mehmood sahaab was a great & very good actor,he was at the old school... very good performance, he reminds me ny good times of ly childhood, but now when i c his performances, its wiz a different look... very good. thxs poster
laughter is the best medi.......e.!!!! i am sure no offence was intended. great song, singer, compositiion, acting,dance...what more can i say. sit back, replay and enjoy and sing along!!
This SJ song is penned by Shailendra. Shankerji was from HYDERABAD and his favourite words were Tandana and Badkama etccc, hence used in this SJ song.
That was pretty much my take on itwhen first saw it. If it were made now it would be completely offensive, but for better or worse, it's easier to overlook with a few decades of distance.
Does it occur to anybody the caricature of South Indians that Mehmood has portrayed here? He tries to play a Hyderabadi guy with all types of South Indian stereotypes (dark, lungi, bharatanatyam steps etc.) And the words, "so what if I am black, I am brave-hearted". Is that acceptable in the year 2009? A catchy tune no doubt, but desis need to be cognizant of our inherent racism. Same deal with the mispronounced "Muthu Kudika Wadihada" song. Aussies would have loved these w/ Symonds controversy
Well I think every culture or race is stereo typed by the other because that is a convenient way to deal with things....and I do not think that Mehmood has targetted anyone....he has always been comfortable doing south indian characters and he is a comedian so......but I tell u these songs....are not typical bollywood songs.....and are regarded as great compositions....well I love this song...and way Rafi has sung it.....and only Mehmood's movies had this type of offbeat songs......
Wah Rafi Sahab, you are unmatched to this date. Such versatality and range, and soul in your singing, others can only dream of reaching your level but none can.
mehmood's dance with his lungi,,,, hilarious and nimble at once!!

This one of Mehmood's performance is a challenge for comedians. Which cannot be beaten.
On other hand it is an example a criterion for all film comedians.
