Classic Sesame Street - Ernie and Bert share licorice candy

Instead of cutting the licorice candy smaller and smaller, Ernie should've given one whole licorice candy to Bert, and one for himself, that way, both licorice candies would've been the same size for both of them to eat. (Maybe Ernie wanted the licorice candies to run out slower which could be the reason why he was only using one to cut and share).

I also think that it was funny too. Ernie sure was very unfair getting to eat one whole licorice candy without letting Bert eat one of the ends Ernie cut off since at 0:16 Ernie sounded like he said "Bert since we're buddies I'm going to share some of the licorice candy with you and cut it in half." Unfortunately, Ernie forgot to share here. I wonder why Bert chooses to be friends with Ernie if Ernie gets his way a lot.

i think people are being too hard on ernie here. he bought candy, and instead of just devouring it he tried to share it with his weird, uptight friend. yes, ernie's a dumbass, but bert lives with the guy..he should expect these things to happen and learn to not take them so frikken seriously. and if he wanted licorice whip candy so bad, he COULD just go and buy his own.

I've also noticed it these skits the Muppet characters know nothing about measuring. Between this and Big Bird's decision to put curtains on Gordon and Susan's window (on the OUTSIDE no less) and trying to make them even, you'll know what I mean.

I think in some skits Ernie is trying to annoy Bert while pretending to be clueless. But in others, like when he tries to prevent a flood by carrying water out a glassful at a time, I think he is genuinely dumb. (After all, this is the same guy who paid a nickel for air from Lefty!). But in some skits it's hard to tell which is the case. Like when he turned the radio and vacuum on to take care of the faucet noise. Was that his innocent stupidity or did he just want to get on Bert's nerves?
