Old navy sandals are way too hard. I wear Sanuks and they only cost around $20-$30. My go to lounging and summer sandals. Very comfortable and soft. You can pick up a pair from zappos.

I'll never wear flip flops/sandals other than at the beach. I wear my Lacoste basic white shoe for casual. My Ralph Lauren monk strap is my go to guy in the summer.

So disappointed in you advocating flip flops. Cheap, ugly, and most guys don't have great looking feet, nor are they doing proper foot grooming. Most guys are NOT doing proper grooming. The worst thing-terrible for foot support. Because so many people are almost them almost constantly-big foot problems later in life because of lack of good foot support.

This is one of the only times I'll ever disagree with ya! Ever since that first pair of plastic Spider-Man ones were shoved on my feet I've hated the feeling between my toes. But I do keep it simple, I'm really picky with sandals and only buy 1-2 pairs per decade. Just enough strap to keep it on my feet, nice and simple for warm weather, but no annoying wedge driven between my toes!

I prefer a nice pair of vans slip ons myself. I always tend to lose my flip flops on stage. It's kinda embarrassing to have to do the little dance where you put on your flop in front of 200 people. It's not fun to have somebody bring you your flop after the show.

I'm a flip flop guy and you're right, simple, streamlined, sexy is a good way to describe how flip flops look. I have a good friend that says that flip flops are not manly, they are feminine, especially the thin rubber kind. To me, flip flops on guys are kind of like earrings. Some people might think they are for girls, but when they are on a guy they look great. I'm not sure how to convince my friend flip flops aren't girly. What footwear could be worn instead of flip flops with shorts?

I like flip flops, however they are horrible for your plantar fascia and back. A few designers make stylish "guy sandals", but they are more pricey. Over the years it is better for your back though. I agree with you on pedicures though. I will post another comment for other guys who don't know basic up keep for feet.

I am not a fan of either one, but I use flip flops for convenience in the summertime...and with shorts only. I don't get this wearing them with jeans thing, but to each his own. And as you would agree, sandals are bad enough, but to wear them with socks is even more hideous. I've seen some Asians wear flops with socks, too. Gross!!
