You know the opening them itself is a pretty damn good song. especually for the time it came out. I remember i used to LOVE hearing the opening theme for the song cuz it got me pumped for the actual episode. You don't see many shows with this kind of opening these days. Of course i'm sure people think we're "past" this kinda thing. Though we see people who were big fans of shows like this making movies, and games =).

Best thing about this cartoon was that the episodes were all throught plain action with laser shooting and explosions and all manly stuff, and in every episode the last minute was svaed for a stupid moral and ethnics lesson which had T-Bot nagging to the boy about something like "You should never leave the oven plate on when you leave the house it can cause conflagration! *nag nag nag*"

Those forced morale lessons felt so stupid even back in the 80's when I wacthed this stuff from VHS :P

Get it? The song is about the unit and what they stand for. Not about the helmets they're wearing which also happen have powered MASK attached to them.

I don't agree with it being the best series ever but it was good during the 1st season before it turned into Pole Position.

The one thing that can't be ingnored is the fact that it had a kick ass theme that was only rivaled by the Thundercats and Silverhawks theme.

I was an art champion so I modeled all the masks (helmets if you will) out of a sticky colored paste (callled "plastilina" ) They came out so bad ass all my friends wanted to borrow them.I wish I had kept them . I had a M.A.S.K-Play-Doh setup as a kid, with mold presses to make the various masks for the characters.

Trouble was, the dough would harden and fall apart or it just plain wouldn't work while I was fitting their masks, and I would get frustrated.
