  • hey stinky feet ! merry christmas red-love ya bro !

  • I'm not sure you heard right... he says they shoe 4 out of every 5 days at the school and shoe up to 100 horses through the course.

  • bhahahahahaha is this guy serious? a 4 week course where you only shoe 4 days??? right i went to a 6 week school and shoed/trimmed 5 days a week and i still want to learn more and 50 degrees for the front and 55 degrees NEGATIVE it veries on the horse!!!!!!!!!!!! should be straight to pasturn

  • A 2 day class on equine dentistry.....1 day class on cattle trimming. WTF is this guy serious. I went to equine dentistry school for 240 hours and still find my self going to refresher clinics. Yikes 2 days.

  • What a phony!

  • These lads look fair useless ha

  • I've heard bad things about this guy, nothing but bad things

  • Almost all horse shoers know nothing about trimming a hoof. If you can't keep a horse working barefoot, you can't keep horses feet and should resign!

  • So this is why all my horses that I shoe are totally sound and get better times in barrels and poles than they could barefoot? There is a place for proper shoeing and proper barefoot trimming.

  • The only thing you teach is the 'dark art' of pinching the digital arteries. You all know nothing about the health and strength of coffin bones. False equine podiatry.

  • Boy, lots of negetive comments removed? Think I would pass on this school...

  • I would recommend Red's School. He knows a lot and teaches well. I would also recommend riding with somebody for a while when you get done though.

  • Mr. Tomlinson is the proud owner and top instructor at "Schools of Horseshoeing". He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Masters in Biology from Eastern Michigan University. Mr. Tomlinson graduated from California Poli in San Luis Obispo,California in horseshoeing in 1960.He started the 1st horseshoeing school in Florida 1967, then Michigan in 1970. Mr. Tomlinson now has 16 schools throughout the United States in which he proudly teaches along with his certified instructors.

  • What a worthless school. A lot of good money wasted. Tomlinson showed us basically nothing and I watched several horses cut to the quick and he didn't care at all. Definetely fly by night. Find a real school or talk to a local well known farrier who would be willing to work with you but don't waste your money here.

  • I sure hope you incourage a break from shoes at least a couple times a year.

  • Red has done more to fuel the "natural hoof care" cause than anyone else in the country. Certainly a dis-service to the industry. Heck, most of the class you never see him. His classes are frequently taught by a graduate from the previous class.......scarey! IMO most if not all of his schools should be shut down, and potential students should be directed to one of many credible schools, where they will at least be suitable apprentices when they graduate..

  • i learned to shoe horses at reds michigan school 31 years ago i was the first from australia what an experince of a lifetime hi old friend

  • You dont know anything about the hoof of a horse. Each horse is differant. And since you obviously dont know the differance I'll tell you to save the time....A farrier is someone who takes care of and works on the horses hoof.A blacksmith is someone who works with iron and makes horse shoes, but knows little about the hoof. And they do make differant size horse shoes. You must have blonde hair, huh

  • Blacksmith and farrier are different A farrier trims the hoof and makes the shoes for the horse whether from 3/8 bar stock or from reshaping a prefab shoe and a farrier job is solely the care of a horse hoof and light veterinarian on the horse. he abuses the blacksmith term to much a blacksmith has nothing to do with horses. his job is to repair and make tools or artisan work, not horse shoes. I know, i am a certified farrier & it took me 7 years to become a master blacksmith two separate jobs

  • A black smith yrs ago wood also do farrier work as well. Unlike today where most only have skills in one area. Years ago there were many jack of all trades.

  • i saw that a couple of those horses had contraced heels. do you know why?
