But whereas Ilayaraja, was adding western touch in the form of rythm and for each and every composition he incorporates melody. This is what makes him different from all the other music directors.

There is no one who has the versality of MSV and when it comes to classical touch no one beats KV. (mind you KV has more hits in Telugu than Tamil) Raja and Rehaman had the advantage of advanced electronics where you could cut and paste, delete distortions, copy from other tracks etc..

Further, It is not easy to compose music for complicated and rich tamil lyrics by Kannadasan or Pattukottai. It is relatively easy today. Make a tune and add few words to it.(often times you hardly comprehend the lines) This is evident when you listen to Rehmans and Rajas songs. Many songs seem to have the same BGM and importance is given to technical details like channel seperation and effects.

Listen to KV's 'parthen sirithen' or songs from Panama Pasama, Sumaithangi etc.

Dear fellow! I am not interested in 'seeing' orchestration or composing but more interested in the outcome. If you want to see dramatic orchestration I would recommend Karjan, Zubin Mehta or perhaps Livanleli. What matters is if the music (song) could be appriciated by many. As I mentioned earlier you cannot and should compare singers or muscians. My argument is that it is not easy to make a tune for Kannadasans lyrics. That credit goes to MSV .

I think ARR and Raja comparison does not make any sense because you will be mesmerised to both the legends' master pieces.
