This is not a song to Bawon!!!! Not Bawon Lakawa, Cimitiere, Twa Pikwa, etc..It's not even done to the Banda, the traditional drun rythmn of the Gede Nansyo. If you want to learn Vodou, learn the real thing. You are to be commended for your passion to the lwa, but there is enough confusion regarding our tradition. Please learn real information or don't bother. Blessings - Mambo Asogwe Pa Trop Presse
Of course it's not a song to Baron - it's the musical theme from Live and Let Die that plays during their Baron Samedi ritual. Has nothing to do with Vodou, and never claimed to.
@MamboJenn Well you know the guy that played the role Geoffrey Holder did go to Haiti and study about Baron Samedi and it opened his eyes to Banda and Voodoo the religion and folklore, Banda the traditional drum rhythm , he also made a ballet for the Dance Theatre of Harlem called "Banda" with the traditional drums that featured dancer Donald Williams as the Baron Samed!iPlease look up on you tube "Geoffrey Holder: My Respect For The Haitian Culture " to hear him speak about it!
