This fight was a lot less entertaining than most zangief vs. zangief fights. I mean if you get stuck in a lariat whirlwhind (trying to time a successful lariat right after your opponent misses or you block it) It's very entertaining to watch, but these 2 were playing way to defensively. I mean they had a lot of oppurtunities to break their back and forward thing with an ex- banishing flat or ex- walking grab.

That fact is that playing Gief require patience, technique et sacrifice. While playing against another Gief, this is even more true, as any of them can benifit the slow speed of the character to make jey grabs.

I'm not a good Gief player, however, I can beat the shit out of 75% of people on xbox live just because they are all supposedly good ken players that just do Jump + high kick + medium punch + shoryuken. 100% of the time, this is a free piledriver for me, leading to an outstanding vict.

Trust me, Zangief is no better dude. You know that spinning fist thing he does? He's invincible against projectiles during it meaning he can spam that to Hell and even dodge SPECIALS with no punishment, I've TRIED punishing it thinking "When he stops spinning for a split second, he'll get hit" but he was invincible even then. Grabs are also broken in that game and the antiprojectile hand of justice makes him go across the screen and cause heavy damage. He is overpowered

I understand your point. However, there are many ways to counter Gief's Lariah. And of course grabs are overpowered, as they need certain conditions that are harder to respect than Ken's fireballs. Furthermore, there's a time to attack and there's a time to defend in SF4. I can bet you that even if you're the best attacker in history of SF4, if you don't know how to defend, you greatly increase your chances to get you ass kicked.

Also, it's not like you can just shoot projectiles at him or anything, he just spins and they drift right past him like they never existed. 2 moves that can dodge projectiles completely and are overpowered PLUS grabs? Zangeif is the hardest character to play in this game. He always has been. He doesn't have much entertainment value. Thats why no one plays him

Actually Zangief isn't that hard to play as in SFIV. I was appalling when I used him in Street Fighter 2, and more of the same in Street Fighter Alpha 3 and SSF2THD, however I can use him competently in SFIV.

I've seen quite a few Zangiefs online and the really "good" ones exploit the fact that if timed correctly, you can string throw after throw without the opponent being able to resist... whether they jump, EX or try to Super / Ultra out of it.

The reason this is such a poor game is because they both need to get in close, so they are both afraid to get close as either one could get a throw in. Zangief mirrors are begging to be slow and defensive.

the 360 controller is Terrible (looks and feels) but on a fighting game it ALMOST doesn't matter what you use because A person like me can be good on A pad or A stick (of any brand) Mix ups combos timing etc is not down to a pad.
