I was born in mid 65 and I remember when their first album came out and our neighbor at the time "God rest his soul" played their first album and others that followed over and over and OVER again and not like I never listened to AC a lot after but the state I lived in for over 30 yrs never played much of Cooper but my dear friend was shocked and amazed that I remembered every word to every song after over 40 yrs ago, It gets in ur blood and there,s no turning back!
"Killer" was my first AC album, given to me at age 13 by my rockin' sister-in-law...Even after all this time, there's still not a song on this album that I can't recite the lyrics of, word by word. Alice Cooper, helping to form chldren's minds for more than 3 decade. AC ROCKS!!!
IF "YOU" LOVE ALICE, check out a band named Faithful Pig, on YouTube!! They are NOT wannabees THEY are the REAL THING...VERY TALENTED AND WITTY SONGS, some TOUNGE n' CHEEK (They remind "ME" of Alice's EARLY recordings, and the Singer is INFLUENCED DEEPLY by ALICE..not an imitator..is just "HIS" voice sounds a bit like Alice, but not ONLY the SOUND of his voice, but the FLAVOR and COLOR of his Vocals!!) They have 7 songs posted..I hope you ENJOY them ALL!
SORRY, kainhall, FOR REPEATING YOUR COMMENT! (I JUST noticed it!!) Seeing that it has been 10 months ago, I GUESS it couldn't Hurt to let People know, again!!!
If you listen , at the ENDING of the song you can "HEAR" Niel's Drumsticks falling THROUGH his Drum Kit!!! Alice and Bob, BOTH told him NOT to twirl his sticks in the STUDIO, ONLY during a SHOW!!! ( It is right after the first "OOOOOOWN!" at the ENDING). I don't KNOW if someone had already posted THIS comment ( I DIDN'T GO THROUGH ALL OF THEM!!) IF SO, sorry to repeat themselves!!!! Heh-heh-heh!!!
Yeah, the politico monikered HOF finally saw fit to induct Alice Cooper after a decade of relentless screaming from fans like me, who nearly had to threaten to burn the place down before they did it.
It's funny; Alice is remembered by most for School's Out, I'm Eighteen, No More Mr. Nice Guy and the Nightmare album, all very good, but for my money, Killer is his best album - BY FAR!!! Every song rocks, but no real big hit on it.
Listen listen listen to the pitch perfect, raw, state of the art 1970's analog studio production here. Rock recording at it's absolute zenith. The energy just pours out of the speakers. What would happen if a major label rock band DARED to come out with an album that sounded like this now??? Might cause a revolution.........right, kid's?
@audiotrax2000 I'm with you brother. This sounds better than anything I'm hearing today. And you're right, the energy sucks you right in. Stripped down and raw, the way it should be.
@MrFredhuggins198 Alice and Ozzie? Princes of Darkness??? They are an "act" like Vincent Price was an actor. This is theatre and art....just ask their wives. Double for Gene. We are all lucky to have these types of great artists among us. When we actually believe these people are truly like the personalities they act out on stage and album, then they have succeeded in their art. So, I suppose they ARE true Princes of Darkness because they seem SO damn believable. enjoyable. & unforgetable. :)
@JEDIALADDIN yea, alice is a really nice, smart guy. i just like his music and act better than ozzy, plus i lost all respect for ozzy when he did a commercial with bieber
I remember the first time I saw Alice Cooper I was around 10 or 11 (born in 1963) and was watching some variety show on tv with my mother (Smothers Brothers or something like as best as I can remember). When they said, "and next up is Alice Copper", and I remember thinking "oh great.. some boring chick with an acoustic gutar", when this freak comes out with a boa playing hard rock... been a fan ever since.
I remember tearing the calender part of this LP cover out & putting it on my bedroom wall. '72 Oh Heavenforbid! Was it really that long ago? It seems like yesterday.
@damnyancey A socialist, or a Democrat? It can't be both, dummy. The problem with all you knuckle-dragging mouth-breathers is that you don't know the difference between a socialist, a communist, and a fascist, and you use the terms interchangeably as if they all mean the same thing. I ordinarily would be perfectly happy to let your kind simply stupid yourselves to death, but unfortunately you always end up dragging worthwhile people down with you. Well? Socialist, or Democrat? Which one?
Bogart that joint with those roach clips taken from the doctors office, press those bell bottom levi's and make those creases sharp enough to cut, play the album loud enough to piss your parents off and make them wonder if you are as insane as Alice was protrayed to be, load up the eight track in your rust lead sled cruzing along the back roads with your bong between your legs and wonder today where all the good times have gone!
@hollywoodartchick There is a bit of a flipside - my dad loves Alice but he still worries when I get into him too much. He thinks I'll go some kind of darkside or something, lol. But he did bring me up on classic rock <3
