This scene is where the police who have been assigned to a detail to take down avon barksdale get their first glimpse of him, they then proceed to tail him leading to this at the end of the scene. Just watch the first ep and see how you feel about it :D is all I can suggest.

I love this scene, one of the few that was broadcast in slo-mo. The only other I can think of was the first time we see Avon walking into the towers.

In both instances it feels like the introduction of an important character, first to the viewer (in the aforementioned scene) and in this to the 'enemy' (the police).

Clever editing highlighting the impact of Avon and his value within the 'world' of the show.
