  • one person got their face melted by the ark

  • John Williams is a genius!!!! This theme is esplendid. The 2:11 to 3:10 part gives me chills! This is perfection, once more.

  • This movie, the score and the director must have won the academy award, and Harrison Ford at least must be nominated at the moment for best actor.

  • One dislike only. Amazing!

  • This were the OLD way, this mean SIX kadam high!

  • @maxpower789z About 72". WAIT! But take back one khadam to honor the Hebrew God whose Ark this is.

  • 2:36 is the best

  • This is why cinema is so powerfull!

  • It just shows you how memorable everything he makes is. Just amazing.

  • Like everytime the Ark is mentioned or encountered in Raiders, this theme plays. Love it.

  • I always wanted to find this soundtrack!I just love how it goes ooo,ooo,ooo.ooo,ooo,ooo.Kind of gives the setting of the mystical/ spirtual things to happen!

  • Oh yes.

  • Out of all the artifact themes, this was the best. It sets the mood perfectly for one of, if not the best mcguffins ever.

  • Gives me goosebumps everytime, makes me wanna go to Egypt on a treasure hunt or something....

  • @ufosenbomen Yeah it gives me goosebumps too!

  • makes me want to go to egypt too lol. ima search the pyramids while listening to this song

  • This soundtrack found in Temple of the Forbidden eye.

  • Arnold Ernst Toht disliked this with his one good hand

  • could raiders have even been half the movie it was without this soundtrack? imagine all of those classic scenes with only mediocre musical accompaniment. imagine the scene where they open the arc. it would have only been half complete.

  • John Williams is without a doubt one of history's greatest composers. This is easily one of his finest works.

  • 1 person wasn't in the map room at dawn...

  • @ChewbaccaTheMustafa I think I love you

  • Wait a minute.... The staff measures 60 inches.... and Indiana Jones is smaller ?

  • @ninaraf didnt he say it was an estimate wen he was explaining?

  • Wait a minute... The staff measures 50 inches.... and Indiana Jones is smaller ?

  • Belloq made a YouTube Account and disliked this video.

  • This is History!

  • Ah, music like this sure makes your hair raise. I'm glad I'm not bald. XD

  • the first 50 seconds of this were used in kingdom of the crystal skull

  • The Bible speaks of the Ark leveling mountains and laying waste to entire regions. An army which carries the Ark before it... is invincible.

  • @Mercenary78

Only an army of God's choosing would be invincible. Remember the Philistines?

  • I get goose bumps just listening to this!

  • @Sonic619760, probs!

  • "Foolish Mortals! You looked into my eyes, your path now leads to the Gates of Doom...AH haha!"

  • I love the "Ark Theme". It evokes something mysterious and possibly sinister.

  • This song and scene was the pivotal part of the whole movie. I especially liked the climax at the end when the nazis were annihilated by the awakened spirits.

  • The chorus in this makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

  • Who thinks: Lara croft / Tomb raider could kill Indiana Jones? Just an poll, Started it when my friends chatted with me about tomb raider and indiana jones.

  • @Pozillaify Indiana Jones would kick her ass.

  • @Pozillaify

Dr. Jones is from a diff era but he would kick ass. hes a genius AND a epic archeologist

  • This is one of the most powerful moments in the film. John Williams really captures the sense of discovery here. Some amazing secret buried in the sands of time is being discovered right there in front of our eyes. The spiritual awe and staggering implications of this discovery are perfectly represented with this music. It is hair-raising and beautiful.

  • @mindstormsabrewin You are absolutley right, a track that will always raise your hair... also funny how the always use the drums in war type movies at 1:50 we you can clearly picture the danger of the nearby nazi's...

  • @mindstormsabrewin Yeah dude your right!

  • @mindstormsabrewin Wow, you just described the song. Your words... they are the song in form of words.

  • One of the main themes of the movie. Often refered to as "The Ark theme".

It did a small return in "Indiana Jones and the last crusade", when Dr.Elsa asks Indy what some carving on a wall is and he answers its The Ark of Covenant. As he answers this the musical score cues in the Ark theme yet again.

  • @McLarenMercedes same thing in crystal skull wen the warehouse doors open. not to mention the ark itself is shown briefly

  • @McLarenMercedes

Look at all these markings! Whats that one?

    The Ark of the Covenant.

    You sure?

    Pretty sure...

  • Thanks to this theme, every time I find an old book or box or something, this is going through my head. =P Love it.
