As I have suggested before in other replies, it is against Jewish law (Torah & Halacha) to prevent any Gentile who want to convert from doing so. There are a few circumstances where one might be refused. Ex. If one were married and their spouse disagreed, for the sake of family unity, conversion would be denied.

Not EVERY person can convert. Many are married to those who do not want to convert and would therefore have to get divorced. I am sure many people would prefer to be a Noachide rather than divorce their spouse.

The concept of "being ready" was not an issue to the Israelites at Mt Sinai. Exod 24:7 says that the Israelites agreed that "we will do and we will hear." They decided that they will DO BEFORE they know everything because G-d can be trusted. Psa 19:8 says that Torah "makes the simple one wise." My brother, the Noahide laws are not actually 7 laws. There are more! Its actually 7 main laws with 30 commandments under each of them, so in short = 210 laws. ;0)

My bad! I said 66. Lichtenstein has 66 listed on page 89 of his book, "The Seven Laws of Noah," but inside his book he lists 67 total, yet he notes that some schools of thought add to these.
@ zigzag. I heard this in a lecture awhile ago and cant recall the name of it. Look into the Torah and you will see that there are 7 main Noahide Laws incumbent on all human beings including Jews (Jews follow 613 laws - including the noahide), but these are general laws, upon further learning you will notice that there are more laws under each of the main ones - a sum of them is 30 under each. Example: Thou Shall not kill is a general law that has more explanations to it. Self Defense, etc..

No, the biblical account of creation is certainly not literally true. The earth was not created in six days, but over millions of years. So what? It is forbidden to encourage others to convert to Judaism.. we do not believe in missionaries that is a Christian idea.. we only accept converts that come to that conclusion themselves, and only after extreme scrutiny and discouragement do we accept their persistence. The concept of "being ready" was not an issue to the Israelites at Mt Sinai. Exod 24:7 says that the Israelites agreed that "we will do and we will hear." They decided that they will DO BEFORE they know everything because G-d can be trusted. Psa 19:8 says that Torah "makes the simple one wise." My brother, the Noahide laws are not actually 7 laws. There are more! Its actually 7 main laws with 30 commandments under each of them, so in short = 210 laws. ;0)

In the book, "The Seven Laws of Noah" by Aaron Lichtenstein (see p. 89), only 66 of the 613 Torahic Laws are listed as falling under the "Seven Categories of Laws" found in the Noachide Laws.

@ zigzag. I heard this in a lecture awhile ago and cant recall the name of it. Look into the Torah and you will see that there are 7 main Noahide Laws incumbent on all human beings including Jews (Jews follow 613 laws - including the noahide), but these are general laws, upon further learning you will notice that there are more laws under each of the main ones - a sum of them is 30 under each. Example: Thou Shall not kill is a general law that has more explanations to it. Self Defense, etc..

I suppose anyone could take a quote from the Quran, Torah or Bible and criticise it, but you would be reading it out of context; What does the verse before and after it say, and how does that relate to the verse you are quoting.

I prefer to read Arabic literature in Hebrew . Because of the relative closeness of the languages, Hebrew teranslation better reflects the internal spirit of the Arabic texts. I suppose anyone could take a quote from the Quran, Torah or Bible and criticise it, but you would be reading it out of context; What does the verse before and after it say, and how does that relate to the verse you are quoting.
Believe in it or not, the original chapters of the Torah and the Bible were sent down from the same God which sent down the Quran. The difference between the Quran and the other two is that they were altered by man, whereas the Quran remained as Gods pure words.

No, the biblical account of creation is certainly not literally true. The earth was not created in six days, but over millions of years. So what? Do you have to take a literal reading of the Bible to believe in any part of it? I dont think so. I have no problem believing in a god while also accepting the very obvious scientific validity of evolution or the big bang (which does sort of seem like creation ex nihlo to me).

Geoasher, I was at first really into this, but serious consideration shows it's clear that we're not supposed to be bringing Judaism to the Gentiles. It's not true that the Noachide Laws are a yoke on the Gentiles - it is, amongst other things, the religion mentioned in the Torah which precedes Judaism.

Ebyonim you like many Xians misjudge the Talmud and take the verses of the Talmud out of context. The Talmud is based on Jewish law, no different then Political Science law. The Talmud the majority of the time is based on how to keep Torah outside of Israel while not violating Torah. It's a volume on Law and can be a headache to deal with. Nothing is officially binding as halacha in Talmud as the saying goes "2 Jews, 3 opinions"

It is impossible to be a Biblical Jew while ignoring the rulings and instructions of the Mosaic Court with regard to how one impliments the words of the written Torah, because the written Torah itself contains the commandment that we heed their instruction - while at the same time the written Torah does not record their rulings & instructions. This is taught in numerous places throughout the Hebrew Bible.

by reading ur comment here, it appears u feel the karoites fall outside of ur theology, but yet they still solely derive their theology from the tanak, as do u.
how can two separate groups approach sincerly the same religious text n see two differing theologies?

Because the karaites ignore the multiple calls for the necessity of an established jewish court of law to make decisions in regards to the application of the written law. This is what brings about unity in regards to halakhah. It becomes clear that some sort of 'unbiblical' teaching is necessary to carry out the written torah, and even karaites have their own form of oral torah.
