If the game was moving three times as fast as normal, don't you think you would've noticed with everything? The speed he picks up the coins would've sounded much faster, music, etc.

This appears genuine... no bombs at the end of the level is due to his time never ending in a 1,3 or 6 (which is what causes them) - you can see how he adjusts his time for this at the end of 8-4 when he doesnt hit the pole straight away. Also the close touches to flowers and other things is possible - if you have the game try it yourself! Very impressive - good job!

mariop has multiple "problems in the game" the ability to walk through walls if you jump at them right, ability to kill baddies by hitting them from below - all these hits arent actualy hits in the game of mario they are just visual hits - if you have the game try it youself and see... you can also come out of pipes just as plants are going down also but you don't get killed!

This is not fake. I can do this. Whoever said it can be done in 4:39 is full of it...that can only be done on an emulator. With the normal NES game speed, 5:19 is the fastest I've seen it done, though I myself am a couple seconds slower. pretty amazing. His only little mistake, is just before he ends 8-3. He losts one second when he goes against the rock at the bottom of the flag pole. Other than that I think it's perfect. This must be the japanese version of the game. The european is a bit more faster, as you can tell by the tempo of the music. So, in an european NES, he might even beat that time.
