  • i love the pitch of your voice, the beard on tevye, i cannot tell if it is real or not. and the setting is outrageous. over all, if i had to rate it, 5 and a half stars.(out of five stars.)

  • When I heard the first note, all I could think was: Opera much??

  • but chava baby? fail LOL!

  • Did any one else notice right before she started singing, that he said, "But Chava baby..."

    lol

  • its why i must not why must i. she's not asking him she's explaining.

  • hoddle has a magnificent voice, but im not quite sure she has the right voice for the part. tevye has also taken a diffrent spin on things, not bad neccesarily, just difrent. i guess its just me who has grown up with the movie and all, but nice job, despite how loud the music is.

  • Gorgeous voice, but she was a little flat on the second to last note.

  • @lovelovemedo6 agreed, i noticed that too.

  • @lovelovemedo6 Haha, the reason it sounds like that id because it is a flat note...haha!

  • not bad tev is emoting diff its ok but i dont think its right and he said chavaleh? lol

  • I'm singing this for Solo Festival in my school. Great song, I will never be able to match her gorgeous voice. :)

  • Amazing Voice. I LOVE it. Thank You!

  • ...woah. that was a tad bit off. gross. she has a great voice, but it's just wrong for this part.

  • urrrgh!!!! they make tevye sound like a whimpering fool, and hodel is like a dramatic teenager with an opera voice. YUCK!

  • Tevye is a man who has seen his entire world and traditional values come crashing down on him, and all of her daughters have gone against his word - and now one is leaving, never to see him again. Perish the thought he would be emotional! I like the idea of a Tevye who can actually show some real feelings - it's refreshing.

And I love Hodel's voice, I think it's perfect for the song.

  • Her voice is freaking amazing.

  • Nice rendition of a great song - spoiled by a clownTevye.

  • Agreed, brilliant voice for Hoddle not so great acting from Tevye.

  • Wow.. my town just did this play and like every show was sold out! The songs were sung a little different though.. but it was still great and i made a lot of new friends. I have all the songs stuck in my head tho now especially this song and matchmaker

  • Lovely but her voice is too matture for this part :P

  • im doin this song for NYSSMA to lvl 4 =D

    valley stream south High School!!!

  • im gonna sing this song for a nyssma solo next month. im soooo nervous.

    anyways good job :]

  • OMGx10! No WAY NO WAY!!! I'm doing this song for Nyssma, too! Level four, right?

  • oh thats cool! yeah im doing level four.

im doing it in next week, how about you?

  • Hodel was the funnest part I ever got to play ^^

  • i am singing this for my auditions for my scholerships!

  • WOW, i also want to use this as an audition song, i hope i can match this! :)

  • Great Job. You gotta love that song. Staging looks wonderful. I posted my daughters middle school perfromance... she was 12 at the time.. fun to watch, especailly when the baby starts yelling in the middle of it. heheh.. LOTS OF LUCK you where great

  • i love the way the hodel talks. she sounds like the belle in the disney Beauty and the Beast

  • Mazel tov, on a beautiful preformance.

  • that's fantastic!

  • sometimes a little too darkbut other than that it was a lot better than the other video!!!

    good job acting!!! :)

  • Michelle Marsh was an acting teacehr at my school last year... hehe.

You did a good job. Very musical theatre-esq, which I personally don't like (but as a secret, for having a MT voice you did a darn good job).

    Ahhhhh the little russkis. :)

  • You did a really good job. You have a beautiful voice and acted the role. Hodel has the best song in the show and there is so much story and emotion in this scene and song. Im so glad you and whoever played Tevye made really great choices. This scene can be really powerful and you did a good job.

  • Thanks! I can't wait! :D

  • Amazing voice!

I'm hoping for that role when my theater group does the show in fall!

  • wayyyyyy to much vabrato. nice pitch and tone; she just over dramatized the song. it's a shame. it's supposed to be small and sweet, nothing over the top.

  • Wow. that was realllly awesome.

  • I was Hodel in my school's production of Fiddler on the Roof...this brings back so many memories and I just loved singing this song. I think you sang it too high and put too much drama and frill into it. This is a simple song. It's beautiful and haunting. All it needs to make people cry is a beautiful voice to sing it and you do have a very nice voice

  • Yeah, I have to agree. I did sound board for my school's production (actually tonight and last night), and the only girl who could sing well enough to be Hodel couldn't sing high enough. Either way, it still had that effect on me.

  • ehnbken

  • Really lovely voice, but ruined for me by that penultimate note - it's supposed to be in the minor key there and is one of most beautiful musical moments of the song. Such a shame.

  • Well, I wouldn't say she's better than michele marsh, but she's definitely talented. And a very good actress, too. ^_^ (But Tevye seems to have a slight case of overacting. I mean Topol was much more restrained, yet intense.)

  • sounds exactly like the lady in the movie if not better

  • This brings back great memories for me, I was in a production of Fiddler earlier this year...this is an excellent show to perform!!

  • I was Hodel in our production of Fiddler on the Roof! I loved singing this song. Beautiful job!

  • Boy, does this bring back memories! I had the honor of playing Motel the tailor in a local production of "Fiddler" a few year ago. I was backstage every night listening to this number (waiting for my entrance which was in the very next scene) and it always broke it my heart listening to this song. I doubt there was ever a dry eye in the house.

Anyway, it looks like you guys did a fine show. Your Hodel has a lovely voice and your Tevye seems like a very good, very emotional actor.

  • Shes amazing. She sings this so well.

  • amazing. i was in tears at the end

    i loved it!

  • wow!!! i wanna major in musical theater too! i always have but i still got a little ways to go-i'm only 14.

  • SHE HAS AN AMAZING VOICE! how old is she?

  • thanks. She's 20 in this video. 21 soon.
