Hi there.. i imported my videos to imovie but the video is really jerky, however the audio is fine. i actually want to work in final cut pro but i couldnt work out how to bring my footage into it, so i put it on imovie first.. when i took the footage to final cut it was still jerky and it kept popping up saying some of the frames are missing. what do i do? im going mad!!! please help someone. thanks.

@Mastersun88 i think all you have to do is everything up to the point of inserting the vid into the software. at this point all you will need to do is import it into final cut instead of imovie.
@ccubsfan94 thanks for the reply but I figured it out only thing now is I need to learn how to use final cut I have final cut studio 3 with the complete package and it is hard to use motion and render is a lot to do compared to what I am used to with sony vegas seems like I have to do more work in final cut than I did in sony vegas to make pretty nice videos only thing I hated about was sony vegas took hours to render but I had problems running it sometimes with VMware fusion 3 sometimes o well.
@Mastersun88 take another look at iMovie. I almost never use it. but it has an advanced mode. to say the least it is a sleeper. I probably will never use it again but the engine running it is extremely powerful
Not sure where to post it, but I have the everio hd300au and imovie on MAC. the only thing I had to do is select "back up" on the camera menu screen when plugged into power and usb. make sure your power is plugged in. Then it copied the video straight over to imovie.
I found a solution that worked great for Mac. It's called ffmpegX and it's open source. (Just google it!) There is also a mpeg2 plugin so you shouldn't need the additional Quicktime software. I have Quicktime Pro anyway. I hope this helps.
question? i record the video, ok when i reprodu the video, it have a camera´s display y dont´n erase this, please help me ok (sorry but i dont´s speak english very well.
are you talking about the file look on a mac. it might be because when you reproduce the video it doesn't put it in a video format but a picture. you should be able to change these settings. if you want to change it put it to mp4.
HI why when I imported files from my JVC using iMOvie 06 or even final cut somo files just not are copied, I do quick playlist in my JVC but when im done I noticed some footage are missing, why it happen
hi i have imovie 08 and it was working great because i just connected my camera (JVC GZ MS100) and it imported. But after a few uploads, i connected my camera and it didn't import. Does anyone have some instructions on manually importing the files to imovie 08?
DUDE! thank you so much!!! this finally worked. i was so mad cuz i could get my camera on my comp but this actually worked! i figured out a way to get the MPEG-2 Playback for free though. its sweet. thanks man!
thanks for relizing i was using a screen rocording software and it used my isight sound and our computer is in a big open room creating the small echo
not .mod files. they are jvc company files like sony owns hdvch or somthing like that. they all are different conversions of mpeg 2 which for a camera format is kindof dumb unless you use the direct burn dvd
If there are free conversion products on Apple, I'd like to know some names! I happened to stumble across this YT video and this method was a cheaper alternative than paying $130 for Pixela!! I just need something to convert the MOD files with so that I can view them on my own Mac. I don't know why they just don't make software equally for both Macs and Windows @w@ So thanks for the help!
i also have a pc and i put the software that comes with it on there and the software i think is crap. you can only play the movies in the software. i mean 20 bucks to get around it is pretty good
Thanks for sharing! Now I'll be able to view movies on my computer. It's been sitting untouched for two years.

how did you get video file from Everio to Desktop? When mine goes into backup option, it will only backup file to PC, not to MAC.
tevisann 2 years ago
when you plug in the camera on the camera screen it should bring up a menu. just click the first one
ccubsfan94 2 years ago
Yeah, I was about to send my new camcorder back. Now I am going to keep it.

imovie will not reconize a usb camera you have to take the files off through the finder then convert them.

Hi. I use Imovie 08 a lot. Soon I will have the JVC Everio Camera. Is it simple to get the movie footage from Everio to Imovie08? Thanks.

imovie should reconize the camera and you just hit import and it should be done if not just comment back
