  • Very nice.

  • Such a beatiful song and a wonderful video! Thank you for shearing, i've been listening to your song for days now.. it's enchanting and .. comforting..

  • @katrinv123 Thank you for listening and for the kind words. Yes, the message is shining with inspiration, cloaked in a melancholy sound...so glad you noticed. :-)

  • Nice Song btw :D Really great singing.

  • actually there was a "God" in Tolkiens mythology and Varda (Elberetht) was one of the Valar. kind of like an angel. All things were greated by song and it was her part to sing the stars into existence (among other things) but it makes clear that all were given their part in the song by Ea (the "God" figure, essentially a being who brought everything into existence out of itself.)

  • Even Melkor who tried to sow discord with his song only ended up follownig the will of Ea, adding randomness instead of extinction to the world.

  • @InfamousJohnnyG You have a wonderful knowledge of Tolkien's mythology. Thanks so much for sharing it here!

  • @MeredithWaters you're welcome :)

  • @InfamousJohnnyG Thank you for that remarkable insight. I had forgotten that it was by singing that Varda wrought the stars. The lyrics were "Varda, O Elbereth" until to my delight I found that every syllable of the poem fit perfectly. You make me more glad for that :-) Ultimately, spiritually Galadriel - like Elrond and Gandalf - was unconcerned with the trappings of religion but focused on the eternal nature of the soul. Still, mea culpa - there is indeed a God in Middle Earth named Ea.

  • @MeredithWaters and Eru Iluvatar?

  • @MeredithWaters Ea it's the name of Middle Earth, Eru Ilúvatar is God's name.

  • @ArizTaerio I thought, middleearth is a country on Arda

  • @MeredithWaters

I thought that Gods name was Illuvator

  • @cvrnut09 Eru Ilúvatar is the sole deity of Tolkien's Middle-earth, known as Eä in Elvish. I find it of interest that a supremely wise god of Mesopotamian religion, called Enki, was also called Ea. Pointing further to a wise deity, "Eru Ilúvatar" literally means "all father", as does the Norse god Odin, known as a god of wisdom.

  • @InfamousJohnnyG Thanks for sharing! Small remark: it's "Eru" or "Iluvatar", not "Eä". Eä means "let these things be", the words Iluvatar uttered when creating Arda. "Vala" is translated as "power" in the Silmarillion.
