and William Kelvin have low IQs? Were they stupid? Because they all advanced science whilst believing in God.
@ZeroContentSF And there are even creationist scientists around today, post Charles Darwin. Such as Dr William Arion (chemistry), Paul Ackerman (psychologist), Steve Austin (geologist), Rob Carter (marine biologist), Harold Coffin (palaeontologist) and there are many others. So do these guys have low IQs? Seriously, it is possible to believe in both creation and science, just as it is to believe in evolution and science.
Which is a human concept. Wouldn't it be humanly logical to choose a way of thinking that yielded the most positive result? Christians believe that their faith in Jesus Christ and repentance of their sins will yield them everlasting life. Isn't that a pleasant thought? And isn't it plausible that they chose that belief system because it sounds better than being dumped in a grave to decompose and that's it? Many religions were simply enforced through scare tactics - a good way to control people.
@jmc7586 Atheists believe that there is no real consequence to immoral behavior, that they can do whatever they want. Isn't it a pleasant thuoght? And isn't plausible that they chose this belief system because it sound better than being cast into hell fire for their sexual immorality and other depravity and that's it? Many atheistic religions were simply enfoced through scare tactics (Soviet and Chinese socialist regimes) -- a good way to control people.
Ultimately you can't use humanly rational thinking to prove the existence of something spiritual. Human rationality dictates that everything has a beginning & an end. But when you ponder what there was before God's beginning, you can't come to a rational conclusion. Hence why Christians say the answer is that God has been & always will be. Is it possible that Christians choose the easiest explanation to suit their purposes, and their beliefs are based on them taking the path of least resistance?
@jmc7586 One of the attributes that separates God from other entities is that he is eternal; you pose a confused question, "ponder God's beginning." God has no beginning, not because Christians just "came up with it" (where did you go to school?), but because that is one of his attributes. Aristotle concluded as much for his uncaused, first cause. his Prme Mover. Aristotle concluded by reason that God by definition is eternal; if he isn't eternal, he's not God. It's very straight forward.
@ytuseruber So how was it, being there eternally with God all along? Because that's the only way you can say for a fact that God is eternal. Since you were most likely born in the last century, then I know for a fact that you cannot prove through human rationality that God has always existed, for the simple fact that YOU have not always existed. And way to not prove a point; you just replaced "Christian" with "Atheist". I wasn't comparing Christians to Atheists, I was pointing out how irrational
@jmc7586 You're being irrational. The eternality of the first cause is something inferred by reason and sound philosophical analysis; one doesn't have to be eternal in order to infer an eternal entity or being. You're approaching this the way you are because you're ignorant of all of the great minds that have preceded you and don't understand that these things have long been reasoned upon and analyzed. At this point, I would encourage you to speak less, listen more and be open to the facts.
@ytuseruber So just because you can't come up with an answer to when God was created, you then reason that he must be eternal? Well that's not very rational at all. Remember the old Salem witch trial phrase, "If she sinks, she's human; if she floats, she's a witch"? Well, if the woman floated, then "maybe" she was a witch, but "maybe" she was human and it was something else causing her to float. The point I'm trying to get across is that YOU aren't being open to all possibilities.
@ytuseruber Christians and their beliefs are. I agree with you that the same can be said about Atheists. So you coming back at me by flipping the coin really served to prove no real purpose. The truth is that no one is right. Ultimately, for all we know, God could be the Wizard of Oz, pulling the wool over all of our eyes. But who are any of us to claim to know absolute truth?
You don't need a builder or a painter for a building or a painting to exist. Those things could have appeared out of thin air. You don't know that they were built or painted, or if it magically materialized. Just the same way that you don't know if there is God or there isn't; if he made everything or everything made itself. God's existence will be proven when he makes himself known to you. "But 'seeing' is just a human way of thinking; you need faith to know he exists." -_- I rest my case.
@oJKBo A very profound conundrum you put all believers in. It's funny how they preach to you that all creation had a creator, God, and therefore he, as the creator, must exist because everything, the creation, exists. And when you ask "Who made God?" they say, "Well God was already here." That doesn't help their credibility any if they can't back up their claims with anything more than irrational excuses.
@oJKBo per what we know God is the past/present and future, per the defition in dictionaries "the supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe" so i guess by being the most powerful being he has been there from the beginning and will always be there
@oJKBo Confused question. Only that which has a beginning requires a cause. God is eternal, and indeed is the cause of all; he doesn't require a "maker" as God is unmade. This is really basic level information and evidences a lack of understanding of the issues on your part.
@ytuseruber LOL i'm so much younger than you and yet i'm clearly FAR more intelligent. If you're coming at the existence of god from a scientific standpoint (lol) what makes the existence of just one god more plausible than the existence of thousands of others? What makes christianity more plausible than hinduism? Go tell your priest to stop raping kids, kthxbai
@oJKBo We're complete strangers, you know nothing about me; as you mature, you'll understand how to discourse with people you may disagree with in an intelligent, restrained, civilized manner. Right now, you're simply ranting out of your insecurities and frustrations. I don't have a "priest" and really that has no rational bearing on anything being discussed. Remember -- there are people in the world you will disagree with, you need to restrain yourself and simply state your case. No insults.
@ytuseruber lol i know that you think these two jokes are actually intelligent. "A banana is proof that god exists"--HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Frustrations--of course i'm frustrated. When i look around at the world and see a history of bloodshed, a history of enslavement and hatred, i wonder how blokes like you can run around saying that it's just the people that are crazy. You do have a priest and he rapes little kids every night.
" If the earth is evidence for god, then god must also have a maker. "
That's not a valid statment, because first you have to ask your self a fundamental question.....Does the universe have a beginning or not?, if No is your answer then you are going against what physical cosmology explains, and if your answer is yes, then what created it?.....Nothing or somthing? if you say nothing then please don't call it science, and if you say somthing, then you have to agree it is eternal.
@Mostafaqasemdarx if the earth has a maker then god must have a maker because 'god' made the earth. Every intelligent mind on the plant agrees on how the earth was made. It had nothing to do with religion. The earth was created following the big bang
@oJKBo ...GOD created time!...HE sits outside of time......ur question points to ur limited insight...its actually not a good question..GOD is eternal....has ALWAYS been...ALWAYS will be.......when HE folds time up,then we will experience eternity.....either W HIM..or W/O HIM...HE is the ONE who BANGED the Earth into existence!!
@WaltonSauce But having said that, this Ray Comfort guy is clearly a moron and I just feel sorry for Kirk Cameron. Also, the argument goes: P1. Things WHICH BEGIN must have a cause P2. The universe began with the big bang C. Therefore, something eternal ("the unmoved mover") (at some point in the chain) caused our universe to start.
It's pretty strong actually and, from what I've seen so far, can only (possibly) be refuted by updating/improving our concept of causation.
"It was the beginning of the universe and of time itself, anything that happened before the big bang could have no effect on what happened after"
Also just because everything that happens inside the universe has a cause, doesn't mean the universe as a whole had a cause, look up fallacy of composition. Also the laws of physics etc do not apply at ot before the big bang.
@WaltonSauce So if a God did not create the Universe. Then what did? I would rather believe The true God made the Universe, then it have been made by a random "big bang".
Depends on the claim. Take the big bang for example, we have the predictions of general relativity. The expansion of the universe. Cosmic microwave background etc.
@WaltonSauce dude the big bang is such a lie 95% of the scientist that talk about it don't even believe in it. it makes no sense ether, i mean think about it, a random explosion that happened for no reason, managed to make the solar system is such a way to have life survive on one planet out of all the planets the we have found.
@WaltonSauce ok then, tell em how it makes sense in the most basic way. and by the way I have been doing research on this kind of stuff for 4-5 years. I know about the big bang theory. which it is just a Theory. no one has ever proved it happened. Just like no one has ever disproved that God is not real.
"no one has ever disproved that God is not real." No-one has to burden of proof is on YOU if you claim he is.
And you clearly haven't been doing research on the big bang or you'd actually know something about it.
Big bang is this: At one time the whole universe was in a singularity, this then expanded and the universe is still expanding. That is the simplest way of explaining it.
And you clearly have no idea what a scientific theory is.
A scientific theory comprises a collection of concepts, including abstractions of observable phenomena expressed as quantifiable properties, together with rules (called scientific laws) that express relationships between observations of such concepts. A scientific theory is constructed to conform to available empirical data about such observations, and is put forth as a principle or body of principles for explaining a class of phenomena.
@WaltonSauce The Bible says in Genesis Chapter 1 that God spoke the universe into existence. The Bible also says that God is continually stretching out the universe because he is still in the process on creating. And here is an interesting fact for u. The word universe in two Latin words the first word being Uni (single) and the second being Verse (spoken sentence). So the universe is a Single spoken sentence.
@WaltonSauce regardless, life on this planet is way to complex to have just randomly spawned out of nothing. I hope u will wake one day and realize that the stuff u r saying makes no sense. we can argue about this until we r both blue in the face, but the fact of the matter is one of us is wrong. and I know because of the inspired Word of God I am right.
@WaltonSauce hey WalltonSauce. the best proof i can give you is that the phrase 'thus saith the Lord' and other phrases like it is written in the bible more than 3000 times. and i think another major problem comes with biblical accuracy i believe. well if you look there have been more than 25,000 excavation sites (archeological) that prove the bible true none have come up to prove it false. hopefully i have helped give a little insight into your question :)
the real mt. sinai, jabal al lawz, in Saudi arabia, proved the biblical story of Moses... thats why the Saudis blocked it off and restricted access to it
Alone, no it doesn't. But combined with genetics and other recent advancements in biology and archaeology it certainly lends one hell of a lot of support to it.
going to have to disagree, many scientific advancements, genetics and etc are actually showing a strong case for intelligent design as well, so the scientific world divided in this area as well, i've looked into both sides of the research/evidence, both side present creditable evidence,
@oJKBo That's actually not a refutation. Only things which begin must have a cause according to the logic. IMHO, it's atheists like you who really dumb down atheism so that more intelligent Christians have a more difficult time stepping out because they see idiots on both sides. Anyway, the (apparently) correct argument is the argument that demonstrates that we have a faulty perception of causation. See The Art and Science of Causation by Judea Pearl. Better bone up before someone converts u
ive been raised in a christian family and i believe in god, but it seems like christians believe in god for selfish reasons only by the way they talk and try to persuade people to join Christianity. like they say believe in god so that something u want will happen or that something good will happen. it just seems like they are using god really.like if you want to acquire all of your interests and dont want to burn for eternity then believe in god.lol. of coarse someone is going to want that.lol
Very good vid. If ppl can't understand that there's a God after watching this vid, then most likely they never will. I suggest to them that they give God their heart, cry out to God and talk to God personally by asking God to in some way to help them understand that he's real and personal. Ask God for personal revelation(s).. so U can come to know and understand your maker. God is GREAT!!! and he will reveal himself to U in some way or other, in which he did in this vid.
Thanks Ray, bit by bit you reveal the idiocy and intellectual charade of a sky daddy. It is not possible to find a better illustrator of the absurd. The deeper he digs the weaker his argument.
Here At Now You See TV We do Christian Video Testimonies of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how people have come to find him as real in their life. If you could checkout our videos, leave us some feedback, and subscribe to our channel we would greatly appreciate it, or at least stop by and say hi. Also if you have a testimony of How the Lord has changed your life personally we would love to hear it.
Its funny how hard it is for Ray Comfort to understand that we derived from monkeys. Listen to his ramblings for 5 minutes and it will be a lot less hard.
@mit871chell Wether a human is a adapted form of an ape or of a monkey might be relevant to a biologist. Both are mammals and the differences there are small.
There so much wrong with this video I don't know where to start. The problem I'm having lately is that everything that needed to be said to debunk this shit was said in the debate, and yet these clowns still believe, and I'm the one who's supposed to have a closed mind - go fuck yourself Ray and while try getting a clue or maybe just buy a vowel.
Ok so if god "built" our organs why do they fail. Also if we were created in gods image why do people need glasses if everyone was made by the same person?
@Mnelsen85 They'll consistently answer that one with the doctrine of original sin, asserting that it's corrupting influence is the source of our worldly ills.
Who gets more hate the christian or the atheist? Why do i ask sutch a question? Because something came on my mind and it came out so someone could reply to my question.
Uh, that would be Christians? Unless, of course, you can point to any atheist, even just one, that was killed for his belief??? (or lack thereof?)
Thousands upon thousands of Christians have been martyred for their belief in G_d, and yet we keep on believing. Would any atheists have such courage of conviction if they were targeted and killed?
Funny how he explains how complex our eyes and our "air conditioner" is but fails to touch on vestigial organs. I guess God got a little drunk one night and threw some useless ish in our bodies to compliment the well designed stuff.
Which "vestigial organs" (plural) were you referring to? I hope not the appendix! As a matter of fact, it was scientifically postulated within the last year that the appendix does indeed have a purpose after all. It serves as a repository of gut bacteria that acts as a reservoir to replenish the gut with good bacteria. (Google it) Curious, isnt it, how slow and sluggish science is in figuring things out?
So, which other so-called "vestigial organs" did you have in mind?

About Ray's theory that humans are the only species to punish wrong doers. Completely ignorant yet again. Crows for example will kill a member of their group if he/she fails to make a warning call when a predator approaches. He simply combines his ideas with a fabricated idea of the natural world to support his claims. He never second guesses himself because god is correct for some reason and so too should he be. This man is a criminal for calling his lies truth.
I don't actually have anything to give you on this one. It was part of an ecology course I took. We did a unit on social animals and language. In essence it seems to be a trail by mob.
Comfort's design argument is ridiculous. He's taking something that we know is man made and is designed and assuming it is comparable to the formation of the universe, which has never been observed. He's assuming exactly what he's trying to prove, and therefore proves absolutely nothing.
"It was, of course, a lie what you read about my religious convictions, a lie which is being systematically repeated. I do not believe in a personal God and I have never denied this but have expressed it clearly. If something is in me which can be called religious then it is the unbounded admiration for the structure of the world so far as our science can reveal it."
Ray Comfort offers Christian Apologetics in very simple and understandable terms. The Lord is no doubt using him to reach the unsaved. Soli Deo Gloria!
I disagree, for you to believe they are true he must provide evidence and proof. If I claim that gravity exists yet offer no substantial proof, does that mean it' doesn't exist? Of course not, but according to your formula this is what you are saying.
Gravity is in the world of reality. Your "god' ISN"T! In science, if gravity was believed to be existent minus evidence, then scientists would be intellectually honest enough to say that they hypothesize it exists YET we lack evidence to back it up. In other words, scientists will not say they have a theory without the evidence to back it up. Your god MIGHT EXIST. Elves MIGHT exist. FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTERS MIGHT EXIST.
Dillahunty vs god is a great video. Thanks for the heads up berringer!
Okay, but again... even if a scientist says "we believe gravity exists, but have no evidence so for now this is a hypothesis", does that mean that gravity doesn't exist? No, it doesn't. Gravity indeed does exist, the scientists just didn't prove it.
Also, you said God isn't reality, but then you say He might exist... that is a contradiction.
@Z3PP3L1NF4N4T1C how do I know you exists...there is no evidence of you. just cause i dont know you doesnt mean you dont exist. just because I cant see you doesnt mean you exist. God exist because people respond to him either with hate or love either to deny or to yield of his existence.
your very wrong..i dont need to have faith in a builder..i can take a look at his previous work and make wise choice ..dont use construction ex to bring your point across....how could you say we put our mids on a pedistal..i think its harder being a non believer..your a fucking robot.
man just imagine how badly ray was crapping himself in the days leading up to this debate....I mean guys like him have to know they have no argument dont they?
if you could reason with religious people... there wouldn't be religious people. Atheists are not 'close minded' simply, you cannot reason with irrational people, and it gets frustrating dealing with blatant stupidity
The fact is that there is no evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed as depicted in the bible. (Reed, J. L. Archaeology and the Galilean Jesus: A Re-examination of the Evidence. Harrisburg, PA: Trinity Press International, 2000. vii + p.145)
Perhaps it is an easy answer for a though question. But just because an answer is easy doesn't make it any more incorrect then if it was much more difficult.
I know through my own experiences with God that he is real. If I was the only one with these experiences it wouldn't be much evidence for God's existence. However I know there are hundreds just in my church with similar or greater experiences and millions elsewhere.
What experiences are these? lucky events or family members recovering form an illness isn't divine intervention, it's just luck (being in the right place at the right time etc.) . But i ask you this, Why is it possible for your god to be eternal? Why can't the universe be eternal?
No it's not about family members recovering from an illness, although i have seen several people who have. Also, there are "experiences" that could be explained as pure luck and also those that can't, as God works through both the natural and the supernatural. But even for these "lucky" events, i find it very difficult to dismiss them as luck when they happen time after time after time.
Also as i said a few comments back God is omnipresent meaning he can be everywhere not bound by space or time. On the other hand, as you probably know, the universe is expanding as we speak and if we were to rewind our time far enough, the universe would be a single point. So it can't be eternal
that is a bold statement for something we know so little about, it could be possible the universe goes through a cycle renewal, e.g. the universe expands after the big bang and how ever long later the crunch comes ( universe withdrawing back together) it is not impossible for the universe to be eternal and you cannot say it cant be.
there's absolutely no evidence of the universe going through a cycle renewal. So you're accepting it through pure faith. Also after about 5 seconds of googling I found a site that refutes that hypothesis. I don't really know how to summarise it so you can havea look yourself.
i seem to be having trouble posting the comment with the website.. I typed eternal universe into google and it was the fourth link
I never said i believed in that statement, it was just an example. But this still doesn't mean the universe cant be eternal, matter cant be created or destroyed... there always has been and always will be the same amount of matter, so this suggests an eternal universe which has far better evidence than an eternal god.
if you're suggesting that there was matter before the creation of the universe or before the big bang, then you must ask yourself, why the "matter" that supposedly existed for an eternity suddenly decided to explode on itself. You'll find that it is impossible without outside help. So in the end even if matter existed for an eternity, we'd still need a God to start the actual universe
You dont need someone to push a button for an explosion to happen, and we cannot say becuase we don't know what happen that it must be god that did it!
No we don't need to push a button for an explosion... but only in a finite universe. We're talking about an eternal universe. If the universe was eternal then it'd have to be a static universe and if that universe happened to explode by itself, why didn't it explode an eternity before? The only explanation would be an external stimulus triggered the explosion. And the only logical thing thats not within our universe seems to be God

@branchbros Congratulations. That makes no sense at all.

When someone starts to patronise, conversation over.
lucavigg 3 weeks ago
@lucavigg Oh don't go anywhere! I was just poking fun a bit! I'm sure you're an intelligent human being who has a conscious and can put two and two together. And what if Mr. "Sven" died and was cremated. All I'm saying is that it is unwise to dismiss truth simply because you cannot see it.

Ray Comfort is very dishonest.

Creation of matter? Pure unsubstantiated speculation. Did matter have to be created, as far as we can tell? Please justify yourself and define your god.

Many religions were simply enforced through scare tactics - a good way to control people.
jmc7586 1 year ago
@jmc7586 Atheists believe that there is no real consequence to immoral behavior, that they can do whatever they want. Isn't it a pleasant thuoght? And isn't plausible that they chose this belief system because it sound better than being cast into hell fire for their sexual immorality and other depravity and that's it? Many atheistic religions were simply enfoced through scare tactics (Soviet and Chinese socialist regimes) -- a good way to control people.
ytuseruber 11 months ago
Ultimately you can't use humanly rational thinking to prove the existence of something spiritual. Human rationality dictates that everything has a beginning & an end. But when you ponder what there was before God's beginning, you can't come to a rational conclusion. Hence why Christians say the answer is that God has been & always will be. Is it possible that Christians choose the easiest explanation to suit their purposes, and their beliefs are based on them taking the path of least resistance?
jmc7586 1 year ago
@jmc7586 One of the attributes that separates God from other entities is that he is eternal; you pose a confused question, "ponder God's beginning." God has no beginning, not because Christians just "came up with it" (where did you go to school?), but because that is one of his attributes. Aristotle concluded as much for his uncaused, first cause. his Prme Mover. Aristotle concluded by reason that God by definition is eternal; if he isn't eternal, he's not God. It's very straight forward.
ytuseruber 11 months ago
@ytuseruber So how was it, being there eternally with God all along? Because that's the only way you can say for a fact that God is eternal. Since you were most likely born in the last century, then I know for a fact that you cannot prove through human rationality that God has always existed, for the simple fact that YOU have not always existed. And way to not prove a point; you just replaced "Christian" with "Atheist". I wasn't comparing Christians to Atheists, I was pointing out how irrational
jmc7586 11 months ago
@jmc7586 You're being irrational. The eternality of the first cause is something inferred by reason and sound philosophical analysis; one doesn't have to be eternal in order to infer an eternal entity or being. You're approaching this the way you are because you're ignorant of all of the great minds that have preceded you and don't understand that these things have long been reasoned upon and analyzed. At this point, I would encourage you to speak less, listen more and be open to the facts.
ytuseruber 11 months ago
@ytuseruber So just because you can't come up with an answer to when God was created, you then reason that he must be eternal? Well that's not very rational at all. Remember the old Salem witch trial phrase, "If she sinks, she's human; if she floats, she's a witch"? Well, if the woman floated, then "maybe" she was a witch, but "maybe" she was human and it was something else causing her to float. The point I'm trying to get across is that YOU aren't being open to all possibilities.
jmc7586 11 months ago
@ytuseruber Christians and their beliefs are. I agree with you that the same can be said about Atheists. So you coming back at me by flipping the coin really served to prove no real purpose. The truth is that no one is right. Ultimately, for all we know, God could be the Wizard of Oz, pulling the wool over all of our eyes. But who are any of us to claim to know absolute truth?
jmc7586 11 months ago

And when you ask "Who made God?" they say, "Well God was already here." That doesn't help their credibility any if they can't back up their claims with anything more than irrational excuses.
jmc7586 1 year ago
@oJKBo per what we know God is the past/present and future, per the defition in dictionaries "the supernatural being conceived as the perfect and omnipotent and omniscient originator and ruler of the universe" so i guess by being the most powerful being he has been there from the beginning and will always be there
sepirocth 1 year ago
@oJKBo Confused question. Only that which has a beginning requires a cause. God is eternal, and indeed is the cause of all; he doesn't require a "maker" as God is unmade. This is really basic level information and evidences a lack of understanding of the issues on your part.
ytuseruber 11 months ago
@ytuseruber LOL i'm so much younger than you and yet i'm clearly FAR more intelligent. Remember -- there are people in the world you will disagree with, you need to restrain yourself and simply state your case. No insults.

oJKBo 11 months ago
@oJKBo
Mostafaqasemdarx 11 months ago

WaltonSauce 6 months ago
@WaltonSauce But having said that, this Ray Comfort guy is clearly a moron and I just feel sorry for Kirk Cameron. Also, the argument goes: P1. Things WHICH BEGIN must have a cause P2. The universe began with the big bang C. Therefore, something eternal ("the unmoved mover") (at some point in the chain) caused our universe to start.
It's pretty strong actually and, from what I've seen so far, can only (possibly) be refuted by updating/improving our concept of causation.
rgs11 6 months ago
@rgs11
Look up the cyclic model of the universe.
And to quote Stephen Hawking
"It was the beginning of the universe and of time itself, anything that happened before the big bang could have no effect on what happened after"
Also just because everything that happens inside the universe has a cause, doesn't mean the universe as a whole had a cause, look up fallacy of composition. Also the laws of physics etc do not apply at ot before the big bang.
WaltonSauce 6 months ago
@WaltonSauce So if a God did not create the Universe. Then what did? I would rather believe The true God made the Universe, then it have been made by a random "big bang".

1ChevZR1 3 months ago

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.
WaltonSauce 3 months ago
@WaltonSauce dude the big bang is such a lie 95% of the scientist that talk about it don't even believe in it. it makes no sense ether, i mean think about it, a random explosion that happened for no reason, managed to make the solar system is such a way to have life survive on one planet out of all the planets the we have found.

WaltonSauce 3 months ago
@WaltonSauce ok then, tell em how it makes sense in the most basic way. and by the way I have been doing research on this kind of stuff for 4-5 years. 1ChevZR1 3 months ago
@1ChevZR1
WaltonSauce 3 months ago
@1ChevZR1

ReasonsMinistry 2 years ago
ray comfort offers apologetics. okay! he just doesn't offer truth or facts.
fredmelmackian 2 years ago
You aren't convinced that he offers truth or facts, that doesn't mean his claims are not true.
ReasonsMinistry 2 years ago
For Comfort's opinions and assertions to be true, he must provide evidence and proof. He never does that.
It's not on anyone to prove Comfort's opinions and assertions wrong- the onus is on Comfort to prove his opinions and assertions right.
Comfort refuses to discuss debating Matt Dillahunty. Why? Because he knows Matt will kick his ass?
Matt Dillahunty has already kicked god's ass. See Dillahunty vs god by postitnoteguy.
berringerfan 2 years ago
I disagree, for you to believe they are true he must provide evidence and proof. If I claim that gravity exists yet offer no substantial proof, does that mean it' doesn't exist? Of course not, but according to your formula this is what you are saying.
ReasonsMinistry 2 years ago
Gravity is in the world of reality. Your "god' ISN"T! In science, if gravity was believed to be existent minus evidence, then scientists would be intellectually honest enough to say that they hypothesize it exists YET we lack evidence to back it up. In other words, scientists will not say they have a theory without the evidence to back it up. Your god MIGHT EXIST. Elves MIGHT exist. FLYING SPAGHETTI MONSTERS MIGHT EXIST.
Dillahunty vs god is a great video. Thanks for the heads up berringer!
stevieh4810 2 years ago
Okay, but again... even if a scientist says "we believe gravity exists, but have no evidence so for now this is a hypothesis", does that mean that gravity doesn't exist? No, it doesn't. Gravity indeed does exist, the scientists just didn't prove it.
Also, you said God isn't reality, but then you say He might exist... that is a contradiction.
ReasonsMinistry 2 years ago
How could you hypothesize that something exists if there is no evidence for it?
Z3PP3L1NF4N4T1C 1 year ago 4
@Z3PP3L1NF4N4T1C Doohoohood.............
There's a difference between having evidence which may OR MAY NOT support the claim and proving the claim, genius.
And then, in answer to your stupid question, assuming it made sense: Very easily!
Here, I'll hypothesize a few things which don't exist and for which there is no evidence.
1. A free lunch
2. Your imaginary friend's imaginary friend
3. Your sex life
4. Your brain

@Z3PP3L1NF4N4T1C how do I know you exists...there is no evidence of you. just cause i dont know you doesnt mean you dont exist. just because I cant see you doesnt mean you exist. God exist because people respond to him either with hate or love either to deny or to yield of his existence.

The fact is that there is no evidence that Jesus Christ ever existed as depicted in the bible. (Reed, J. L. Archaeology and the Galilean Jesus: A Re-examination of the Evidence. Harrisburg, PA: Trinity Press International, 2000. vii + p.145)

hmm everything must have a creator according to Ray, so who created god?
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
God does not need a creator because he is omnipresent, meaning he's not bound by time like us. So he does not have a beginning or an end.
kennyas1 2 years ago
So everything counts for everyone else.. apart from him?
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
Yep. cause he created everything. The creator isn't bound by the laws of the creation
kennyas1 2 years ago
So basically he is an easy answer to a tough question?
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
Perhaps it is an easy answer for a though question. But just because an answer is easy doesn't make it any more incorrect then if it was much more difficult.
I know through my own experiences with God that he is real. If I was the only one with these experiences it wouldn't be much evidence for God's existence. However I know there are hundreds just in my church with similar or greater experiences and millions elsewhere.
kennyas1 2 years ago
What experiences are these? lucky events or family members recovering form an illness isn't divine intervention, it's just luck (being in the right place at the right time etc.) . But i ask you this, Why is it possible for your god to be eternal? Why can't the universe be eternal?
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
No it's not about family members recovering from an illness, although i have seen several people who have. Also, there are "experiences" that could be explained as pure luck and also those that can't, as God works through both the natural and the supernatural. But even for these "lucky" events, i find it very difficult to dismiss them as luck when they happen time after time after time.
kennyas1 2 years ago
Also as i said a few comments back God is omnipresent meaning he can be everywhere not bound by space or time. On the other hand, as you probably know, the universe is expanding as we speak and if we were to rewind our time far enough, the universe would be a single point. So it can't be eternal
kennyas1 2 years ago
that is a bold statement for something we know so little about, it could be possible the universe goes through a cycle renewal, e.g. the universe expands after the big bang and how ever long later the crunch comes ( universe withdrawing back together) it is not impossible for the universe to be eternal and you cannot say it cant be.
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
there's absolutely no evidence of the universe going through a cycle renewal. So you're accepting it through pure faith. Also after about 5 seconds of googling I found a site that refutes that hypothesis. I don't really know how to summarise it so you can havea look yourself.
i seem to be having trouble posting the comment with the website.. I typed eternal universe into google and it was the fourth link
kennyas1 2 years ago
I never said i believed in that statement, it was just an example. But this still doesn't mean the universe cant be eternal, matter cant be created or destroyed... there always has been and always will be the same amount of matter, so this suggests an eternal universe which has far better evidence than an eternal god.
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
if you're suggesting that there was matter before the creation of the universe or before the big bang, then you must ask yourself, why the "matter" that supposedly existed for an eternity suddenly decided to explode on itself. You'll find that it is impossible without outside help. So in the end even if matter existed for an eternity, we'd still need a God to start the actual universe
kennyas1 2 years ago
You dont need someone to push a button for an explosion to happen, and we cannot say becuase we don't know what happen that it must be god that did it!
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
No we don't need to push a button for an explosion... but only in a finite universe. We're talking about an eternal universe. If the universe was eternal then it'd have to be a static universe and if that universe happened to explode by itself, why didn't it explode an eternity before? The only explanation would be an external stimulus triggered the explosion. And the only logical thing thats not within our universe seems to be God
kennyas1 2 years ago
so basically you are saying its not possible for our universe to be infinite but god can be ... :/
0rangeFlamingo 2 years ago
seems like it.
