  • Obviously there are people that do listen to the crap that's out there. Katy Perry sells millions of records. Gag me. She really can't even sing. This guy has a gorgeous voice.

  • Can you emagine,I mean close your eyes and really emagine dancing with some pretty young girl to this music.Eat your heart out all you young rappers, this WAS music, with real TALENT,and I was lucky enough to live it.

  • I grew up in the 70's and 80's , but always thought this was the best music era. Kinda corny stuff in a good way with great harmony and I can just imagine all the steamy windows at the drive-ins and look-out point.

  • Only the Flamingos could do this song justice. WOW

  • I FEEL LIKE I'M ABOUT TO "FAINT"! TOM D.

  • We, the Silent Generation, who were teenagers at this time, needed this music. We thought the Russians at any time would wipe us out. We had to escape some way and have this beautiful music to help us survive that era. Don't get me wrong. I'm very thankful to have grown up at that time, even knew a number of JD's along the way. Never got a JD card myself, thank goodness.

  • SPEACHLESS!!! TOM D. BRICK,NJ {AT THE SHORE}.

  • Aahhh! Real music.!

  • matchless

  • smooooooth!!!!!!

  • I like Doo Wop.

  • I like this.

  • those guys were sooo smoooth in those green silk suits. They were the best.

  • Oh I remember this well!! when it 1st came out, I was a young teen!! I love it!! Thx 4 posting!! Phyllis..

  • sonnie mcelroy.

  • sonnie mcelroy

  • I LISTEN TO THE crap out there today and alot of it kicks arse. my fave group will always be the flamingos. the yolks, jay reatard, dutchess and the duke , and the vivian girls all pay their spect to old skool doo wop and soul, not to mention the detroit cobras and the makers

  • It took this generation of music makers to have for the first time in history music being censored.....Disgraceful! an entire lifetime of music being enjoyed and rap and hip hop caused people to censor what was decent That says it all...We never had censorship before rap and hip hop so draw your own conclusions

  • @loungepianoman That isn't necessarily true. There were plenty juke-joint blues songs, back then, so-called decent people didn't listen to such as "Stoop down baby, let your daddy see ..." And, when teenagers fell in love to the "decent" songs, and had sex in those big old backseats of cars, or the front seat, it all netted out the same.

  • @CheckMate657879 Yes you are right. In that era the songs were at best suggestive and that was enough for a lot of people not to like them or want their children to listen to them but my reference to censorship deals with lyrics that do not leave anything to the imagination. They talk of rape and degrading women and the language has no place in music. I did not mean to imply that era had no problems but they were pretty harmless compared to the lyrics of some groups today.

  • Una de sus muchas obras maestras.

  • This song came out in the '50s when so

many young American men were getting drafted in the military, usually for a two-year stint. When they refer to " my times'

about up ", they probably mean that they are ready to come out and lead a civilian life again.

  • I love this. I was a teen when this came out, actually I was getting married about this time.

  • Gotta love that 50´s music :)

  • Wonderful 50s sounds, I love it. ^^

  • Love the 1950's!

  • In what year was this great tune first released in North America?

Was this the original recording of the song?

  • I believe it was 1956.

  • Thank you, William.

  • While Pat Boone did a respectable version of this tune,I must say that the Flamingos' version is the one that stands out for a romantic moment.Absloutely brilliant!Love it!

  • I just love this song. Thanks.

  • The Flamingos personified romantic music. How fortunate we were to have grown up in an era when we heard this instead of the crap out there today. THIS is timeless.

  • @Torihope you are so right. This is romantic music personified. I just love it. Ironically, when younger people finally hear this music they fall in love with it too. It was a time of such innocence, wholesome living and sincerity. Because it is so timeless, I believe it may surface once again.

    Peace & Joy

  • @Torihope I envy your era. I wish I could have grew up in the golden age of music. The 50s were wonderful and I adore everything about those times.

  • @Torihope I didnt grow up in this era but I love all this kind of music, I agree alot of todays music is dreadful

  • @Torihope I agree with You, but when these songs were out in the fifties My Dad thought they were crap compared to His Big Band Era.

  • one of the best by one of the best if not the best

  • Does anyone listen to the crap put out today?? This is what it's all about and what we used to fall in love listing to and that is why our generation survived and is still so popular even today. Doo wop will NEVER go away.

  • @herbajones Hey the kids hear this and they love it.

  • @sparwood8

Yes.The kids are beginning to recognize music with purpose.

  • Trembling.............this is what music is supposed to do to our soul...........trambling
