@aomf58 You sure? Not to be a bitch, but do you happen to have a source? Just want to be sure before I start calling it that. A second-opinion, if you will.
what an incredible player, his finger movements and the way he plays the song really characterize the song itself, at the more dramatic moments when he hits the music out of the notes
chopin was more an ambient classical composer using the pedal constantly and created great music,i am a mozart and handel fan mostly but i love chopin and all the great composers
@grandpoobahful Must you be so juvenile? I seems that most people nowadays can't take anything seriously. People have traded profound and emotionally provocative experiences/moments for jokes about farts and masturbation.
@benroo89 please.........get off your high horse........Spike Jones has as much musical and social validity as someone in a tux with tails........music is captured emotion...mourning & grief (As addressed here) and other equally important ones like happiness, silliness, and dont forget joy.....Maybe if you let out some of that hot air from your pompous ego (making a HUGE farting sound...lol) you would stop being at odds with someone trying to lighten a mood.....
@grandpoobahful I don't know who Spike Jones is. This is not just someone in "a tux with tails"; this is Michelangeli, one of the greatest classical pianists in history. Although that is all he is, a pianist. As far as I know, he didn't write anything great. The fact that he's wearing a suit has nothing to do with it. It could be Hendrix, Dylan, Coltrane etc. Making a joke like that is totally regressive. Some people actually find this moving. I guess you wouldn't understand that.
@benroo89 my point is that you are a pompous ass.....look up spike jones...he had an important role in history helping maintain the spirit of our nation here during a time of war....
@grandpoobahful My point is that you don't even have a point. I'm the opposite of pompous; I just don't appreciate completely crude and unintelligent jokes. It seems that so many people nowadays (generally younger people and especially Americans) seem to have trouble taking things seriously. If the emotion of this piece goes over your head, don't listen to it.
I love the music and ofcourse he plays it excellent but in this version I especially like the tune of the piano I usually dont recognize such things but this is soooo smoth!

you know when you've created an incredible piece of music, if whenever you think of what the music is about you associate it with the song. its like when i think of death, i think of this shit. fucking chopin man..
@MyNameIsBenneth I don't hear it. Imperial March is a fast-paced march, Chopin's is slow. What u hear is the same "march beat", but not melody. Williams was inspired by 19th century music when he composed Star Wars using Wagner's letmotif technique from the Ring operas of having a melody represent a character or thing. i.e. "the Rhine" theme, "the Force theme", "Brunnhilde's love for Siegfried" "Han and Leia's love theme". Imperial March is fast and loud, Chopin's march is slow/somber
@OperaMystery80 Yes, this is what I was referring to. The march beat, not the melody. Proves you heard it too, though. Only in the first few seconds are the similarities notable, dies out in about 15 seconds.
@MyNameIsBenneth Most marches are in the same beat (4/4) but the tempo varies. All waltzes are in the same beat too but that doesn't mean they all sound the same. But if John Williams "stole" from anyone it was Wagner. Listen to the music in Siegfried & Gotterdammerung, he was inspired by that. I wasn't even thinking Star Wars here. I was too distracted by the great musicianship of this handsome pianist.
@OperaMystery80 Oh, yes, I understand, and am familiar with Wagner. Just pointing something out, I agree with you more than I agree with my former self on this point, thank you for enlightening me.
