I think it depends on the age of listener. Our brain is like CPU that becomes more and more slower with age and needs low tempos for everithing, even to listen music.
Too slow, you say... you can have various opinions on how to interpret this music. Today, different school is prevailing, with faster tempo and full, rich, bright and glossy sound -- but here you can maybe enjoy more clear melodic lines.
It's funny...Schweitzer warned of the day when the modern organists will play too quickly, and the lines will have lost their beauty. I think it's a sacrifice of the spiritual for the technical--bittersweet...
@jimbobboyorganist Yes...I understand it, thank you for your comment from Schweitzer, and I can feel the same thing about it. I love this playing by schweitzer, an organ is not at all a cembalo or a military battle... but the spirit and love
being honest i have to say that this is the worst recording of bwv 532 ive ever heard. Cant consider him to be a concert organist when he plays a "concert prelude and fugue" so slow!

Although Schweizer was a highly respected gentleman, his playing is too slow, I was going crazy waiting between phrases, just plain too Slow.

I enjoy Schweitzer's playing. Not rushed - it gives me a chance to enjoy Bach's harmonization to the fullest!
