homemade catfish bait

loved it. I see how to make it,but does it catch fish? I mean, do you have to sit for hours to get a bite or will a cat get on it pretty fast? also....how well does it stay on a hook after it get wet? thanks bassmaster....and good fishing to ya from Steve,Nashville TN.
