  • ive been training for a few years i dont train hung ga anymore mostly wing chun but the toughest guy i ever trained with was my Sifu at Yee's hung ga. this vieo is awsome can u post more

  • i think this video is great! thanks for posting it.

  • Thanks for clearing that up, techniques look good. I currently train spm kung fu so its always great to see another style.

  • @cal086 Southern Praying Mantis is good stuff, good internals in the later stages.

  • If the 10 killing hands is not a self defense technique, then what is it's purpose? No disrespect here, just curious.

  • @cal086 You're misunderstanding me; to best illustrate some of the ways to achieve the "10 Killing Hand" RESULTS (that's what I was talking about in the beginning of the video), I used these particular attacks (there're others but I can't show every possible way) - most from an attempted grab, but also some from straight punches. Its hard to film at full speed because then I'd have to counter at full speed and its VERY hard to pull your punches.

  • @cal086 Also, the goal of this clip is to illustrate the results you want to achieve to end the fight (with whatever technique you want to use), If someone was jabbing, it may not be feasible to use any of these techniques, but rather others (like a Chop Chuy) to counter. For a straight punch, you can certainly use the Sup Ji Sau to trap, and then do the "Break the Face" palm to the face. No disrespect taken - good question.

  • The guy in the red shirt looks like he's coming in for a hug more than an actual attack. How about showing us some quick and strong straight punches or jabs and the defense from that. It would be much more interesting.

  • @cal086 Because this video is about the "10 Killing Hands", not a self-defense against jabs/straight punches. I would use different techniques to counter those (such as a Leopard Fist after a parry, or a front snap kick), not necessarily the 10 Killing Hands.

  • Excellent video, great technique.

  • i used to be a part of this hung ar school chinatown branch. great techniques! i would love to go back but no money. i miss the days of horse stances, bow stances etc...

  • The day that hung gar can stop AK-47 bullets.......SIGN ME UP

WHAT TEN KILLING HANDS MOVES YOU DO WHEN THEY SHOOTING AT YOU???

  • @NOTELLINGPHILLY I would use the same technique if I was attacked by a BULL-DOZER - the "Jow Faai Dee Gerk" technique.

  • @NOTELLINGPHILLY Martial arts is a tradition..brought down.and back in the past where they do not have guns yet,its more than practical..even thought u cant stop ak bullets..u can still defend urself..u dont see every single person carrying aks getting ready to put bullets thru u..just for self defence..robber maybe..==

  • The groin tear made me cringe

  • I have to say...most mma fighters and kickboxers, when I've held conversations with them on traditional martial arts (which have been several times) they usually give respect to the other forms. In fact, I've never heard "I'm so fucking tough they couldn't touch me blah blah blah blah blah".

You never hear that bs that you read on youtube comments. That leads me to believe that these "mma" guys are probably just douchebag fans, not fighters.

  • @packie009 Well put. I don't know anyone who trains seriously in any of the fighting arts, whether it's kung fu, karate, bjj, mma, eskrima, savate, tae kwon do, etc., to ever talk badly about another style. It all comes down to respecting the hard work and discipline it takes to train and better yourself. Anyone who makes broad statements about another style is just that, a talker and not training.

  • @packie009 i have trained in MMA and never once did i hear an instructor or student put down a traditional martial arts school. In the Army they use MMA and i know for a fact when you join Special Forces they use a lot of traditional martial arts techniques because they can be used in a real life scenario. So i agree with you man these trash talkers are just that, just trash talkers.

  • @packie009 people should understand that it is the person and not necessarily the art form.

  • my belief is that if you have the proper training in any martial art form there isn't anything you can not overcome, whether it is hardship in life or someone who physically opposes you, if you put your self though so much hard work and discipline there is no way you will ever be the same person and i should know i have served in the Air Force and in the Army and have studied kenpo and i have more confidence in myself than i would have had had i not done all of this.

  • @austinalana Thank you for your service brother.

  • @NewYorkHungGa Thank you for your support and thank you for helping keep traditional martial arts alive.

  • If ball striking were legal in MMA as was eye poking, small joint manipulation, fishhooking and scratching and throat strikes and biting, do you think it would be fought in the same way? Would you have the same stance or try to "work your way" to "full mount" if someone was ripping your eyeball out of your socket? Oooh, MMA sucks. Boxing sucks. Kung fu sucks. Oooh MMA can't beat a nuke. MMA sucks. What a joke. None of these things suck. They simply are what they are. Styles. Grow up, you child.

  • In the same token, in MMA, you're assuming that your opponent isn't going to deliberately poke you in the eye, fishhook you, punch you in the balls, bite you, stab you often times, certain strikes like elbows, knees to the head on a downed opponent, kicks to the head, punches to the back are illegal and therefore you're not taught to protect against these things. In your logic then, ALL martial arts suck and are ineffective just because they can't beat a certain ruleset.

  • This is all he said she said B.S. Boxing and MMA is just as formulaic as what you're trying to "debunk". You make certain assumptions in a regulated boxing and MMA bout or "sparring session" that the opponent will abide by a specific set of rules. There are no provisions for someone delivering a low kick or a flying heel hook or anything beyond boxing hence why fighters like Butterbean and Jerome Lebanner who failed to adapt in MMA lose.

  • I know 18 year olds who boxed for six months who could put this master away. I think these masters were brainwashed by their masters who were brainwashed by their masters. And, NO ONE QUESTIONS EFFECTIVENESS. People just believe blindly what these cult like figures tell them. Wake up people. This is bullshit!! Walk into any MMA gym and anyone would be glad to oblige in a sparring match. None of this would work on the street or in the ring.

  • @BushidoCode72 I notice you never say "you" can beat anyone. You always say someone else can do this and that. 'Nuff said about you.

  • Also consider these to be Wong Fei Hung's 10 Cheap Shots/Fight Dirty/Anything Goes techniques. Do whatever it takes to survive. They won't get you a standing ovation but if you rip a guy's neck tendon out or rip his penis off or uppercut him in the throat or actually land a solid strike to the tailbone, the fight will probably end.

  • I don't care what any of the naysayers say. Regarding Technique 5. If you get in close enough to uppercut someone right in the throat, I guarantee that it will stop him and his "chi". Like it says in the video, this is what you can do if you get to a stage where you can pull it off. For you UFC "Tap Out!" shirt wearing rednecks, think of the Superman Punch/Spinning Back Fist finishes you've seen in the UFC. Both you and your opponent need to be in a certain position.

  • bomb the ears, push through target, bring the horse back to stable, exist in ju jitsu also, real ju jitsu that is. guess if they aren't half naked inside chain link it isn't "real" enough for the youngsters.

  • I went all my life never hearing "crack" and "groin" together.

  • There are a few technics shown capable of at the least maiming your opponent. Some sufficient for possible death,blindness,dis-able. Very affective in application. The traditional Wing Chun from mainland China has some similar attacks. Kick to coxic or what ever coming up,heart punch with ginger fist, Pheonix eye strikes to eyes, temples, neck, arms. I being a Wing Chun man myself believe Wing Chun borrowed some Hung Ga. Keep on training. Peace

  • true, killing hands is the best way to describe them

  • NIce stuff!

  • These people are delusional. These techniques will not kill anyoen skilled or not skilled. They will not KO anyone with 6 months of boxing, or highschool level wrestling. It's Traditional Martial Arts myth and brainwashing that techniques like this can EVER WORK. Prerehearsed garbage.

  • @BushidoCode72 If you paid attention to what was SAID in the video, no one ever said these were "killing" techniques. Of course it's rehearsed, its an informational video. For your edification, I choked out a high school champion wrestler, weighing 100 lbs more than me, and had 8" over me, over 10 years ago - when I was less skilled, not with any of these techniques, but definitely with Hung Ga kung fu techniques. Brush up on what the term Bushido means before you use it as your call name.

  • @NewYorkHungGa I've only studied the Japanese sword for a little while, but I've read that three of the Seven Virtues of Bushido are respect, benevolence, and honor. In other words, I think you're exactly right.

  • @BushidoCode72 Actually, I've seen friends practicing the first technique of hitting the ear. They had 40 plus years experience in the arts. One of them accidentally made contact to the ear, and not even that hard, and it incapacitated his partner. Also, most application drills are done with obvious or slow attcks first to allow someone to develop the range of motion, then, speed is added later to make it more realistic.

  • @BushidoCode72 I suggest you get a Oujia board and ask the 800,000 people who have been killed by traditional martial artists whether or not they are effective.

  • @EMT22637 This is exactly the "magical thinking" that fake traditional martial arts masters want you to have?Oujia boards, chi, injure without touch, dim mak, fa jing, kyoshu, etc. ALL BULLSHIT. Where did you even get the 800,000 number???? It is a lie masters tell students to scare them. I have heard so many traditional "masters" say that they are too dangerous to ever fight and compete in no rules events. They dont fight because they can't win. Wake up EMT.

  • Applications are always contextual. It is not a question of the attacks themselves being often used and to defend those in a determined way rather than to be ABLE to use these techniques in the case of possible attacks. More to understand as technical options for the special kind of attacks. It also makes you less vulnerable if you know such techniques. You can´t defend yourself properly against techniques you don´t know yourself. Action and reaction..very very nice. Thank you for this one

  • this is real kung fu,no acrobatic bullshits..

  • yes that is real hung gar - yes it IS effective when learned correctly !

so to see it may be not te best techniques to put up on YT. too much idiots around who could copy badly wrong...

  • really good demonstration, this is REAL hung gar!

  • much respect for the video from a very poor student of the chan hon chung lineage...and respect to yee sifu

  • Tecnicas sencillas y efectivas. Muy básicas, pero es lo más efectivo que hay para la defensa personal

  • yup only question thought is there a video on blocking those moves or countering them??

  • Nice! I don't think the attacks are very realistic, but nice techniques. Escepacialy the grabbing and then pushing techniques

  • @TheRoeliskoel Agreed, the attacks are not full blown attacks. More like "this is what you can do if someone does this". After all, this is not a "fighting" clip, but rather more of a self-defense clip using Hung Ga's 10 Killing Hands theories.

  • Dangerous stuff for sure. Thank you for sharing.

  • Dangerous! I love it but not safe for minors to try at home.

  • Excellent lesson Sifu Yui! Nice to see good Hung Gar is still out there.

  • This is some serious no joke stuff!! Especially the tendon separating and ripping technique. Gruesome!!

  • Good video. I like Hung Ga's weapons forms too.

  • Back in 1978 Sifu Yee palced more emphasis on the techinque rather than the target. The techniques were as I expressed them in my article 9 poison hands in IKF. Sifu Yee and I disussed this numerous times the main grouping of the type of technique double hands, no shadow kick etc. This makes it uniquely Hung Ga.

  • THIS IS VERY NICE GOOD

  • Great variety of technique! Good Hung Gar!

  • Did I not say that there are many ways to achieve these results? It's Hung Ga because I teach Hung Ga. Against a skilled opponent, another skilled person CAN get to these places just as they can get to any other parts. It's all up to the individual.

  • Any random person knows that eyes, ears etc are vulnerable parts and hitting hard in those places can do immense damage to the opponent. What' so Hung ga about it?

When in real fight, it would be difficult to be able to connect to those places against a skilled opponent.

  • Excellent!

  • Excellent video!!!

    Five points of course.

    Greetings form Germany

  • this is awsome nice!!! thanks!

  • chin chung hung ga!
