  • Whoever disliked this hasnt been to rosies diner

  • great song and memories!

  • I have loved this song since day one. 1971 was the best year of my life. It sure brings back a lot of good memories.

  • P.S. Again cannot thank you enough for the fond memories you provide with all the songs and videos (BAA) before american adventureism. You are a God send !

  • good singer.sounds like franky valli during bridge.

  • @1skullduggery Fair comment, a bit reminiscent of Frankie at times yes. Nice feel good song though.

  • Timeless music

  • wonderful this song and your video is very good Joe.Julia

  • Excelent song and good video! I like to hear it at full volume. Brings me wet memories from the past!

  • Great song, backs me back to my childhood.

  • great song bac..thx for the upload..

  • 1971? Wow, definitely has a fifties feel. Cool song.

  • I love this song. Always makes me think of Shaggy and Scooby running from one of their mystery monsters. As much as I love '58 Fords, a better car for the period this song dates from would be a '71 Galaxie Hawaii-Five-0 staff car. Or how about a '70 Plymouth Fury 2 door? '69 Olds Toronado! '68 AMC Javelin! Heck, '71 VW Bug!

  • Rosie's Diner Rt 17 Circle, Little Ferry, New Jersey.

I shot pictures there for an article in Seventeen Magazine back in 1983. ( Inside )

One of my first jobs as a Fashion Photographer. Still have the article.

The day I shot it, it snowed all day & Night and got stranded going back to the studio in manhattan with four Super Models and the Driver of the Tour Bus.

Did get home by 3:00 a.m. Of course the models made a trip to the Liquor Store next to the diner before we left Rosie's Great Memories

  • They sound like the 4 Seasons.

  • Great song. And GREAT 1960 Tbird

  • My Brother got married 40 years ago tomarrow ( 09-11-71 ) when this song was popular. It seems like only yesterday.

  • good tune - man it brings back some memories

  • From Rodney King: "Can't we just all get along?"

  • Awesome, thanks for posting. Made an old man smile!

  • did the Bee Gees cover this before they became The reigning Disco kings

  • @Bacmaster nice thats what i did for my one video

  • such an awesome..powerful song

  • was ist das für eine Stadt ? auf 0:22

    ?? ;-)

    Cmen

  • Great song! Sweet memories from the summer of '71. One of only 3 they landed in the top 40, I was surprised that it went no higher than #15. 'You've Got Your Troubles' - A song we don't hear nearly as often - Actually went much higher, at #7, nearly 6 years earlier, back in September of '65.

  • Like if Stars on 45 brought you here!!

  • love the 60s and 70s this song is just one reason why

  • I don't care that they squeaked, rattled, and broke down twice a month. Bring back cars that look like the one in this video.

  • This should be Vancouver's official song. It gets kind of dreary here in Rain City.

  • Thanks for this WONDERFUL VIDEO and SONG!!

    The Video is BEAUTIFUL!!

And also thanks so much for connecting

    Take are my friend

    Cynthia

  • Yes, the fortunes did a Coke radio commercial and sang 'It's the Real Thing'. a lot of groups did.

  • One of my favorites !!

  • How can I copy the picture of the car & diner at :43 of the video?

  • @lucandella - if no one's replied by now, try this. Play video to point of interest, pause, then use "print screen" functions (Alt-PrtSc or Fn-Alt-PrtSc, depending on your system), open Paint (or other graphics program), paste image into Paint canvas (will include the entire web browser window), then select the image of interest, crop, and save as file format of choice (jpeg, bmp, etc.). Hope this helps.

  • @jimoreillyjtm45 I've already sent lucandella the original picture. As a matter of fact, about 6 different colors.

I appreciate your help posting your knowledge on this! I just learned something myself! I'm sure your information will help many others. Thank you again!

Regards from, Joe @ "bacmaster" - "thebacmaster" & "musicvidmovmaker" channels

  • @Bacmaster - I guess that's the obvious way - ask the person who posted it! Now, why didn't I think of that?!

  • @jimoreillyjtm45 It's OK, you've helped me! This is something I never had knowledge on.

I used to get the video, then copy the picture. That took too much time. Thank you again!

    Joe~

  • @lucandella Windows7 has a snipping tool... most convenient.

  • such a great song! i could listen to it forever. :D when we go to the lake camping we listen to my dads songs and this is one of them. if i don't hear it i can't feel the camping spirit. its nice for it to rain when we listen to it too.

  • From 40 years ago in 1971.

  • @nema1218 No, 1971 is right!

  • @aandrus7

    Thanks.

  • Aren't these the same guys that sang that Coke commercial, "It's the Real Thing?"

  • @Fersomling I believe you're referring to the group 'The New Seekers".

    Regards from Joe

  • @Fersomling The Fortunes did a Coca Cola commercial as well

  • @aandrus7 Yes, you are correct. Thank you. It's actually listed in the info below my video. I only recall the "The New Seekers".

  • A gr8 classic song from the 60's

  • @Twinkle3067 Thought was from 1971 rather than the 60s. At any rate, a great song. Don't hear it much.

  • The Fortunes' story well illustrates how fickle the music business is. Still, they left us with a legacy of some memorable recordings.
