I wont like to try lenovo itself as I ve experienced their poor policies n worst ever product Y330.

I bought Ideapad Y330 around 2 years ago. In first year I had to replace battery 3 times, DVD drive 2 times Still exactly after 15 mths from purchase both battery n DVD have become crap.

I had used my Dell Inspiron for 5 yrs and this really sucks. (Although I ve good antivirus n updated win everytime)

After contacting lenovo.. they ARE NOT READY TO HELP.

BUY DELL.... I m relying on my old Inspiron which is almost 7+ yrs now... still working good

just my 2c, but i've had a T61 for about 3 years now and am very happy with it - have spilled liquids on it (coffee, ramen) and dropped it from 5-6 ft and it is still fine. much more durable than the previous comps i had (sony, dell).

Regardless of what anyone wishes to think, all PC components are made either in China or the countries surrounding it. Good luck ever finding a processor made outside of Asia. You'll likely find that only the prototype hardware and design is ever made on US soil.

yes as wjli2 said you can use it but i recommend to you is that use the System Update of thinkvantage i mean first install the system with the t61p discs after that you go to the star menu and look for the system update of thinkvantage and thinkvantage going to do the entire modification in drivers and software according to the model of your ThinkPad so is easy you can use any disk of the same series and using System Update of ThinkVantage you can enjoy of the full update drivers and softwar

I used a ThinkCentre E50 from 2005 till last month..its shit..and its worst if u use the celeron processor version. The HDD crashed several times..the machine's choppy. I got rid of most the stock stuff and basically overhauled everthing.

Used one for years and brought the new sl500 series as well. I found them dependable and reliable. The keyboard design, its part of the thinkpad linage. For business/programming and on the road use you cant go wrong. No other laptop can stand the abuse these things can take. As for HD failure, statistically any brand of hd can fail - thats why people BACKUP. No hard drive is immune.

Lenovo is SHITE! My company bought ~10 of these things, and there are only 2 left that are still working. The keyboard buttons fall off, the keyboards gets stuck , there's an annoying "Fn" button where the CTRL button is suppoesd to be, the touchpad is choppy, and the HDD failed just weeks after the Warranty expired.

. . . and I work from home; the damned thing never leaves my desk; I can't imagine using this thing on the road!!

And I have tried a lot of keyboards..(included IBM keyboards) Apple's keyboard just felt so perfect from the first moment I tried it. Extremely good comfort. 2) Over-priced (1.5 times)for entry hardware

4) Glossy, cheap PLASTIC look/built.

I have a T42 and a T61, but wouldn't go as far as saying MacBook Pros are crap. They're nice machines, with a lot of innovation, like the multitouch touchpad, which ads a great amount of functionality.

One of the reasons I sold my TiBook was cause I saw a ThinkPad user use the middle button for scrolling. It is great usability.

As far as price for Apple, it stays the same. They just add stuff, whether you need it or not. I don't need a 15" WS laptop, so not in the market.
