The song is called "The Eyes of the Ranger." It was written by Tirk Wilder. I have known Tirk since 1972 when we both played at The Wrong Place, a bar in New Orleans. Tirk got me my first gig on Bourbon Street at the Ivanhoe Lounge and kicked off my 11-year career as a working musician. I only play for fun now with mostly folkie gigs. We still keep in touch and see each other at Wrong Place Reunions. Peace!
