Hello! Great setup! I have the same tv but although I was able to get the video signal through DVI-HDMI I was NEVER able to get the sound from the PC to the Vizio! How did you do you that? Did you use the RCA L/R next to HDMI and then a Y adapter to mini to your PC? Please let me know how you got the sound to work, I'd appreciate it! thx
I just bought this T.V today & hooked it up with an S video cable. I just can't seem to get the resolution to look good when its on the desktop or a browser window is open.. How'd you get it to be good resolution???

I just hooked my 42" Vizio 1080p LCD to my computer, but I have like a one inch black strip at the bottom of the screen that won't go away.
The resolution is the highest, and if I lower it the strp still does not go away.
Doesn't look like you have this problem...
Did you fix it or did it just work for you?
I tried lowering the position of my screen but my windows taskbar just goes behind the black strip.

You can hook up any computer to a TV as long as it has VGA or HDMI inputs.
szor1 1 year ago
You can do this with any tv with the right inputs, DUH!
szor1 1 year ago
@szor1
No shit Sherlock. You really felt the need to state the obvious???????????
roadrunner197069 1 year ago
@Filnizer No, you get a graphics card with HDMI input. VGA is only up to 1080i.
szor1 1 year ago
do you notice any lag? Many TV's have lag
JohnF30Music 1 year ago
@Filnizer VGA is capable of alot higher resolution the regular 1080p resolution.

Got it, thanks! so you have not considered using RCA at all. I will give the mini to mini connection a try. thx
dananm 2 years ago
You cant use video from one channel like HDMI, and use sound from RCA cause its its vid1. You got to use audio and video from the same channel.

Theres a PC audio port next to the VGA port. Run line out to line in. Or get a Video card that has true HDMI and run it that way.
I run on VGA because I didn't like the look of text on Full resolution. I have a better PC in my PC room maybe I'll experiment with it.

S-video is analog, you need digital.
I use VGA, or HDMI.
Svideo cant go full 1080p size without loosing quality.

Do it, and i will send you a pic of my 42" Vizio running on my Uber Intel Core i7 build.
I will also put something besides a computer desk in for reference, since you seem to think they make 28" computer desks.
Anyone that cant tell a TV is spanning accross a entire desk and calls it 28" isn't to bright at all.

Have fun on your 15" CT to jealous child. Ask your mommy for a 42" if you want one that bad.
