  • SPLAT!

  • @bugSPLATtv ewwwww

  • Just checking in chuck, hope all is well.

    Jim

  • @SuperUnknownMC Hey Jim.

Very warm winter this year for doing the Polar Bear Challenge.

I have been watching your boat and motor vids. Looks like you are having fun.

  • I learn something new with every TDD Report, Chuck! : )

  • @onejillion Thank you so much Jill.

  • Lots of reports of the Northern lights been visible here in the UK - Related to the solar activity??

  • @afterthetone Since the storm is grazing the northern part of the earth I would say, "yes."

  • Interesting as always lad !

  • @7hunted Thank you my friend.

  • Thanks chuck for this weeks TDD :-)

  • @bakker46 Thanks for watching bro.

  • Hey Suburbanryder.. I see you have an interest in Astronomy? That was a hobby of mine through college and I have several college courses under my belt. I've been away from the hobby for sometime now. I guess with the the kids in college, etc. I have no extra time/funds to pursue my own interests..

Some time, I'll discuss my interaction with a NASA materials engineer about their quest for sound abatement on the Space Shuttle. Of course, a moot point now since the program has been retired.

  • @MrPolymers My father was an aerospace engineer who worked on the Gemini and Apollo projects. His group worked on the back packs that were eventually used for life support on the moon.

I had to give up astronomy in my area except for some occasional viewing of planets. The light pollution from downtown Chicago pretty much killed the dark night sky.

  • @suburbanryder

I'm sure your father has a lot of stories.. One reason I gave up on the viewing is for the same reason you mentioned here. Light pollution. It creates havoc with ground based optical telescopes. I still have my 6" reflector with the equatorial mount. Maybe I'll use it again or save for my grand children someday.. Gosh, that makes me feel old!!!

  • Larry was ere and enjoyed.

  • @larrythelookout Thanks bro.

  • Let the dead singers stay dead, there are plenty of alive singer who need to have a chance.

  • @kb1nyd I agree.

  • Great report! Yes, I also worry that the Justice Department will just go after the websites for copyright infringement even without SOPA and PIPA and they did with Mega... Maybe Obama did stay bought after all and the film industry exec is blowing smoke at us.

  • @mcgrawtim123 I was thinking that too. Like in the backroom deals where you are best friends and then come out to the cameras saying how you hate each other.

That game has been played on us before.

  • Another good one I kept looking to the north this morning hoping to see some of the Northern lights. but it was cloudy.

  • @navythomas8 Cover up the KLR so the space junk doesn't tear up the seat even more. :)

  • If that voice synthesizer can make me sing well I would be very interested....lol.

  • @RedanWhiteRebel I saw a demo of the auto-tune once.

This lady could not sing a note and it was painful to listen to her.

After the auto-tune she sounded pleasant but was certainly no Barbara Streisand.

  • @RedanWhiteRebel 2 of us then lol.

  • Wooo Vocaloid v4! Hadn't heard it didnt still require a full syllabary ... but I guess I can see how the extrapolation could be done from a full work.. I guess it all depends.. I enjoy the purpose made songs for the v2/v3 voices... have quite a few of them. Yeah, I was reading about MegaUpload and going.. and wondering exactly how they are going be charged under DCMA as they didn't overtly promote piracy etc... everything I've seen is on conspiracy charges etc... *sighs*

  • @todkapuz I suppose if one of the officials at Megaupload actually actively encouraged piracy or courting pirate content providers then they would have a case.

It the case rests on simply allowing people to store information that should be totally protected under free speech.

Then you should go after any individuals that may have used Megaupload to infringe or commit a crime.

  • @suburbanryder i guess time will tell, but yeah... why MU instead of the pirate bay which DOES openly and actively support piracy... but we need sites like MU for temporary storage 'in the cloud' for the common man ... for files bigger than email can reasonably handle... presentations etc.. I dont know... be interesting to watch unfold.

  • I think once you die you should be left alone, not imitated by a computer.

More power to the people :)

  • @gogosor I don't want my voice or likeness modified for any purpose after I am gone.

You could technically use this stuff to make Hitler look like a world hero and Gandhi a violent extremist.

  • How about putting a giant marshmallow up there and let the solar blast sauté it.

  • @1954shadow I want to direct a tiny bit of it to my neighborhood so I can have 70 degrees in January.

  • Talk about "Revenge of the nerds". Hell has no fury...

  • @bc65925 I hope geeks keep up the fight. It's hard when the others have really deep pockets. I still like the idea of an "underground" free internet for those who desire one.

  • i love the un puctuated world

  • @67kneil You do know that June 28 is all caps day. in honor of Billy Mays?

I want a boycott "periods" day too. All sentences should just run together till the end of the page. It's like a flowing river of words thing.

  • I fear that while SOPA and PIPA were delayed, they have not been completely defeated. The only thing that was done was to agree to review the wording and revisit it later. Eventual some form of these laws will get slipped through. They'll simply attach it as part of other non-related laws being passed.

  • @RC62 I believe we can only beat back the tide for so long and people will finally tire out. That is why I am hoping another corporate free internet will develop for the people. Technology has this awesome way of bringing equality to small remote voices and ideas when it is used properly.

  • let the dead stay dead i say cool beans on the comet i cant belive that the public has rights go figure

  • @67kneil Very few left now. The corporations will not stop until they have eternal life on copyright and patents along with a pay per view clause where each time you use or watch something you MUST pay them a fee.

  • what about the chunks of rock that fell from Mars and landed in Africa last July

  • @PlanetPowerHD Check out the last link in the description. It's a Time Science article on the Mars rocks that fell in Morocco.
