  • hey! as soon as i bought my mk4 golf back in the summer, the fuckin bulb went out... (or maybe fell like yours?) is this the bulb that lights up all of the 3 dials?

  • Yes, 1 bulb does all.

  • @cortinag i didn't ask.

  • how do i remove the other dials?

  • you just saved my life! really i went to so many places, even in VW agency and they didn't know what to do, thank you so much!!!! :)

  • AWESOME...I did it myself and two mechanics said they would have to take off the entire dash to get to it! I took the old bulb to the local VW dealer and they gave me a new one FREE!

  • Hi, you must clean the car, xexe

  • excellent video! you just saved me about $40 from taking my car to the dealer...$30 of labor for a 5 minute job because they have a minimum labor charge and $5 for the bulb, which my bulb was only loose too. plus taxes..

  • Thanx for the vid! Do you know the part number for the bulb or where I can get it?

  • how do you remove the climate control panel?

  • @radu0505 I'm not sure. check VWvortex. they might have something.

  • Thanks. It was as easy or easier than the video shows.

  • Excellent Video man!. I got a question, I´m having trouble with the bulb, i dont know how to get it out, i try everything but the results are the same. Could you please help me with that?

  • @2pingue hey man your best bet is to wrap some electrical tape around the tips of your needle nose pliers to keep from breaking the bulb. This is the best way I know how to do it. or your can try a small piece of cloth. hope this helps dude! let me know.

  • thanks m8 :-)

  • @AhmadAsou no problem :) glad I could help

  • does the bulb lights the whole panels or the other switchs must be in the middle also to take them out?

  • @AhmadAsou the one blub in the middle lights the whole panel.

  • so simple. all my training for dark climate control adjustments down the drain.

  • Thank you so much for this video. It was extremely helpful! You're the best

  • @hpiracr7 Glad I could help :)

  • I just wanna say THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO. I have an 04 Golf, and this has seriously been bothering me for the past 2 years to the biggest extent ever. Never thought i'd be capable of doing this myself, nor did i wanna ever pay for some mechanic. Seriously, thank you so much. This video was so helpful!

  • @garykolemen no problem I know how you feel because I felt the same way when mine went out. take care :)

  • Thanks man, really appreciate it!!

  • @maffhewbellers no problem! :)

  • @MrTormanator do you think it should work for my 1994 honda civic

  • @noterngbck10 I'm not sure man, Sorry. I don't know if a civic has the same kind of construction in the panel. your best bet would be to check on a Honda forum. Good luck :)

  • @MrTormanator thank for this and ill check if honda have any good news

  • dude i went to the dealers he said they have to charge me 60 bucks cause they have to remove the whole panel...wtff yeah right man lol

  • Yes...the bulb control the light for the 3 knobs.

BTW, the part number at the dealer is "N 017 751 2" or Sylvania 2721

    Thanks for the video!!

  • does that one bulb control the light in the 3 knob?

  • useful....very well. thanks, man!

  • I have the same problem. My bulb is burned out.

Do you know the model of the bulb?

I went to same place and I checked on E bay but I didn't find anything.

    Thanks

  • So THAT'S how you do it! My bulb is loose in there, cluster lights up on and off and I had no idea how to get to it. Gonna go it right now! Thanks very much for this vid!

  • @Turnback Looks like I will in fact need a new bulb. How much did the dealership charge for one?

  • The bulbs are cheap no more then a few bucks. If I remember correctly mine was about $2.

  • Cheers dude, very helpful..

  • Man thanks a lot!! I had exactly the same problem and I got used to it until I saw your video. I just did the same thing on my Jetta and it worked!! Just with a little diference....my bulb is burned out :(. Thanks and please if you know more tricks for the jetta please let us know cause izawblue is right, anything to avoid VW dealers!!!!! Thanks again!!!!

  • @imfercho Yeah I can't wait to change mine. I'm not even sure if mine ever worked, it's been so long that they've been out!

  • @number1k9 I know, it´s sad that we have to avoid dealers but these videos are just awesome. I never knew changing that bulb could be so easy. Also taking out the headlight switch is so simple, the only tool you need is one hand.

  • @imfercho ya man the head light swithc is super easy too. turn it to the off position, push in and twist clockwise to mid waybetween on and off them pull out. :)

  • @MrTormanator Hey I have a question: Do you know where can I buy the keys for the car stereo (you know, to pull it out)?. I want to change it for the original with USB. Thanks a lot.

  • @imfercho my best guess would be to go to the dealer. If you want to buy them you could or you could just ask them if they would mind pulling it out for you (I can't see them charging you). Hope this helps :)

  • @MrTormanator Well you're right but there is a tiny little problem: I'm from Mexico, they charge for anything here hahaha. But I'll better start looking for those keys. Thanks anyway man!.

  • @imfercho That sucks dude! When I had the aftermarket stereo in my car removed I went to a car audio store and the guy asked what stereo it was, grab a set of keys, came out to my car with me and pulled it out for me. no charge or anything! I was impressed with his service! super awesome guy! took him 10 seconds.

  • @MrTormanator I know, anything is easy in this car. What I don´t like is that some interior parts are easy to peal with little accidental scratches (like the inside door handles, the cup holder, the air conditioner nobs, etc) But still is a great car. Have you seen the new jetta model?. It´s awesome. There is even gonna be a 2010 bicentenary of the mexican revolution.

  • @imfercho I took a quick look at the new jetta but I'll have too look again. I have had so many little things with my Jetta that drive me nuts! I have had my armrest break, cupholder broke, glovebox, dome light broke, burns oil, orange oil dipstick thing snapped, coolant leak, soft metal issues AKA Striped threads on parts that shouldnt strip. endless little things that drive me up the wall! Still like the red and blue lights on the inside though haha.

  • @MrTormanator Wow didn't think it was that bad...well as in everithing people sell you these days, cars are not ment to last, that's the big problem. I also have some weird noises on my jetta... But going back to the new jetta, it´s gonna be more expensive because what we call jetta here in Mexico is the same as the Bora in the US. Same thing, what we call Bora here, is jetta in the US. Is the same platform but everything else is diferent.

  • Thanks so much.. You saved me more than $60 that the VW dealership wanted to charge me.

  • Thank you so mUch for this
