  • lets see some corners!

  • And I thought the 240z was a beauty.. Magnificent design this.

  • おせー

  • The used car major company search engine site of Japan was searched today.

As a result, one set of 2000GT has been discovered.

It runs silver and slight 20000 km.

When the price is converted into US$, it is 387000 US dollars.

  • With how advanced Japanese engineering is, you would think they would have already launched the first intergalactic space ship with warp drive. Why did they only build a handful of these cars anyway? They should have made them in the millions so that i can pick one up on Ebay. Sure it makes it less rare, but it is such a nice car that who cares about that aspect of it. I would rather have this over a ferarri any day same with the 70 skyline GTR

  • the engine on the 1967-1970 Toyota 2000GT

    Engine

    2.0 L 3M I6

    2.3 L 2M I6 150hp

  • everybody keeps going on about the friggin e type the best looking car ever well it isn't.No where near theres the ferrari 240 gto then teres this.I hate to say it but when it comes to car design the japs take the lead.this is the most beautyful car i'v ever seen and i want one.

  • From the day I saw one of these... I told myself:

«One day... One of these beauties will stand proudly in my garage!»

  • Thumbs up if you think there should be a merger between Toyota and Yamaha.

  • wow, my two favorite japanese cars (mazda cosmo and 2000gt) were limited production.

That sucks hard, I wish they would have made alot of them so I could own one one day ):

  • dang!!! that car only had 44000km. wonder how much that car is worth.

  • This is one of my favorite cars of all time. A timeless classic!

  • had that XKE style.......too bad they never kept going.

  • I love the song. Wish I knew who it is. Nice early '80's vibe.

  • 0:35 to 0:53 reminds me of a screamer I saw once...

  • I want 1!!!!!!!!!!!1

  • if i ever come into any substantial sum of money i want to get a 2000gt, a 79 celica supra, a 83 celica supra, and a 98 supra TT6. (i already have an mkiii)

  • @dwnrety1 my moms first car when she came to america was a 79 celica supra

  • @masterkayaki awesome. smart lady getting a toyota. lol

  • @dwnrety1 lol i was about to ask y u skipped the mk3 untill the end lol n i got one too

  • @dwnrety1

    /care

  • Some say it is worlds best inline 6 engine!

  • the original supra

  • old school version of the LFA haha

  • whats the horsepower?

  • @bettydaw1970 150 bhp base and up to 345 in race tune for a limited handful for competition. All carried a 2.0-liter DOHC inline 6, a modified version of the 'full-size' Toyota Crown sedan unit.

  • 一工業製品が芸術作品に昇華した

  • a guy down the street from ware i live has a black one

  • i like this car,i've never seen it but it is amazing

  • Can you believe this car only cost 6800 back then Now it is worth over 200,000

  • @yf21bowman But even at $6,800 in 1967, that was still nearly twice the Datsun 240Z's price in 1970, which sold for $3,526 that first year in U.S. (Port of entry.) The Datsun 240Z offered its own unique, beautiful styling and no less that base horsepower in an engine of 2.4 liters in size, thereby with more torque and yet for less money.

  • not guna lie. music is gay but it makes me want this q-mil $ car even more.

  • This car was better than any Ferrari Dino 2000!!

  • I think this car was to compete with the Datsun Fairlady Z

  • this and the supra should make a come back. i think it's a perfect time too, since honda is looking to release the NSX and nissan has it's gt-r out.

  • @skyline777 Although I agree the 2000GT should get a remake, now is probably not the best time. Lexus already has the LFA out for order and Honda only recently scrapped the new NSX, not to mention the FT-86 is due out soon. Toyota's roster doesn't have the room, and there's not enough incentive.

  • Yeah, the LFA was supposed to be the new Supra but lexus(I know its still Toyota) took it over and made it into the LFA

  • @eldwaldopinches why refer to it as the 'new supra' the 2 cars have nothing in common, geez. some people... and lexus didnt "take it over"... was always a lexus project

  • what nsxÉ that was cancelled

  • Which supra?

  • She's a beauty, Toyota should make a remake of this car.

  • Already done..... Lexus LFA is pretty much the successor. Cause back then the 2000GT cost around $24000USD in 1970 it's not affordable at all.

  • @koukiR32 Although I dare not say the LFA lives up to nearly the same glamour as the 2000GT. For one thing, it's not even close to as beautiful.

  • Make no mistake about it... this is one of my all-time favorite sports cars and one of my all-time favorite Japanese cars. The same developers of this car also made another favorite of mine- the Datsun 240Z. One time, I saw a red version of this car, and it was BEAUTIFUL! The way it's styled makes you think this is a European car, but it isn't. I don't see how anyone can dislike this car for any reason. Finally, I always wondered what was on the sides of the car (7:04 - 7:11). Great!

  • This is one of the best Japanese auto designs of the '60s. It's a shame that the car was in production for only two ye\ars, even though a custom convertible roadster version was in the James Bond film "You Only Live Twice". In addition, a coupe was in a episode of "Hawaii 5-0", and there was even a racing version from Carroll Shelby! One wonders if the car had continued production (the car was discontinued due to heavy production costs),

  • vividwatch47- I never knew about the Shelby version. Where can I find more information about that?

You know Yamaha designed the valvetrain for the 200GT then used it for it's (then) new XS-1, which later became the XS650.

  • Check out the Witkopedia entry about this car, which mentions something about the Shelby version. Judging from its design, one wonders if Shelby done a "Daytonaized" version!

  • Thanks, I'll check that out.

  • Toyota should have of brought it back. Maybe base it on a Lexus is250.

  • One of these was on Craigslist near me here in MA about 3 years ago. Had no idea what it was at the time. Car had been sitting in the guy's backyard for many...many years. Wanted $500 for it. Now I kick myself every time I think about it!

  • These cars were well advanced for their time, they preceded the 240z by 4 years, alot of work was carried out by Yamaha designing the twin cam head matched to a set of triple Solex carbs, the car was aluminium bodied and had a 5 speed transmission as well as 4 wheel power assisted disc brakes....pretty exotic stuff for 1965......i love classic Japanese cars

  • car looks like long 280z

  • it was the Z's competitor/counterpart. hha! according to various sources. I have a 280zx, and this car is so much better looking, alas, only like 20 made it to the US i think (toyota)

  • if you sold 1 2000gt you could buy about 40 280zx's these things are expensive.

  • HAHA! no duh. But, how much is one exactly? I know there only a handful left in North America. Japan i dont exactly know how many there. I am sure UAE has a lot. Those guys always buy exotic/rare cars.

  • i know of 1 that got sold for $300,000

  • HOW DARE YOU INSULT A GREAT CAR WITH THAT =P

    j/k

  • How Long is a chinese name

  • This car has something from the OPEL GT Coupé from 1968

  • Dont Forget the Toyota Century that huge twon car of japanese emperor and Yakuza :)

  • This car was designed by Grad Albrecht von Goertz the famous Designer of BMW 503 and BMW 507 V8--great car this Toyota 200GT maybe greatest classic of the 60s..i like this 2000Gt more than any Ferrari or maserati, even the Jaguar E type looks simple against this 2000GT

  • and he also designed the Datsun 240z. For some reason the 200Gt was very short lived as compared to the long running Z cars

  • Comment removed

  • 2000GT has an opinion designed by Grad Albrecht von Goertz who designed BMW503,507. However, It is not right. It is only a supposition, because Toyota did not announce a designer name. The fact was designed by Nire Nozaki who was a designer of Toyota.

    .

  • 貴重

  • I think the only car that Toyota has ever made that is really awesome, would be the Toyota 2000GT. Most of the other cars seem worthless to me.

  • have you tried opening your eyes?

  • fuck u. alright, then, smartass, what ARE there cars that are actually worth buying cuz of their body design?

  • pre-1993 Supras, pre-87 corollas, soarers, pre-1994 celicas.... dude are you kidding? toyota has probably the richest history of any of the japanese makers.

  • the 87 corolla isnt that too good. celicas are good too, but then why did toyota make it front wheel drive (the current one). but seriously, in my opinion, i think this is the only car ever worth buying thats a toyota.

  • the 87 corolla is a beater/economy car. from a design standpoint its absolutely a classic. 70s and 80s celicas are beautiful and have more character than anything being produced today. the 93 celica in gt-four trim is an awd rally legend. you are entitled to your opinion but you are wrong and you look like a shithead

  • how does me looking like a shithead have to do with anything, u retard

  • Pretty stupid argument. And stupidly argued, to boot. And yeah, I mean both of you.

  • yeah, all the celicas look great except the last generation.

  • don't forget the toyota land cruiser FJ40

  • > What's the top speed of these cars?

A little over 200 km/h. It's not a particularly fast car in today's standard in terms of acceleration. (If I remember correctly, it takes much more than 10 seconds from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph).) What is impressive to me is that this car did an AVERAGE speed of over 200 km/h for three to four days (covering much more than 10000 km). It has/had an FIA record of speed for that. See Wikipedia and Google.

  • What's the top speed of these cars?

  • about 138 mph, according to gran turismo 2.

  • an amazing car

  • Ooooohhh, I want one so-o-o bad!

  • this car appeared in a bond movie

  • I wish they'd reproduce this car, maybe with late model supra running gear or something.

  • I really want Toyota to make a modern proper sport car like the 2000GT in the past.

  • Beautiful, yet rare. This is Toyota's diamond in the rough, hands down.

  • Fantastic clip, only a handful of these clasic cars left now, remember this is the late 60s, what a car,,,,,,thanks for posting.

  • hum...should they do a remake of this? HELL YEA!!!!!

  • wow this vid is better than porn to my eyes...

  • DOOOOH, why do everybode compare it to the e-type? the 2000GT is more valuable, more beutyful and at last rarer.

  • i would say that both the jaguar e-type and toyota 2000GT are exactly the same in coolness.

  • Agreed. they are both icons of the sixties. still the 2000GT remains my favorite for being the underdog...

  • nobody believes in under dogs anymore and its a shame cause this country was founded in it

  • not in reliability tho.

  • Yamaha is Toyota subsidiaries.. so, who cares.. They're sharing... Toyota could seek help to Yamaha at anytime.

  • This car is named TOYOTA 2000GT, but except

design of form and base engine, all of this car is designed , tune of engine and product

by YAMAHA (autobicycle and piano maker).

Therefore it should be called YAMAHA 2000GT.

  • fuck up fag

  • you're a douchebag

  • Who could say no to this car?! What a little gem

    !

  • Toyota has just passed GM to become the number 1 car company in the world. Strange it is that no great sports car represents Toyota today. Sure Toyota makes great cars but they should build an exotic one How about a modern day 2000 GT.

  • Gorgeous, the days of beauty are over I'm 'fraid . . .

  • @klassiekerrally True. The only thing Toyota makes anymore is generic uninspired sedans.

  • Straight sixes is the thing to have, BMW knows it,Jaguar used to know it(pardon my sarcasm),so did Bentley and Nissan with their Skyline.

They made a special convertible 2000 GT for the James Bond movie "You only live twice".

  • Now this is a car, I love the (MF10)'67-'68 model. Believe me I don't use the word love lightly, I truly mean it. There are many cars that you'll like, but very very few car that you truly love, this is one of them for me.

  • THIS is a car!!!
