i agree wholdheartedly with mccormicks EDL idea(Elite Development League) for the nations top prospects nationwide. The NBA, NCAA and USA Basketball get together to establish a national developmental league for the top prospects and them only. a true merit system. unfortunately there is too much bureaucracy in youth sports in america to allow this to happen. "you have to allow every kid to play" BS. majority of the elite prospects are known by their 10th grade years and some by 7th grade.
typical high school and local community losers that will be in mediocre jobs while he is playing professional basketball. this is 1 reason why elite level prospects should NOT play high school basketball. the vast majority of players are medicore and lower with subpar intangibles with mediocre coaches that do not know how to develop talent but install basic systems of play to minimize personal effort and maximize their control.
