  • Samba de una nota! One of my faves.

  • Oh dear God, one thing which I do NOT miss about that period of time are those damned bongo drums! It seemed like a rite of passage for so many people back then. Of course, nobody could actually PLAY them, but they were handy to keep around to show everyone how cool you were!

  • TALENT, TALENT, TALENT!!

    GOD, I LOVE DUSTY :)

  • Thanks for posting this great clip! Was this from a 16mm kinescope print? I collect 16mm music films, which is why I ask. Thanks, HM, founder Highway Cinema

  • These seems less from Brazil than from the magical tiki-tiki land of Martin Denny's dreams. But Dusty is so damn adorable, how can you not love it all the same?

  • What a unique cover of the beautiful Antonio Carlos Jobim composition. Thanks for posting!

  • surprise this song didnt make it on a recording... Like on On an island of dreams compilation of almost their songs.

  • hehehe, pretty cute rendition. not bad. its cute. they're havin fun alright.

  • i love this. how cute MIke Hurst is?

    the song is lovely.

  • Tom is on the RIGHT of this group.

  • I love the way Dusty slightly stumbles on her words right near the end of this song.

  • Left to right: MIke Hurst, Mary O'Brien aka Dusty Sprongfield and Dion O'Brien aka Tom Springfield. Mike Hurst replaced Tim Feild, whose surname was the inspiration for the group's name and he can be seen in some of these older clips like Wimoweh.

  • Really, I had my money on Tom being the one on the left!

     Ahhh!

  • which one is tom springfield? on the left or the right?

And Dusty is cute in this clip!

  • Wow, they seem like they are having so much fun doing this song. I think it's great! Thanks for posting.

  • somebody that know what singing theirs, i dont understand this lenguage.I need a traductor. But is beautiful and funny.

  • original language of this song, portugues

  • Let's see.......shake the old 8 ball and what does it say regarding that..........NOT LIKELY

  • Marvelous~ I absolutely LOVE this.

  • Love these rare Springfields clips. They really are having fun with this tune. It's easy to see and hear Dusty was destined for solo stardom. What a singer!

  • Great to see this early vid of the Springfields. I hadn't realised this was "One Note Samba" but of course, know the tune well.

  • Dusty was definitely the star, even at the beginning! Thanks for posting.

  • Thank you so very much for this historic and fun video! Go Dusty!

  • Mike Hurst is on the left;Tom Springfield is on the right

  • Dion O'Brien, Dusty's brother is playing the conga drum on the left. The greatest hit the 'Springfields' had on the U.S. music charts was 'Silver Pins and Golden Needles'. The following year from it's release, Dusty struck out for her solo career.

  • Thanks. But ... Silver Threads.

  • @7NTM61Ic yea plus her brothers on the right lol

  • ...im pretty sure that's michael longhurst-pickworth on the left there

  • Nope; Tom is on the RIGHT; Mike Hurst is on the LEFT.

  • @PatientMickey ~Nope...Dusty's brother is on the right playing the bon-go's...Dion O'Biran became Tom Springfield and wrote and produced most, if not all of The Seekers albums/hits. Mike Hearne is on the left.

  • wow ..totaly delightfull ..love it thanks for the post...xx
