One of those musicians who ripped my ears open - in a good way. I've been lucky enough to see him via Cloud About Mercury, Mark Isham, David Sylvian, Bruford/Levin, Tim Berne and last caught a Prezens show. David - listen to Tim Berne and please play in front of audiences more.
Saw David Torn at UPenn back in '98. It was a brief but mind blowing experience listening to excerpts from Tripping Over God live. Its inspirational and genious work that breaks the sound barrier! Thanks for all the inspiration!
I actually got to see Mr. Torn live in the early nineties, and it was asbsolutely mindblowing. He absolutely killed my perceptions of what you can and cannot do on a guitar. I'm eternally thankful, David...

I knew this genius from his works with David Sylvian. Listen to "The Boy With the Gun", become my guitar god since then.

Same here. Heard that song on WFNX in Boston around 1987 or so and have followed Torn and related projects since.

One of the true guitar greats - how many guitarists in the world have an individual sound like Torn? I can't think of any.

EEEEK, please spell it right, Holdsworth is the name. When you don't spell it right you don't show the proper respect.
