Holocaust: Yes it was gruesome. Equally gruesome is what Stalin did as well. Most people fail to realize their were really two holocausts during this era. The reasons the Soviets got off the hook was because they were an "Allied Nation". The reality is, there were two equally evil regimes that did commit mass murder on a scale of millions. The soviets killed far more than the nazis. But don't tell that to an American, after all, they were allies with the devil himself.

people often try to compare the holocaust with the Stalinist purges of the Soviet Red Army and the collectivization of the Russian farms. but the Nazi crimes were acts of commission...the Stalin crimes were largely acts of ommission.

See wikipedia article on "gulags"...the russian gulag deaths were no where near the number the Nazi's killed. The gulags killed maybe 3 or 4 million people...mainly by lack of heating, food and medical care.

The nazis killed 12 million.

@EdwardRommel This is a pointless debate because explaining the facts to others who have their mind made up is like explaining the color "red" to a blind person. The reality is that Soviet Communism *DID* kill more people than even the nazis on their worst day. Most of their victims didn't even make it to the gulags in question. When comparing atrocities, lets do so with both eyes open and realize too that the vast majority of Soviet offenses weren't even properly documented. Evil stuff.

@EdwardRommel That's great. You compare Soviet Gulag killing totals to TOTAL Nazi killings. The last time I checked, 65 million is higher than 12 million. Of course both are appalling, but to say the Nazi's are worse is just plain ignorant. Stalin killed over 7 million in the Ukraine in just 2 years! How people forget/don't acknowledge these things is beyond me!

The German Versailles Treaty delagation people knew the allies had bugged their rooms. And the Nazis often bugged rooms throughout Europe.

But these prisoners don't appear to know that they are being tapped...or maybe they don't care because they are bitter towards the Nazi regime for losing the war.

But I certainly don't think the transcripts and recordings are forgeries. I think they are genuine and the officers are speaking the truth.

10 millions is correct, all in all around 18.2 millions (incl. foreigners) served in the Wehrmacht, but of course not at the same time.

By far the largest army was the Red Army around 34.5 million soldiers served in it during the war.

The conversations are available in a book called "Taping Hitler's Generals"...available at Amazon.

After reading this book...there can be no doubt that the Holocaust did indeed happen...These Generals were relaxed and talking amongst themselves...but did not know the British were taping their every conversation at a luxurious chateau in Britain called Trent Park.
