i'm studing virology and i've found some mistake n ths video..
1)the protease of HIV doesn't work in the cell's citoplasm but in the budding virus which for this reason is premature. It would be a great video if there were an explanation with polypeptide gag transcribed in 95%, and peptide gag-pol obtained by slippage of rybosome in 5% of the cases in traduction of the same mRNA. Both protein then goes to plasma membrane with their N-myristil anchor. Sorry for my eng from italian student ;)
What is that all about at 1:20 ? Where do all those things go? If that stuff disappears to expose the cell wall why can't it access all the rest of the cell wall without having to mess with those things?
MUY INTERESANTE VIDEO A PESAR DE ESTAR EN INGLES SE LOGRA ENTEDER , SERIA INTERESANTE ALGUIEN LE PONGA SUBTITULOS A ESTE VIDEO Y ASI APORTAR A LA COMUNIDAD CIENTIFICA LATINA.
But doesnt the t cells multipy 5 times faster than the HIV cells which means basically HIV is out gunned drastically and why doesn't the antibodies kill the HIV retrovirus before it attempts to enter our t-cells?
@BITTER0N its b/c the virus is hidden safely inside the host cells during the latent period of the disease therefore the virus mutates, so the antibodies are not effective. also its b/c of the progressive destruction of the T-helper cells and macrophages occurs.
@masim4t5 we need helper t cells to activate our killer te cells and b cells which both kill pathogens ..which we obviously need so that we dont become susceptible to infection. if the b cells and killer t cells are not activated then we wouldnt even be able to fight off the common cold...your immune system would be very low and you would just end up dying because you cannot fight of viruses and bacteria..enough info ?? :P and im a girl

The possible blocking steps raise a question - what could be the side effect of blocking each of these steps?

@BITTER0N the hiv attatches to our dna so if the t cells attacked our dna we would probably end up quite damaged...

Sir i love to know that why we will die when t cell attaches on dna
