  • I love Pontiacs and its great to se that GT-37, but let's face it -- most were 350 two barrels, so I don't know why "musclecar collectors" as they like to call themselves, are getting all worked up over these cars. Now, on the other hand, if one has a 400 or 455 HO in it....

  • I think Pontiac is going to make a comeback big-time :-)

  • The carefully crafted line about not having to be 30 years of age in order to afford it, probably had more to do with high insurance premiums than with the sticker price of its high performance family member, the GTO. Insurers were starting to catch on to what muscle car mania could mean as far as speed and aggressive driving was concerned. Even though horse power was drastically cut for the 1971 models, an owner could save plenty on insurance if the VIN did not reveal the car was a hotrod.

  • I had a 1970 GT-37 350 3sp hurst with headers & cherry bombs. Unmistakable sound.

  • now days, for the most cars all look the same the idividuality is gone 4ever! we traded in style for economy sad.

  • Bring these back!

  • Pure Pontiac!

  • I just bought a '71 Pontiac Le Mans.... such a great car!! can't wait any longer to drive it! :DDD

  • I bought one of these brand new in red back in 1959 when Theodore Roosevelt won the civil war and forged the US Constitution and the Social Security act of 1593 when the Japps won the cold war in 1980 and the Muslims bombed Disney World back in 1670.

  • @BigBadHousePet: LMAO! Sounds like you'd be a good Uncyclopedia editor...........{I meant that in a good way :-)}

  • They were cool back then because you could actually get a 2 door HARDTOP!

  • They were nice looking, substantial cars.

  • I have a feeling we havn't seen the last of Pontiac.... Things do come back ya know, look at the new Camaro!!! Thats proof!

  • Yea, I'm thinking they'll come back a a sports-car division... Hopefully.

  • @Sarcasticscum - Traditionally Buick was the performance division, when pontiac was bought, they slowly became the geritol brand. Check out the trade mags, buick is coming out w/ some interesting new products and drivetrains.

  • @Drknnja

Yeah, but to establish themselves as a sports car division, they're going to have to learn how to shave off those rear doors.

  • @Sarcasticscum True dat, I think the sickest Buick was that GS455 back in 1970.

  • @the60scarfreak

Yeah.. Buick had a few highlights after the early 70s.. The T-types, Grand Nationals, and the GNX's really were a big hit.. That turbo 3.8L probably the baddest V6 to ever be put into a car.

  • Pontiacs rock it sucks ass they wount be around any longer but i did 2 touching tributes to them on my channel

  • Yeah. Pontiac goes out of business and Dodge still survives? What a *&^%$%^ joke. GM is obviously managed by greedy, stupid, incompetent people. That does it for me; I'll never buy another GM product.

  • GM made a mistake killiong off Not only Pontiac, but Oldsmobile as well.

You can thank Roger Smith for sealing the fate of GM back in 1984!

  • I had a 71 gt-37 with a 400 that could smoke my friends 68 chevelle!

  • I have a 1970 GT-37 that I am restoring with a 400.

  • @vorgon303: Really? Didn't know the '71 Tempest came with a 400...........

  • could you get a t37 with a 400 or 455

  • yep

  • Those cars flew

  • Love it! I own a 1971 T-37 and had never seen this video!

  • pure pontiac!

  • cars you cant find anywhere....even in the junkyards. the t-37!! i rode in one back in '82. that car was sweet.

  • LeMans was SO ugly.

  • Mmm these are beautiful cars, I wish they still made cars that look like this.

  • @RcColanator There should be a group of enthusiastic people with the apropriate money to open a brand to make cars like these. Except they'd have to be extremely good quality like those were back then.

  • Oh how i wish they still were PURE PONTIAC.

  • Awesome! I have a '71 1/2 with the D98 sword stripe and honeycomb wheels. I have never seen this before.

  • Neat to see a commercial for the GT-37. This is first production run since it has the Judge stripes and the later 1971 1/2's had the sword (full stripe)stripe.
