Police get away with very little, contrary to popular belief. I was an officer for two years before becoming a prosecutor. Every time we drew our weapons, a report had to be created. Every complaint has to be investigated by a civilian review board (that hates cops). When an officer shoots someone, that officer is automatically treated as a murder/shooting suspect, placed on leave, constructively arrested, and has to explain his actions to a jury at a Coroner's Inquest.

There were flaws in the case, the witnesses who claimed to have seen him did not even fit the discription in which they told the prosecutor. One said he was a short guy another said he had short hair. This does not fit Mumia's dicription.

While the crime scene wasn't properly handled Arnold Beverly's blood was at the scene (supporting the claim of when he claimed to be shot in the shoulder) the mafia and police were connected when illegal activity was allowed to a certain extent (look at D. Hersing's affidavit) AB's in jail and was buddies with a PI for a good amount of time.
But then there you go, why was the cokehead cross examined all because she made her testimony? The US Supreme Court has now sent the case back to the Third Circuit to allow them to straighten out the confusion regarding the jury instructions.

Statistically a police officer is killed or wounded every 32 hours. Mumia is not innocent. I was a prosecutor for 9 years and rarely have seen cases where guilt is so obvious--three confessions, ownership of the murder weapon, etc. My tiff with Mumia is how the anti-death penalty movement and other organizations use him as a poster boy for police brutality. Daniel Faulkner was shot point blank in the face.

Police get away with very little, contrary to popular belief. I was an officer for two years before becoming a prosecutor. Every time we drew our weapons, a report had to be created. Every complaint has to be investigated by a civilian review board (that hates cops). When an officer shoots someone, that officer is automatically treated as a murder/shooting suspect, placed on leave, constructively arrested, and has to explain his actions to a jury at a Coroner's Inquest.

George Washington University professor Paul Butler, who is Black, teaches that other Blacks have a duty to acquit black defendants based on past wrongs. There were flaws in the case, the witnesses who claimed to have seen him did not even fit the discription in which they told the prosecutor. One said he was a short guy another said he had short hair. This does not fit Mumia's dicription.
If you read about Mumia's background you would know he was part of the black panther movement and J Edgar Hoover gave the go ahead to either arrest or kill any panther affiliates. This is beyond faulkner's death this has to do withhis affliations..

The main thing you're overlooking is...no proof is necessary (Scott Peterson) - all you need is to convince 12 jurors beyond the shadow of a doubt. Mumia's gun was never tested by any ballistican, Arnold Beverly told Rachel Wolkenstein that he participated in '89 and then made the confession in '99. While the crime scene wasn't properly handled Arnold Beverly's blood was at the scene (supporting the claim of when he claimed to be shot in the shoulder) the mafia and police were connected when illegal activity was allowed to a certain extent (look at D. Hersing's affidavit) AB's in jail and was buddies with a PI for a good amount of time.

Trust me I don't want to see him die, because what he goes through every day is enough for me. He's in a cell for 23 hours a day and gets minimal human contact, and it's been that way for 26 years, that's a hell of a lot better than a lethal injection where he wouldn't feel anything. And he's the only one giving himself hope of freedom with his appeals, because after his sentence was commuted, a guilty verdict in a capitol murder case means no parole.
