  • susan, you have a rare combination of intelligence, sofistication, and powerful sexiness. you just drive me crazy with desire for you!

  • Well, Susan, that's the kind of TV you get when people stop watching soap operas, you get shit talk shows.

  • My best friend is 230+ lbs and climbing. She puts me on mute, while we're on the phone, when she orders food from Taco Bell, after she leaves work. I don't know what to say to her but, in the past, have said, even if it makes her sick to her stomach or kills her, go outside in the AM before going off to work, and go walking/running. She has complex physical issues (a limp in the right leg), but so do I (upper back problems). Who cares! JUST EXERCISE & LIVE! Stop making excuses, I tell her.

  • Thank you very much but, it's not, born three days before x-mas, 22nd but, thank you, every day a birth, of some kind, day...

  • Happy Birthday Susan!

  • I'm sorry, but are you honestly surprised that daytime talk shows aren't progressive? Seriously?

  • You are amazing, I love you, I agree with your ideas. I am so happy I found your videos..

  • Susan has a good point.

  • Thank you so much for saying this... :)

  • you fuckin rock! control of your mind and body.. YES!

  • kan i be your boy toy?

  • i saw you on the simple life :D thought u where beautiful and amazing then, and u surtenly are now :)

  • ive lost 100 lb because i had bypass but agree with you now hoe ever its abot how you feel about your self how ever you get there

  • :-))))))

  • I"m so happy I found Susan Powter- loved her several years ago and I FOUND HER AGAIN- LOVE HER!!

  • @memacnoca Me too.

  • youre great, and you look gorgeous!!!!!

  • I love this woman. She is bold, blunt and so right.

  • you are so deep my friend!

  • Susan you are awesome. You showed it could be done, long, long ago. It's so inspiring that after all these years you've kept the weight off.

  • Gawd Susan you are such a funny woman! You are so dramatic, I love it!!!!

  • Preach it! I thought the same exact thing. I am SO glad to have found your vids here. Was a big fan years ago & recently found ya on Twitter. Keep motivating people the way you do - things need to change!

  • Susan I remember a show like that, it was YOUR SHOW back in the 90's. It was amazing and I was sad to see it end.

  • i wanna train with u!

  • I think Susan Powter and Jackie Warner would make great business partners or friends.

  • OMG you are SO right!!!

  • What a blast from the past. I remember Susan P. when she had short hair. I forgot her catch phrase. But I'm glad she's still into weight loss.

  • i so get ya susan, for real. why do we, the world, continue to make a big deal of look at me and what i did thing. we put poeple on a high horse for loosing weight and then tare then down when, all my gosh they gain two pounds. so what they lost weight, so what they gained weight. man this is getting really old.

  • I totally get you, Susan! ... It's like Oprah (in the 80's) wheeling out her body weight in fat, wearing the skinny jeans ... or Kirstie Alley in her bikini (on Oprah) ... or Wynonna Judd vowing (again, Oprah) to lose the weight and nothing came of it ...

This dated weight loss mentality seems to have returned to TV, where it's all about looking good for a moment. They're doing it wrong, for the wrong reasons (for other people) and worst of all - they gain it all back.

  • It just goes to show that you can never be too careful.

  • lol i still excercise to ur 1992 video that was filmed in dallas :D

  • I would think about you through the years and wonder what ever happened to you. Nice to see you are still doing well

  • Susan, I have found that the people who are successful at losing weight, male of female, (remember that are nearly as many fat men to day and fat women.) do it for altruistic reasons. The unselfish ones do for the well being of their families and loved ones. The socially responsible ones do it for the betterment of society. Selfish and egoistic reasons are important but they are rarely ever enough to cause lifestyle change.

  • oh jesus.. get outta hear before my wife hears this.

  • Women today need to grow up just as much as men do, maybe more.

    Everyone should see this video!

  • Do you want to rub her cheek bones, Dez?

Do you want to caress her ribcage?

  • First off neocon Susan is at a normal weight you fat slob. Do you want to rub Rush Limbaugh's man boobs sweet boy?

Susan Powter is a womanly woman with a womanly body. Her body is like a statue but your wife's body is that of the typical American land whale. EAT EAT WADDLE WADDLE

  • It's a statue of a bundle of sticks. Also, I'm a liberal. Lulz.

If you put your finger too close to Balldez's mouth, he'd try to rip your hand off. I JUST SET YOU UP FOR A GREAT FAT JOKE BONES SO DON'T MESS IT UP!

    CREAK CREAK CRACKLE CRACKLE

  • I think you are one of those San Fran crazy fat acceptance man hating NAZIS who fall themselves liberals.

Jealous fat girls make women look stupid.

  • I think you assume far too much for your own good. I am none of these things: I am a progressive liberal, someone who wants to see acceptance for all people. Are you a liberal? Do you call yourself a liberal? I certainly hope not. You act about as liberal as your buddy Rush.

Also, not only did you totally ignore the fat joke I set up for you, but you mistook the word "call" for "fall." THE FUCK BRO? CREAK CREAK STARVE STARVE

  • @Balldez

If anybody hates people of the opposite gender, it's you, fucktard. I read the comments on your profile. You're nothing but a balding, irrelevant, middle-aged, fat-ass, woman-hating LOSER. And, uh, the only women who end up looking stupid, are the ones who date your sorry ass (which would be ZERO).

PS You know Susan is a lesbian, right?

  • Herpes, you are one of those San Fran nut jobs who call themselves liberals and who give liberals a bad name.

  • Ballgag, you wouldn't know liberal if it bit you on the nasal bone. You're still assuming things and you're still wrong.

Well, actually, since I don't know what you're puking about now (or at least can't identify the latest stereotype you're beating) I have no idea if you're wrong or not.

But I'm definitely not from San Fran.

CREAK CREAK CRACKLE CRACKLE YOU SCRAWNY NOISY IDIOT

  • SUSAN YOU ARE A GENIUS!

  • Hi, Susan...your comments are inVIGorating!!!! You are so terribly fun. Keep on thinking outside the box. It's really refreshing. Actually, sometimes I feel like I'm dying in this cookie cutter world.

  • But anyway, I would love to see you back on t.v. showing people the correct way to better health and fitness, but not in an infomercial kind of way this time. Think about it. Just leave the angry anti-men Lesborant at the studio door.

  • But if you don't like how they are presenting weight loss issues, why don't you do it? I mean, you could be the gay Martha Stewart of the Healthful Living show and do it with tastefulness. Just be mindful that sometimes you come off sounding like the angry ex-wife-turned-neuvau Lesbian. I certainly hope that was not the reason you came out because a man hurt your feelings.

  • Funny thing is, I always thought you were one of US. My question is, why are you so beat on Rachel Ray and Valerie Bertinelli? Weight loss is a major concern in this country; God knows I need to lose this 40 lbs I've gained, and I've always been into physical fitness and body sculpting. Menopause kicked in and everything went south.

  • I don't think Susan was beat on Rachel and Valerie; it was in the context of how they approached weight loss that irked Susan. I saw a bit of this show, it was giggles, hugs, and "gurrrl, you look good" tee hee. IMO, Susan felt this discussion should have been more honest, more educational, and less high school.

  • On second thought, you're an idiot.

  • I think you're an idiot for taking my right to free speech so personally. Who cares how Rachel and Valerie presented their weight loss challages. Maybe you're a bigger idiot for watching the show anyway.

  • Nice to hear you speak again about the differences in Mainstream Media, Susan

Many of us are thinking the same way-we get it and struggle to live it. Worcester MA welcomes you back.

    Ramona of Ramona Interviews

  • Women are important! Big Media needs to place this truth first. Many women are tuning out to confusion others are waking up. You are so right we need a body/mind/spirit approach to wholeness on TV and we need it now.

  • Good . But I lost over 30 lb in one month using weight loss plan from LSWEIGHT(.)INFO

People shoukld always eat right and exercise.. It kills me when I go to MC Donald's and see a really fat person there...

  • umm... so... what... mcdonald's crap is somehow okay for skinny people? it's okay for you?

  • Hello Susan. ;-)

  • Oh yes, yes, you are right on! I was in Weight Watchers once and was disgusted - the talk was always about "getting into the new outfit" or "looking good on the cruise". FLUFF! Shape your destinies, women!

    THANKS for your activism.

  • soooo LUV you !! ``` xoox

  • susan you are wonderful as usual!!

  • HI SUSAN gosh i remember watching you on the home show many moons ago, you look wonderful, i had met you when i lived in california and you were doing stop the insanity book, i finally lost 417 pounds, but its not all it is cracked up to be for me

    georgia

  • There's been a huge retrogression to the standards of the 80's in many facets of media, pop-culture, fashion, and even the way people think. To me, that decade was about exhibitionism, egotism and materialism prized above all else.

I had hoped we were through with all that. Sadly no. Human society works in cycles.

As far as losing weight as an ephemeral emotional experience vs. a life changing experience- I think I see your point. TV turns life into a 2-dimensional caricature of reality.

  • Good video. I liked your point. They try to make people feel crazy, in order to sell them stuff-- when just wise eating, more exercise and some elementary things will help them a lot. I've been cutting fat content and exercising every day. I feel much better.

  • I hear ya. I'm with ya. Although I am big on the emotional aspects of overcoming overeating and all that, I AGREE that quality eating and quality movement will change EVERYTHING for a person. That's why I'm putting this on my blog today Susie Su!!! xoxoxoxoxo

  • I love you Susan!

  • Hey Susan! I'm lookin forward to your training! Will you post it on utube for us to go along? I am dancing tribal at the moment but I feel it's not enough. I lost 66 pounds in a few years, but gained 9 due to stress in the last months. I checked my eating habits again and lost 3 till now but I want to move!

I like your approach to weightloss. It IS emotional, but it's most certainly one of the biggest life-changing things you can do to yourself.

  • I agree Susan. And by the way, your website is fabulous.

  • Agreed.

  • totally agree ! My goal cents being diagnosed with PCOS is more health than anything , after years of stuggaling to lose weight and not being able to , I hope that this new view on things will help !

  • "the same old segments over and over again" -- so true! I don't bother with magazines anymore, either -- same old nothing -- teases, secrets, promises, -- nothing, nothing, nothing! Are there a million 1200 calorie diets with "an amazing new ingredient researchers guarantee will melt belly fat" yet?

  • Liz, I'm SOOOOOOO right there with you about the magazines! They make me crazy!

    Sandi

  • Amen Susan! Holy crap! I can't even begin to agree more... TV being hokie... Amen x1000000!

  • when you speak, brilliance flows.

  • I LOVE YOUR GUTS! I wish we could be training buds I have MS and lost a ton of muscle mass.... and tons of weight from the chemo... now I want to take my life back and beable to walk without taking a nap after...and I want to be healthy I have never really been healthy and I think it's time! you are GREAT!♥♥♥♥

  • Psssst......Heady.........love your guts!

    Sandi

  • LOVE YOUR GUTS TO LADY!!!! OMG I am so happy you love the Susan Powter... I think your even cooler now! LOL

  • This is SO spot - on! "Without the prize of a bikini." The goal SHOULD be health, strength, wellness, and we all lose sight of that reaching for the holy grail of "being skinny." Thank you for reminding me what my journey is really about. Thank you. :)

  • Oh yeah, Susan You Rock! Changing the world one video at a time! :) -patty
