Thank you prophetofthenow! Growing up I was often told that I wasn't a French Creole because I wasn't light/fair skinned!!! How wrong they were! (Have papers to prove it!) I'm often asked what I am...
They also have black french creoles as well back in the days. My ancestors were black slaves and they mix with french owners (slave masters) and that is how part of Louisiana is French white people and French black people with a little mix of Spanish and Native american blood.
The hypocracy of "... we hold these truth to be self-evident" in the face of slavery is just as important as the beauty of the architecture & history of New Orleans. Notice how slaves were referred to as "maids" and "servants"? Doubtless, less offensive to [white] viewers during that time.
Unbelievable, the very thing that is sooo anti-american, slavery, is treated as if it is nothing. The actor said, "we left europe to escape the oppression" yet they owned slaves. They imposed that which they so hated.
Beautiful, Louisiane is still the same, minus a heavy creole and french speeking population yet thousands still survive. Our cultures the same, some unwanted american culture added in, " my opinion " but all is still the same :D Viva Louisiane, Viva La Nouvelle Orleans
Thank you so much for showing us this short film about the culture of old Louisiana, very interesting pictures, great filming, we loved it all very much, well done, our compliments to you !!
Happy Easter to you, your family and your loved ones.
Dearest greetings from Chris and Mayka – The Netherlands – Europe – YouTube chrismayka.

Its funny how they tried to take our Nationality, whites of French descent cannot claim Creole unless they admit Negritude.
